We just moved to the JAX area from Japan and I had a mean Japanese food craving. This place hit the spot. We had a few sushi rolls and hibachi and it was ALL good. My only complaint is that that the rolls are a little big(which could be a plus for some people). It made eating a shrimp tempura roll a little difficult. The soup is different than I’m used to as well, but it was good! The place is kid-friendly(down to the cheater chopsticks) and the servers are attentive and friendly! This place hit the spot. We’re definitely going back.

Oh man, this place is fantastic! I haven’t written many Unilocal reviews in a while but I just HAD to chime in on Yume Fusion. I cannot believe this place is in Middleburg. I’ve eaten a lot of sushi in my time and seriously, I like Yume Fusion better than pretty much any of the sushi joints I’ve eaten at in New York. The sushi reminds me most of Tomoe: except you won’t have to wait in line two hours to get in nor will you have to take out a mortgage on your house to afford it. Same quality though. It’s a very low profile place right next to a nail salon in the strip mall with Publix. Nice low lighting and the servers and sushi chefs are all delightful. Very nice people who are extremely friendly and accommodating. As for the sushi and sashimi, it is all very fresh, varied and expertly cut. That last bit is the clincher. While most places give you slices of fish about as big as a postage stamp and so thin you could read a newspaper through them, Yume’s are cut in such a manner as to let the essence of the sea contained within the seafood shine through admirably(see my pix!). Also, the rice is expertly seasoned and not packed tight as a drum the way a lot of places do it. This lets the flavor of the rice compliment the fish as it should. My favorites here are the escolar, the conch, the hamachi and the saba. They also raise the humble California roll to a level I’ve never dreamed of. I’ve only been for lunch(about a dozen times) and the specials kick butt! Both the sushi lunch(5 huge pieces + an 8 piece California roll) and the sushi & sashimi lunch(4 sushi, 6 sashimi + an 8 piece California roll) are a great bargain. Their à la carte prices for sushi and sashimi are also quite reasonable. The creative list of special rolls is practically endless! I’m SO glad this place is in Middleburg. When I’m home I only have to drive seven miles or so for exceptional sushi rather than going all the way into Jacksonville or OP for just marginal sushi. And I do — once or twice a week. If you want an incredible sushi/sashimi experience, you should too! This place rocks!

Very accommodating to my «no rice» in the roll requests. Really wonderful and rivals some of the best I have had in Atlanta and Dallas. Service had the right balance of being there when I needed something and not hovering the rest of the time. A totally enjoyable experience right here in the ‘Burg.

I really enjoyed their lunch specials. I am visiting from Sarasota and do not have a kitchen in my hotel room I do not eat out very often. When I do go out, I prefer sushi as one of my favorite dishes. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Great staff and the food come out very quickly. :D

This place is really good. I’m sometimes hesitant to try new Japanese/sushi restaurants but I’m glad I did. The waitress was very nice and showed me everything on the menu that was vegetarian and was patient with explaining what was in different rolls. The food was delicious! Will defiantly be coming back

I’m very picky and I get sick very easily so… If I love this place you will truly love it too. Clean, great atmosphere, great service and amazing food. I even dare say it is better then Wasbi at the town center.

I pride myself on trying new restaurants often, since you never know if a place will be good or bad until you bite the bullet and grab a seat. Luckily, it usually pays off for me in the end(although I do wish it paid off for me more often than it does!). This was one of those rare times where being hungry at 10:00PM and deciding to try a new place was a fantastic success rather than a horrid mistake. First, the interior. It’s a very clean, modern style inside with a lot of gleaming hardwood and nicely diffused lights. Overall it feels welcoming but also a like you’re entering a high-class sushi restaurant without any of the usual off-putting frills that come with that sort of experience. The staff are incredibly nice and helpful and are willing to explain anything on the menu that you may not be familiar with, as well as make suggestions. The sushi bar itself is very clean and spacious, with enough room to yourself that sitting there for lunch is an option. I feel that the interior is very well done and cleaned, and in any case is cozy enough that it feels comfortable while still having a modern style to it. The food itself is phenomenal. My S.O. and I ordered two dinner tempura boxes, one with salmon and one with shrimp, as well as one roll off of the menu apiece. The servings are phenomenal for the amount you paid, and honestly can leave you with leftovers like it did for the both of us. The tempura box included a variety of vegetables, as well as a California roll, two pieces of gyoza, two crab rangoons, and a generous serving of rice. This was in addition to the salad and onion soup that came with the boxes as well! The rolls we ordered were good even after a short car ride back to the S.O.‘s house. All in all, this is one place that you don’t want to skip at all. I work nearby and I am definitely going to come by just to pick up lunch every now and then as a treat!

I’m always scared to try new sushi plaves, especially in middleburg. However, i braved up and tried it and it’s so good! The hibachi dinners give you so much food for your money and the sushi is spot on. The service is hit or miss depending on the time of day you go in, but everyone is incredibly nice. They’re also cool with you bringing in your own wine! I recommend this place to anyone in the area. Its worth every penny.(:

This place is great! Friendly staff, awesome menu, and cold beer! Sushi looks like artwork, is fresh, and a taste of flavor explosion. I’ve been here on a date with my wife and also with the kiddos, and it was a great environment for both. We will be eating here often!!! So good.

Nice to find an Asian fusion restaurant in Middleburg! Offers a range of items from pad Thai to sushi to hibachi. Ordered a spicy conch roll, an order of gyoza(pan fried pork dumplings) and chicken pad Thai(came with soup and salad). Everything was fresh and delicious and I will definitely dine here again!

Living out in Middleburg, quality sushi is something that has always been lacking. Many sushi restaurants have come and gone, but none have ever had anything worth talking about. When Yume Fusion previewed their menu, I was very hopeful that this would be Middleburg’s first high quality sushi joint. My first adventure there with my wife showed that they exceeded all expectations. Several return trips have verified for the two of us what we suspected the first night — This is the best sushi restaurant in all of North Florida, rivaling some of the best I have eaten anywhere, from Miami to NYC. The fish is very fresh, with very high quality Toro, Uni, and King Crab leading the way. Kevin behind the bar is a master of his craft, designing a wide variety of roll creations not seen anywhere else. Our Favorites so far are the Filet Mignon roll and the Bubba roll. The sashimi and nigiri are generously sized, and there are often off-menu surprises to be had if you ask(try the monkfish liver!). This restaurant is a game changer for North Florida sushi fans. I highly recommend you make the drive and give it a try! — Matt
