This is a great place to browse, but I agree with Lucy’s review that the prices do discourage one from doing more than browsing. The inventory is very Francophone provencal and indulgent. The inventory makes you wish you had a lot more money and a huge country house to decorate. There’s a little bit of everything — beeswax candles, serving platters, table linens, steak knives, water goblets, silly pie birds, etc. The back room has a wonderful collection of cards, papers, little trickets, etc. (The place is really jam packed, something I didn’t notice until we tried to maneuver through the store with our daughter in her stroller. Bad idea. If you’re wandering through Middleburg with someone in a stroller, I strongly recommend bringing a carrier.)

This is a wonderful place to browse… varied selection, interesting items, well-merchandised…but NOT to buy. Are they serious with their prices?!

Was hoping to find a nice table runner in here — as Lucy states in her review — things are pretty pricey in here. When I saw the prices for table adornments — I lost my will to continue looking. Nice selection and nice stuff — just too expensive for me.

The Francophile deep within makes me such a sucker for this store. I rarely buy anything because of the insane prices but don’t think I wouldn’t buy up every piece of Provencal goodness if my budget allowed. $ 130 Ceramic Guinea Hen? Sold. $ 200 Tablecloth? Go ahead and throw it in my basket. $ 400 Planter? Hell, Why not? Unfortunately, I must be reasonable. Places like this are why I am saving every penny to actually visit Provence this summer rather than spend all my money trying to pretend like I live there. Luckily my best friend was kind enough to buy me one of their cute locusts for above my door. It’s good luck in France.
