This place looks like it has never been clean. Smells like rotten eggs and spoiled rum. Food was not good at all. The waitresses have a mean attitude. I will never recommend this place at all.

This diner has been here forever. They still have one of the best breakfasts in town.

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately I found it just okay. There aren’t many greasy spoon type diners in Miami, at least that I’ve found. The first time I ordered the patty melt with french fries. Unfortunately she responded saying they don’t carry french fries anymore. Instead I got the homefries. To this day I’m still not sure if I liked them. The patty melt, though, was very good, but I want fries with my burgers. The second time i ordered breakfast for lunch. I got the corned beef hash, eggs over medium, hashbrowns and a biscuit with gravy. The eggs were cooked perfectly, but the hashbrowns were clearly of the frozen variety and the corned beef hash tasted like it was canned. The biscuit and gravy were good. The prices for both meals were under $ 10. The service both times was attentive and friendly. The ambiance is very dated, and I doubt it has been redecorated since it was built.

We ordered the biscuits and gravy and eggs. Hard to mess up eggs so that was good. The Biscuits weren’t fluffy and the gravy needed more meat. Hash Browns had a funny taste, I guess the seasoning. Waitress was very nice, great service.

Been here many times through the years because it is very close to my work. Always managed to ignore the fact that the place seemed worn and dirty and often had the odor of a mild gas leak. The prices were good and the waitresses(who have been there for decades) are outstanding. However, it is a much worse value now since coffee is no longer included in the breakfast prices. Also I just gave them another try this week and when I asked for egg whites I was told they don’t have egg whites. I’ve ordered egg whites there many times in the past. Are they now ordering special eggs that only contain yolks? What is the big deal with separating out some egg whites like every other restaurant I have ever been in? You would be much better off at any Denny’s.

The best thing about this place is the waitress. Apparently, she has been there for 19 years. She was an absolute sweetheart. The food was absolutely horrible. I actually didn’t feel good after the meal. Small changes and the place could be fun and with good food. Diners are meant to be personal and special giving you that old coffee house feel.

Lots of good choices on the menu! Very casual, laid back place that you can relax at and get good food… not the best food but good enough food. Hearty portions are served. Good ham and cheese omelette. Crisp hash browns. Very nice waitress and owner! We will be going back very soon.

A place that’s been there for decades. You never know how old you are until you go here to eat. The food was average. Absolutely nothing special at all. In fact, it was below Denny’s quality. The place, as mentioned before is filled with collectibles from years gone by. Like eating in an 70s dinner. This place needs to be updated with a fresher look because clearly they aren’t that busy and for this reason. Just my humble opinion.

My girlfriend and I went here on a whim. It was Saturday at noon and in the north Miami area all breakfast spots are jam packed. I, being the impatient fat girl that I am, was not about to wait 40 minutes to eat. I also was being the average girlfriend and didn’t know where I wanted to go. My baby saved the day with this place(she knows I get moody when I’m hungry) It’s only a minute away from where we live and there was almost no one here. I was a little wary at that fact, but the welcoming ambiance of the cozy little diner & the waitress(a sweet older lady) completely changed my demeanor. Free refills on coffee & they leave the pot there on the table so there’s no waiting to fill up. The food here… Is on another level. For those who love old fashioned breakfast of every variety, this is the place. They had so many options on the menu it took me a while to read it. I got grilled fish, 3 eggs over medium & hash browns with banana nut French toast. The fish was crispy on the outside and seasoned to perfection. French toast was overloaded with bananas which was great because I love them and they are super good for you. & Only place I’ve been to that actually cooks the eggs over medium. Kudos to the chef. Babe got biscuits & gravy, I’d recommend this to anyone who’s had it at other places around this city. Beats any one of them by a long shot. She also got the seafood omelette which we shared it was also very good the eggs were very fluffy & with some hot sauce it was pretty unforgettable. This place is breakfast heaven. I don’t think I’m ever going to another b-fast spot in Miami.

LOVE this local favorite :) I’m a sucker for good sausage gravy and hash browns and this place takes the cake! I’m picky about my bacon… Has to be crispy and well cooked and yet again this place takes the cake. Great home style vibe and the friendliest staff!

