My review is based on the policy the owner has with credit card tips. Numerous, local servers will not work here because the owner keeps the credit card tips. Tip in cash if you go. I refuse along with a lot of others.

Our son invited his mom and I to dine here. Heard mixed reviews but he loves this place so why not… we sat outside because it was a beautiful day. We started out with some appetizers. I’m not one for this kind of crusine. I thought they were ok. My wife like the dates stuffed with cheese. My son ordered the special of the day which includes appetizers, entrée and desert. He loved it! The rest of us ordered the gyros plate. I’m a big fan of gyros and this place didn’t disappoint me. A mountain of meat! A side of fries and all the fixing that usually come with gyros. Great flavor! And last but not least, the service was great! I would say the only draw back was that they only beer and wine. Otherwise, we’d go back.

I’ve visited three times and eaten here twice. The food is delicious, but honestly how hard is it to find great middle eastern food? The place has a nice décor, but not nice atmosphere. The service is part of the atmosphere of a restaurant. The staff here do not seem to like their jobs, do not seem to want to be here, and definitely have no concern for the happiness of the guests. Not an enjoyable experience at all.

Nice try but décor seriously lacking and service was a little better than terrible. We were in Michigan City to shop at Lighthouse Point and used Unilocal to find a restaurant for dinner. Not sure what happened here but we were very disappointed. The gyro platter was the best thing and we could have gotten that at any fast food gyro place. I did like the bacon covered date app though.

My husband, our toddler and I stopped here for lunch the other day and it was beyond our expectations. We were on vacation and unfortunately we didn’t eat there until our last meal before we left town. The lunch special is a crazy good price for the amount of food and the high quality. We are way too into falafel, and were skeptical given the locale, but it. Was. So. Good. The only negative is that it didn’t reheat well. So, just eat it all while you’re there. Go. You won’t be disappointed.

My boyfriend and I came here for lunch and the food was very good. We ordered the baba ganouj appetizer and it was the best baba ganouj I have ever tasted. We could tell that it had been made fresh that morning. My boyfriend ordered a chicken pita, which he really enjoyed, and I ordered a falafel bowl with rice, hummus, red pepper, and feta. It was delicious. Everything tasted so fresh. Each of our lunch orders cost $ 9, which seemed a little overpriced before we received our food, but seemed perfectly fair once we tasted the deliciousness.

Best thing to do here: get a bunch of stuff and share it! Here’s what my table got– hummus, tzatziki, tabbouleh, spanakopita, falafel, tawook, and kefta kabobs. Everything was amazing! Enjoy! The spanakopita was just simply amazing! Perfect amount of spinach and tomato cream sauce. The kabobs were good… don’t leave the tomatoes on your plate! Seriously they’re amazing! Of the dips I tried the tabbouleh was my favorite. Eat the pickled turnip on the side of the plate! It’s yummy! Don’t drive past this place!

The food is excellent and the people are friendly and helpful. If you’re not familiar with the cuisine just ask your server, they know the menu and can explain it very well. We have dined here several times, ordering from both the brunch and dinner menus. We have been pleased each time with the taste and quality of the food. Prices are very reasonable and the people tare great. Highly recommended.

Great fresh, homemade Middle Eastern food, especially considering it’s in Michigan City. One of the best spots to eat in the area.

After spending an evening out at Washington Park on the lighthouse pier, my girlfriend Jackie and I were looking for some great food. Being this early in the season we found a lot of places not yet open. We were about to give up when we found the Pickle and Turnip. I had never been to a Lebanese restaurant but really enjoy Mediterranean food. This little place is a crown jewel. The atmosphere, bar, dining room, and everything else about this place is wonderful. Jackie and I are both so happy with our experience we plan to make this a regular«special» place will be hanging out often. The patio is not open yet but were thinking that is going to be where we have many great evenings. Our waitress Erin was very helpful with the menu and was just absolutely outstanding. You must put this place on your to do list when visiting Michigan city this summer.

What a delicious surprise! The food at this Mediterranean/middle eastern bistro was flavorful, authentic, and varied. They have all the expected things but it was the more unusual dishes that sold me(feta stuffed dates, mummahara, etc). We stopped by while driving from Chicago to Kalamazoo and this is as good – or better – than anything in Chicago. Charming, fairly upscale dining room. Super competent service. Great options for vegetarians. Very accommodating with kids even though it isn’t really a «kid» place. I’ll be back!

My honey and I were in town staying at the Blue Chip for our anniversary and decided on this restaurant for our anniversary dinner. We really couldn’t have picked a better place! First Impression: Cute little place with an original feel. Right away we mentioned it was our anniversary; after that the red carpet came rolling out. We were treated with such caring and compassion which really made us feel comfortable and at home. Drinks: We’re more into beer than wine, but P&T had a nice selection of both. They even had craft beer glasses to match the beer you were drinking, always a nice touch. Food: We started with roasted red pepper hummus and tzatziki. OMG… fantastic! Nothing beats homemade hummus and tzatziki. For entrée I went ahead with the Tawook and was extremely pleased with my choice. The seasoning on the chicken was delicious, the rice was so buttery, and the veggies were grilled perfectly. My honey ordered the lamb chops which were equally delicious. The portions are just right as well! Dessert: We were pleasantly surprised with complimentary baklava in celebration of our 3 wonderful years together. I thought this was such a sweet gesture and really made for a nice end to our meal. The dessert itself was fantastic; probably the best baklava I’ve ever had. Overall Impression: I honestly don’t know the next time we will be in the area, but if we ever are this place is definitely on our list. I recommend Moe open up a place in the Chicagoland area! Thank you guys for making our anniversary that much more special!

What’s a nice place like this doing in downtown Michigan City? I don’t know, but it’s a charming spot to meet somebody for lunch. The space is pleasant, roomy, and bright, the staff is helpful and casual, and the food is pretty good. If I were nit-picking I’d say that the«sumac» fries weren’t crisp, and I they had no discernable trace of this alleged sumac on them. Also that the tzaziki sauce was indistinguishable from yogurt with a bit of thyme sprinkled on top. But the greek salad and lamb sliders were both solid. So the food trends a little toward the underseasoned, but knowing that I simply would have ordered a little differently.

Moe and his new restaurant are great. We loved Sahara and P&T is even better. Not only do you get great food made with all natural fresh ingredients but you get someone who really cares about giving you a great dining experience. Great food. Great wine and beer selection. Great wait staff. If you like gyros his are so big I’ve never seen anyone finish it. Also gotta try the fresh lemonade.
