Woodchuck has a really nice factory tour. The tasting room is spacious, and gives you a free flight with 4 samples. After that, another flight is only $ 3. Without a doubt the easiest way to try some of the lesser known Woodchuck varieties. The staff was friendly, and I ended up winning two pint glasses while I was there.

Fun place to visit. Their little museum was interesting and it was nice to try their ciders on tap. I recommend it if you’re in the area.

I have to be honest, this place is really confusing. It’s in a brand new, beautiful building. When we arrived on a Sunday afternoon, we were the only people there. We walked in, the gentleman at the counter directed us to an anti-climatic self-led tour followed by a round of samples at the bar. No food and the staff was inappropriate– personal conversations, unprofessional, etc. weirdly, after spending 48 hours in beautiful Middlebury, not one Vermonter recommended this place. I kind of get why now… they did recommend a local brewery less than a mile away from the place that apparently has fantastic beer and food but it was unfortunately closed for renovations when we were there.

FREESAMPLES. How could you beat that? Looking at the factory is fun and there is a lot of info provided for a self guided«tour»(in one room). The store downstairs has so much great stuff from unique limited run flavors to souvenirs.

My husband and I stopped here on our way back to NY from our honeymoon. The free cider samples were delicious and the self guided tour was very interesting! It’s not too far from home and we plan on bringing our friends back sometime soon! We left with the ginger hard cider. which has the perfect amount of spice! The bartender was super friendly and welcoming!

This is such an amazing place! The staff can teach you about the cider process and the cedar cidery tasting room is beautiful.

Chances are, that if you are going to Woodchuck, you have had their ciders. There is no need to review the quality, their success speaks of itself, so I will just review the experience of a visit. (If I may add, the smoked apple cider is ridiculous.) The building is fairly new, as it was still under construction on our last trip in ’14. It is a great stop as you wander around Vermont stopping at breweries and visiting farms. The building is spacious and bright. The tour is a self tour, and only take a few minutes. Just follow some arrows and see the production plant from a viewing platform. It isn’t all that different from other breweries. Holding tanks, bottling machines, nothing different so I appreciate it being set up as self guided and a few historical exhibits on the wall. The bar is the attraction. Wide open, a lot of natural light, real friendly staff. The tasting is free, and you get four large pours from a long list of their offerings. It is a great deal, between the four glasses it has to be at least a pint. Great stop while out for a drive, you could be in and out — tour, tasting, shopping and all — in half an hour.

As weird as it sounds, Woodchuck was our main reason for visiting Vermont. We were lucky enough to be there for their summer kickoff party, they had samplings, games, tours and a food truck. We got there right before they opened so we got to sit at the bar for awhile and taste everything we wanted. The staff was all very friendly and we had a blast. The self guided tour was better than expected. We’ll definitely make it a point to stop and visit the cidery again!

My boyfriend and I decided to stop in here between destinations in VT. Being a huge lover of Woodchuck and cider, I was very excited about. My fella isn’t a cider drinker but this was actually his idea and he had a good time, too. The tour itself is typical of every other brewery I’ve ever toured: A self guided tour in a small room that overlooks the production area. There is a wall with the history, stories and explanation of the cider making process. So, like most brewery tours, this is not exactly the highlight unless you really enjoy standing in a somewhat small room reading about the history of cider. But… it was VERY clean, informative and it included stories and articles that made it interesting. Now the fun part: the tasting! This was so fun. They offer four complimentary samples and you can purchase more for $ 1.00 each or you can get a pint and the cost varies depending on the flavor. I loved being able to try a flavor before purchasing a six pack, since a lot of my local liquor stores don’t allow singles to be sold. I had some great new flavors and my fella, who as mentioned before isnt a huge cider fan, really enjoyed his as well. I live in Southern New England so I was VERY excited to get a few six packs of flavors that I tried and aren’t very available where I live. The servers are friendly and helpful, and the bar area itself is cozy and inviting. We enjoyed conversation with other guests, and there was lots of fun merchandise to browse through to purchase. This is not a pub or restaurant so don’t come in expecting to order lunch or snacks other than potato chips or popcorn they have for sale. If you don’t like cider or are looking for a lunch spot the you probably wouldn’t make this your first on your list of things to do, but for people who love cider and are in the area it’s a really fun way to spend an hour or so on a quiet afternoon or rainy day. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in the area!

Must admit I was not looking forward to trying hard cider. Logan, our server, told me to keep an open mind. So glad that I did! You get 4 free samples and I loved everyone I tried! I even purchased 2 more! Great flavors! Purchased a case and a growler. Lots of fun merchandise to browse through too! Can’t wait to go back!

Made the pilgrimage to woodchuck yesterday from CT and it was not as impressive as we were hoping. It is almost set up like a wine tasting verse a brewery, they offer 4 free samples ans then you can buy a pint if you so choose. They have a few tables set up with checkers but other than that the ambience is definitely lacking. It would be nice if they had a small kitchen or menu of bar snacks to munch on but according to staff they are not planning on offering food at all. Cider was amazing, ambience was meh. Do a quick tasting here then drive down the road to otter creek.

The Cider House was a destination for us, a long drive. It looks really nice from the outside, and it’s fun seeing the production line. But the«tour» is a single room with antique bottles and such, overlooking the line, and the sampling area is small, much smaller than the gift shop with which it shares the space. It probably doesn’t help that I find most ciders to be cloyingly sweet, and Woodchuck’s selection is no exception. The one I liked wasn’t available in stores yet and they did not offer growlers or any other way to take it home, though they sold the standard six-packs of flavors I can get at my local supermarket. I don’t see any reason why I would ever bother to go back.

If you love hard cider then make it a point to stop and taste WoodChuck Cider. I have been a Woodchuck fan for years and was SO happy when they started building the new cider house. Made it a point to come visit from Florida for a visit.
