Not bad at all. It’s a family owned pizzeria and it was pretty good for my first time checking out Middle Village Pizzerias! I came here with a friend one night and the service was great. I would have eaten a whole pie if I was less weight conscious.

The BEST!!! Always do takeout(& an occasional eat in) for the family. We are very satisfied with everything we order. Love the Grandma pizza, Chicken Franzese, & pepperoni bites just to name a few. The staff(especially Frank) are super nice, attentive and fast to take your order. They do not have home delivery but because of their great customer service you actually don’t mind stopping in.

Stopped in here today after living in Middle Village for a few years now and hearing all of the positive things that people had to say about this place. I loved the old school feeling when I went inside. From the décor, table settings and fountain drink station to the workers speaking Italian. Loved it. Very spacious to go with friends/family and have a nice, relaxing time while eating good food. Friendly service. Fair prices. The garlic knots were great. Not hard and crunchy. Fairly soft, like I prefer, with a good garlicky taste. The Sicilian pie is great. Huge squares. Very, very good sauce. To me, that is key! Not greasy at all! Crust had a good give to it. The white slice is to die for. Perfect amount of mozzarella and ricotta. I just wish the would have heated up the order a bit more. Wasn’t really hot by the time I walked a few blocks home. Other than that, I will definitely be coming back. They must do enough pick-up/walk-in business since they don’t deliver. Sucks. I’d definitely give them more business if they delivered. Pretty please start delivering? :)

** 3.5 stars ** A stop on the tour of long-standing neighborhood pizza joints, characterized by counter self-serve, cafeteria-style dining areas, and pizza by the slice. Carlo’s is located on commercial Metropolitan Avenue in Middle Village, in business since 1966. The front of the restaurant has a large dining area with plenty of seating. The back counter shows off ready-made pizzas behind glass. Besides the classic pizza choices of cheese slices and Sicilians, there are brick oven, deep dish, and even stuffed pizza. Toppings include classic pepperoni, sausage, anchovies, and meatballs, but still more dressed up versions topped with pasta(baked ziti, lasagna), ricotta, and chicken with broccoli. But Carlo’s is not just a typical pizzeria; besides pizza, rolls, and heroes, there’s also a full menu of Italian appetizers, pasta dishes, and meat and seafood entrees. But this visit is for a New York slice. The very friendly staff slide the ordered slices into the oven to heat up. All the classic condiments you’d expect, like garlic powder, dry oregano, and chili flakes, are by the soda dispenser near the counter. Hot out of the oven, their plain slice had a bonafide thin and crisp crust, keeping that crispiness for as long as 10 minutes. Not too oily nor overtopped, there’s a good balance between cheese and tomato sauce. Flavor not exceptional, but perfectly fine and satisfying. A solid 3-star slice, with bonuses in seating and service that is better than most pizza joints.

It’s been years since I’ve been in Middle Village, so I don’t know any of the local places. Out with friends for the night and we were still hungry even though we had gone to Meatball shop in Bk. So yeah we stopped in here for a few slices. It’s a nice shop, the slices are hot and fresh, my friends had good ol plain cheese slices while I opted for the eggplant and broccoli rolls. Damn I can’t lie they were good plus my people gobbled up the slices like a pack of rabid dogs. I should take something to go just in case I get hungry in the morning but I don’t want to look greedy. You can tell they’re serious about their food and the love they put in it.

Ok so I’m a pretty steady customer of this place and usually love the food… BUT last nights dish could have been better… Ordered Chicken Parmesan and the chicken was way over cooked and dry… I know that the chicken cutlets are probably made that morning a head of time but if you start with pre cooked cutlets and re-heat them they get dry. HELLO…like I said I usually love this place. Great people working there but this dish was a swing and a miss… sorry I even have to post this… feedback is always good for a business to hear

Just moved to queens a couple weeks ago and was looking for a good pizza place close by. I scored big time with Carlos Pizza. They have a big menu with big tasty slices. The service is always top notch too!

Local staple Pizzeria on Metropolitan Ave. Ymmy pizza, great staff, and Yankees on the tube. Pretty good recipe for success. My date had the chicken parmigiano special it was cooked to perfection. Again I had my usual stand by linguine with white clams sauce and it did not dissapoint. Reasonable prices accimpanied by great food.

I’m a tough pizza critic but this may be the best pizza I have ever had… And 2 days in a row cuz I just had to come back for more. The regular slice is perfect and I added chicken to it for some extra protein. I’m sitting in here now and felt compelled to write this review because its really that good. It’s also clean, sunny, and friendly staff. Very impressive! I’m gonna tell everyone to come here!

Enjoyable but definitely overrated. This is an absolutely ROCKSOLID neighborhood pizza joint that I’d be happy to visit anytime I was in the area. That said it’s not really worth going well out of your way for, which we did, based on the extremely high ratings here on Unilocal. To give a point of perspective from someone that has eaten pizza all over NYC for decades, for a *regular* slice Carlo’s is on par with Gino’s in Bayside, Louie’s in Elmhurst, Alfie’s in Jamaica and not as good as say Amore in Flushing/College point. To be fair Carlo’s offers a much nicer place to sit and eat. Only reason Amore isn’t 5 stars is because it’s a hole in the wall. The fact that it’s 4 star given the ramshackle setting speaks volumes.

I LOVETHISPLACE! Great pizza, great food, and the friendliest people working there Ive ever come across. You really feel at ‘home’ at this place. I know a lot of locals go there for the pizza but I strongly urge you to try one of their sit down dinners. They treat you well, fill you up, the food is delicious. More often than not when we want to eat local we find ourselves saying«CARLOS!» because we know we’ll leave full and smiling My only complaint is they dont deliver. I kid you not… I moved recently… and I moved somewhere thats STILL in walking distance of CARLOS! That is the highest compliment I can pay a restaurant!

New to the area. not looking any further for my new pizza joint. This place is honestly a small«hole in the wall» type pizza place. One of the best slices I have ever had … Honestly not ASGOOD when you take out, but popping it in the oven or on a frying pan for a few minutes makes it just as good as eating it in-house. Would highly recommend!

This place has the best Chicken Parm heroes. The guys working there are all really cool and personable while you are waiting for your food. Good old school Italian Pizzeria vibe in this place.

Friendly, very welcoming staff. Has been in business decades for a reason. I really like the chicken rolls, salad slice, rice balls, and buffalo chicken slice. Their chicken rolls are cooked really well, nothing doughy. Thumbs up!

My all-time favorite pizza joint on planet earth. Given that New York City pizza has the best in the world, Carlo’s on Metropolitan &75th is this city’s poster child. The best plain slice you’ll ever find, the most flavorful grandma slice, and a Sicilian slice to travel the world for. I’m a born and raised New Yorker, and have tried thousands of different pizza shops. Very few have come close to the way that their pizza, that’s made behind those doors with those magic hands, makes me feel when I bite into it. I’m inspired to never leave this city, mostly because of the earth-shattering pizza that comes from Carlo’s.

My 7 year old son and I love this pizza. Sometimes we get slices and sometimes we have them make a single, fresh mozzarella and basil thin crust!!! Omg!!! It’s amazing! The local customers really make the experience special. The service is very friendly and fast.
