Went here for dinner tonight. Parking is horrible bc we had to park across street in another lot. Wouldn’t be bad if it wasn’t so dang cold!!! burrr! The menu was different from what we researched on Unilocal.We got the scallops which were good and crab bisque that was missing the crab. If had an ok taste. Won’t get that again. Hubby got the lamb burger, he said he really liked. I got the chicken and waffles. I liked them a lot more than what I thought I would. It was two big tender pieces w honey mustard and now I’ll have some tomorrow the atmosphere is ok, younger, seems a bit stuffy and had cnn on the tv at the bar. Our waitress was nice. It does have a lot of character inside.

1861 is the bees-​knees. The food is amazing. They are constantly changing and updating their menu with new and creative recipes. Everything from the Plain Jane Pizza, to the Chicken and Waffles are on POINT. I am a huge fan of the atmosphere it’s quiet and comfortable. Perfect place to have a nice dinner, or grab a drink at the bar with some friends. The last thing I will say is, everyone from the hostess all the way up to the owner, work their hineys off to make you sure have a pleasurable experience. I definitely recommend.

Atmosphere great first people here opened at 5, cosy warm fire places, victory on tap was good, edemae and pizza apps money, filet medium rare was perfect I’m still drooling, wife got salmon very good as well she says, got s few cocktails the house recipe whiskey have to ask manager awesome, and dessert was perfect with pure coco cake no flower it seems, first time here from Wilmington better meal than I have had in Wilmington in over a year, will b back for sure !

Went there with a coworker, got there just before they opened. A young lady let us in from the cold and told us to get comfortable. There was a fire place lit up, but we sat up at a table next to the bar. It was cozy and inviting, and I believe the owner brought us to hot chocolate, one with alcohol and one without. The hot chocolate was amazing, it came out in these mugs that were hot to the touch but when you drank them, they were oh so good. Try the hot chocolate — to die for, not your generic hot chocolate. Now the food, I had the Land and Sea grilled pizza. A pizza with shredded chicken and lump crab meat and peppers etc. My friend had the Little piggies (I think that what they called it’s) pizza, it comes with two fried eggs on top. The pizzas were good, the atmosphere was comfortable, the bar was set up nicely and by the time we left; there were quite a few people sitting at the bar. My friend said he would return with his wife, it’s an 1 ¾ hour from were we live so that says a lot. Go you won’t be disappointed.
Oh! I almost forgot. This place is hidden. There’s a spa and a fine shops in the same building. We drove by this place 4 times before finding it. You drive in the right side, and exit from the left, parking is limited in the back. The entrance is in the back.

Since I moved to the MOT area three years ago this is my favorite restaurant in the area. We are lucky to have a restaurant of this quality so close by. It is on par with some of the better restaurants in Philly. We eat out and travel a lot so the prices to me are good, but you will have to make that determination. I find the value is great. If there is something that you do not see on the menu, ask and they will do their best to accommodate you. Some of my favs are the Chicken and Waffles, Burger, Filet, and Salmon. We requested a Beef Wellington in advance for a Birthday dinner and it was excellent. The Wellington reminded me of Gordon Ramsay’s Steak in Las Vegas. It is kid friendly and they love the Pizza, Burger, and Chicken and Waffles. On top of all this, they make wonderful mixed cocktails and a great Hot Toddy.

Fantastic little place. .especially for Middletown. .need more places like this. .great diverse menu both for food and drink. .staff was attentive and on top of our needs. The surf and turf burger is worth the trip! Nice change from the typical franchise level restaurants that tend to populate most towns. Highly recommend.

Food is fantastic. This place is great for a new taste from the bland flavors of Middletown. The owner and staff are great and is the best place for any romantic dinner for two or a party of 5 or more for great food and drinks. By far the best flavors I’ve had since leaving California. And no joke they will accommodate almost any request you have.

This is by far the best restaurant is Middletown food is amazing and the drinks are great. they are constantly updating the menu with new exciting dishes, while keeping the favorites.

This is our favorite place to eat in the area. The place is not always open so I would call first before driving there. The food is fantastic. I love their pizzas!

Early into our visit the ceiling started to leak water all over my friend. Wetting her iPhone, purse and all over her back. Apparently the salon upstairs was the cause. The actual meal was mediocre, nothing special I ordered the chicken and waffles and wasn’t really amazed by it. The appetizer fries were large steak fries w/​skin and again nothing special. The aioli sauce had a heavy mayo taste and didn’t really go well with the fries.
My friend got one of the burgers and again a mediocre experience.
Will not be returning. Also, this restaurant is located in the creepy dark basement of what looks like what used to be residential house now commercial space.

Love this place. The restaurant is perfect for a date night out or if you just feel like wings and pizza. The food is amazing! The chef is very creative and the wait staff is always very friendly.

Cool little hide away. The pizza is worth the trip. Very pleasing atmosphere. Fresh food with a modern twist.
