This shop is run by a husband/​wife team. They are very friendly and polite and their prices are better than many other frame shops that I’ve used elsewhere. I have had them frame both small things (16×16 inches) and very large (4×6 feet) without having been driven into bankruptcy doing so. I’ve never felt rushed to make a decision, I’ve never felt pressured into spending more money, and I’ve never been made to feel that my business was irrelevant.
The downsides are first, that they don’t take credit cards and second, that they are pretty far from the nearest subway. The shop is on a residential side street in Middle Village and the M train is a good twenty minute walk away. So while it’s definitely doable, carrying a framed piece of art for a mile can be awkward. So drive there if you can. It’s middle village, so there’s plenty of street parking.
