The Manjushree Hermitage

I happened upon The Hidden Inn Motel last August when I took a little spur-​of-​the-​moment getaway to Harbor Country. What a delight! I’ve stayed there twice, now, and definitely plan to go back. Hidden Inn is the sweet little vintage motel of days yore. Nothing fancy, but very pleasing décor and surroundings, and very neat and clean. The innkeepers, James and Rosemarie, offered fair-​trade coffee and an array of teas in the office. They are world-​travelled people & it was interesting chat with them while I sipped my tea in the morning before I checked out. They also gave me excellent recommendations of things to do in the area — in particular they told me the newly opened Galien River County Park, which I’d have never noticed on my own. Hidden Inn Motel is right on Route 12… within easy driving distance of Michigan City and New Buffalo. A plus for me is that Dancing Feet Yoga is a few minutes’ drive away & I was able to make my getaways into mini-​yoga retreats. Double delight!
