Wonder Costumes

Waiting for my costume as I write this. This is a warehouse, not a regular store. The man helping me is very nice, he has to look it up in the computer and then go all the way to the back to get it. I have him running around all over the place. This is the only place in Kendall costumes this time of the year.

I was going to give these guys 2 stars, but then I thought about it a bit and decided they deserve more. Why? Here is my experience:
This place was recommended by a friend who told me they have a lot of costumes throughout the year. It’s hard finding a costume when it is not Halloween and they are located within my zip code, so it was a no brainer for me. I had driven to way too many places with not luck. I just showed up without calling (I don’t recommend it) and was a bit confused. Anyone who’s been there will tell you that it is a bit awkward when you walk in and find nothing but a small office with some desks; no showroom. However, I was greeted very courteously by an employee who waved me over to his desk and told me he would help me find any costume I want on their website. I had figured it out by then, it is an online store – which should have been obvious to me when I saw all their logos had the .com extension – and my friend somehow felt he did not need to mention it.
Anyway, I browsed the website with the rep and I did find a lot more selection than any other local store. When I told him which one I wanted, he told me to wait and went in through a back door leading to – from what I saw through the cracks – a HUGE warehouse of nothing but costumes. It looked like Costco in there, but that area was restricted to employees only. He comes back with my costume and tells me that I can «open it and view it» before buying it. I thought, that’s weird. Naturally, I ask, «where can I try it on?» His reply: «oh, so sorry you are not allowed to try it on.» What? 3, stars, maybe even 2. I was pretty disappointed. He explained that since they are an online store, they are not equipped with a place to try it on, yadda, yadda. I wanted to leave without buying anything and then realized… I had driven all over town looking for a Darth Vader costume for Magic City comic con in the middle of January and NOBODY carried it. Come to think of it, I was pretty lucky to even find one and they were pretty nice to even host my visit. Seriously, the guy dropped everything he was doing just to help me out.
I felt like a bit of a jerk for giving attitude about the fitting room and realized that I was acting entitled since I was expecting it to be just like any other walk-​in retailer. In reality, they are primarily based online and they are very kind to help us last minute locals.
So, in short, they have a lot to offer in terms of products, they are open all year, and service was decent. Walk-​in policy, however, was not my favorite; but I understand, the front office is tiny and they don’t want people trying costumes in the bathroom. It’s just not sanitary for those who have to buy it afterward.
Adjust your expectations and you may like it. I think of it as shopping online but in person. Great for last minute.

The price for your costumes are low, but make sure your expectations for quality of materials and customer service are equally low. Their return process is clearly designed to wear the customer down until you no longer want the hassle of trying to get your money back. Wish I had never stumbled across this site.

Just picked up my Fantasy Unicorn costume for a party this weekend. I had no idea there was an actual store front as i found them online, but alas there is one. The store is located in the warehouses by Tamiami Airport and although it looked more like an office, they actually have a warehouse full of costumes to choose from. I brought in the product no. with me and a friendly person by the name of Diana helped me out. All in all, a quick and painless experience. I’m officially a fan.

Theme party’s, oh how I love thee. Trying to go with the theme I decide to look for a faery costume for a party. I found one on this website that I liked so decided to order it. This website has some really cool costumes for all occasions. I ordered it and three days later, as time was running out I called to find out if my order had shipped yet.
The young lady tells me they were waiting to get it shipped from another location to them then they would ship it to me. So now I realize there is no way I would get it on time. She then notices I live in Miami and tell’s me there warehouse is in Miami, therefore I can pick it up once they receive it. I give her my number and within two hours she calls to tell me it has arrived.
I drive to get it and this was no easy adventure. It took way over an hour, yes it was in the middle of BFF. End of story, I did get my costume, thank goodness because if you know me when I get something in my head it must happen… hee hee
BTW, they have great prices, some of the best I have found on some really cool costumes.
My only complaint with ordering from them is how long it takes to get the product. So now that I know where they are located if I choose to purchase another costume from them I will just go and pick it up.
