The best coconut shrimp we have ever had, some unique seafood and awesome pork, chicken, and an amazing crab salad, hot an cold! Awesome place. Nice workers. Very attentive. I am addicted to this place!

Very disappointed in the food at this place. There is no selection of sushi, the hibachi part is a very very small section no seasoning! Never again will I eat here.

The food was good for Michigan City Chinese, but the service was terrible enough that I will not return. I was ignored completely by the waitress. She didn’t refill my drink or take any plates from my table. I watched her provide excellent service to couples and males that were there by themselves, while ignoring me. She didn’t even bring me a tip tray and fortune cookie at the end of the meal. I understand that she didn’t expect a great tip from me being a young female there by myself, but I can’t understand the complete lack of service I received there.

Worst experience at a Chinese buffet in recent memory. Hibachi Grill in Michigan City refused to seat us in a booth, made us hunt down our own booster seat, and had absolutely disgusting bathrooms. To top it off, when I reached for a napkin my hand came back sticky. We didn’t even touch the food or drink, the latter because of the straw wrappers sticking to the table, and when we asked for a refund they made me translate through the 12 year old who kept asking«why for you want money back?» They made us pay for the drinks we didn’t touch and we left hungry. I sincerely hope another place comes to town to force them out of business, if not the health department. Only 1 star since I can’t pick 0.

Just like other buffets. Nothing special. Service was just average; not the worst, but definitely not great. Food, on the other hand, doesn’t look very appetite. Perhaps I should’ve gone with a carry– out. Will certainly do that next time I am in town.

A typical chinese buffet with the exception of the grill. The food is ok, and the service is prerry good. The General Tsao is bith white and dark meat on which I dont like much. The flavor is however pretry good. The garlic chicken is both white and dark meet also. The butter potatoes are undercooked at times, but when their cooked as should be their good. This is the best chinese buffet in the city as far as my family and i am concerned. Price is fair for a buffet.

Stopped by after a movie, about seven PM. My first time here and I hate to say, was the worst meal I have ever eaten. Tried the hibachi first, not many vegetables choices and it came out pretty bland, although it was nice and hot. Unfortunately it was the exception, I tried a little of many different dishes and so much of it was old, cold, dried out, tough, or questionable that i ran to the out of the bag egg rolls. I really like the scallops on the shell I have had in other restaurants and I was excited to see them as a choice, they tasted funny. The sushi gets the star, they were making new rolls right in front of me and they were simple but sometimes the best food is. Service was nice. Within thirty minutes I started feeling bad, got sick at 3:20AM. I blame the seafood, it’s just the most likely suspect. Too many other choices to ever come back.

I have ate here one and had high expectations because u can get the good cooked in front of u like at a Mongolian. But there wasn’t much flavor and it wasn’t worth the experience.

Only visit this place on the weekends at lunch time or dinner time, never inbetween those times. Most likely they will be busiest at those times and the food will be fresher. The employees were nice. I had to choose my food carefully because some of it looked old and strange but the food I did try was great. The cheesy spinach is just amazing. Good sushi. Decent salad bar but I had to pick a few brown leaves out. Eh. Choose your battles.

There have been 2 or 3 restaurants at this location since the Old Country Buffet closed years ago. I was here for lunch. $ 7 price was good. I has hot & sour soap with an egg roll. Then had a plate of The stir fry. There was also crab available. All was good.

My 2yr old & I ate there in Jan ’14 and it was ok. They did have a discount for military but they do charge for sodas. There is a good variety of food but who knows how long it sits out. Staff was friendly though. We’d go again sometime. CLOSED as of October 23rd, 2015.

Patrons BEWARE!!! I would highly recommend avoiding this place! My elderly father decided to eat here with some of his friends a few weeks ago. The waiter took his debit card and ran it. Then, came back to say he needed it again. The next day there were at least 25 fraudulent charges on his account, totaling approximately $ 8K. Needless to say, whoever used the number did a lot of damage and caused a huge headache for my family. If you actually decide to eat there, watch your account carefully!

We went here for an early dinner(3:30PM). The food was good, except for the fact that they still had some of the lunch food sitting out. It wasn’t until we were finishing up that they started bringing out more hot and fresh foods. Despite this, the food was still good. They had a variety of dishes and everything I tried was pretty good. For the price, you can’t ask for much more. They had numerous chicken dishes, seafood, salad, egg rolls, and crab rangoon. They even included sushi in the price and, although not as good as fresh sushi, their sushi variety was good considering the price you pay for the whole buffet. The service staff was very friendly and prompt with refills and plate removal. I would highly recommend giving this place a try as long as you go during customary lunch or dinner hours. It is nice to see an establishment like this make its way into Michigan City so I’d recommend going there and trying it yourself so we might be able to hang on to nice, clean chinese buffet in this town.

Was enticed by the cheap lunch price of $ 7 so I decided to check it out. Decent selection for your Chinese Buffet and included an ok selection if Sushi. Took a bit too long for my drink refill. I would rate, given the value and my taste, a 3 HOWEVER-their bowl of soy sauce near the sushi had 4 – 5 small flies floating inside. I barely saw them but they sure were there. I could forgive 1, but several? Def. made Me think twice about everything else. Maybe it was a fluke, and maybe ill go back, but this grossed me out-and I pride myself at being unflappable

The food on the buffet is decent. A lot of typical stuff here. A lot more shrimp dishes than I’ve seen on a buffet, though. They also have a decent sushi bar that is constantly being restocked. I’ve had better sushi, but it’s pretty decent for a buffet place — like 6 or 8 varieties. They make you pay before you sit down. Probably a good idea. Lots of doors into this place — it’s connected to the bowels of the building that still claims to be the Marquette Mall. Ice Cream available in small packages from Schoep’s of Wisconsin. No wooden spoon/sticks, though. Use the metal spoons you get, the plastic ones aren’t very good for this. Spicy pork, general’s chicken, salt & pepper shrimp were some of my favorites. Big wontons, nice vegetable rolls. Salmon, taco meat, and cheese pizza as well.