I have only been once and won’t be going back. The place has an old school vibe which is nice but I got a cup with lipstick on it and I didn’t want to catch something so I really didn’t eat because I got the impression that nothing was really cleaned for the next person. But they always look closed. The server was nice

Omg is an understatement. Ive passed by this place several times and never thought to go. But my boyfriend and I had a free day today and decided to wake up early for breakfast. Great idea indeed!!! We walked in to this restaurant thinking the food would only be mediocre. We were judging by its north Miami location, but to our surprise, we were pleased at the cozy ambiance. We looked at the menu very briefly because walking in, I already knew what I wanted. GRITS&MOREGRITS! lol. I ordered the grits and country ham with scrambled eggs and cheese. The ham was thick and savory. The grits were perfect and buttery. I also ordered those fluffy biscuits and I added jelly. I was in breakfast heaven! My experience was definitely one to share. My boyfriend had the waffles and hash brown(boring) lol Try it, you’d love it

This place has been around since I was a kid. As a teen it was the place to go for late night or early AM munchies(24⁄7). After moving from Miami area I have yet to find a place as laid back/cozy as The H&E. We had breakfast w/friends yesterday and was glad to see nothing has changed. Good food, good price, good service. It was great to reminisce w/old friends in the same great place… Will visit again next time we’re in Miami!

I would NOT recommend this place. I cannot rate their food or drinks because after waiting for 25 minutes we got nothing. But I definitely can rate their service and they get one star because the waitress completely ignored our table, while serving other people who came later than us. And I do not feel like giving them another chance, since the quality of food doesn’t seem to be very high and there are tons of other more customer-friendly places in Miami.

Ham & Eggery has the BEST breakfast in all of Florida: fresh everything… from eggs to coffee. The best and most efficient service, especially from Marjorie who takes her time to welcome you and engage in cordial conversation. We have been coming back for twenty years.

Love me some Ham and Eggery!!! If you are looking for a southern style breakfast with a bit of kick to it you have come to the right place. I have been a customer for the past several years and I will always be. Their service is immaculate. They greet you with a smile and the waitresses are so sweet. Your cups are never empty refills without even saying anything. There can be a wait if there is a lot of people but they are still very attentive. The food and prices are unbelievable I tell you. Most things on the menu are under $ 7 dollars meaning you get a bang for your buck. My latest visit I order the fish and grits and let me say that I was blown away with the flavors. The fish was mouth watering and the grits were the fluffiest I ever tasted. Oh my goodness like I had to ask one of the women working who cooked this and she was like me lol. I told her thannnnkkkk youuuu! I can never get my grits this fluffy hahaha! I mean the fish was amazing and the spices were on point like it had some island infused flavors. The fish melted in my mouth and did an erotic dance with my tongue I was a little embarrassed lmao. Let me not forget my eggs that were scrambled perfectly not watery or too hard, I loved them. And the most tastiest waffle ever cooked in the world made it’s way to my table, I was in heaven. The waffle had me in a euphoric state of mind. I just fell in love with food even more after that day. Ham and Eggery is an old establishment that has been around for a very long time it is not the most attractive place to eat at but who cares for the decorum when the food speaks for itself. If you are looking for a fancy place to eat and take pictures go somewhere else but if you are looking for some southern homemade delicious breakfast this is it!

It’s really hard to find an american breakfast place in North Miami and im glad i found Ham&Eggery! Had the french toast, eggs, and bacon, delicious. Love the 80’s décor!

I just read that the Ham & Eggery is closing after nearly 50 years. Sad? Not really. I went there for the first time with my brother 40 years ago. Back then, there weren’t many other restaurants to compare to this traditional diner. Since then, Miami has grown up and breakfast restaurants are a dime a dozen. The problem is that the Ham & Eggery has kept the same tired menu all these years and the quality of the food is really poor. Breakfast is basically ham(or bacon or sausage) and eggs and it’s just not that good.

One thing Miami obviously lacks plenty of are classic American-style breakfast halls or diners. Ham & Eggery is one, and the people in North Miami Beach have been enjoying it for many years. Yes, I know there’s S&S Diner, and Eastside Diner… and I do know that the farther north you go, the more diners you’ll find, especially once you cross over into the plain«OH-SO-AMERICAN» Broward County. But let me say this… despite my pancake being cold once it was served to me, the butter was runny and bubbly — just the way I like it! Despite the kielbasa(Polish sausage, who knew diners had these? This one does!) being a bit greasy and I’m not a big fan of sausage(okay okay, curiousity killed the cat), it was still a perfect match for the large eggs. The grits were moist and not overdone. The American coffee was good. The point? There’s some hits and misses. In general, this breakfast option in North Miami Beach serves breakfast at really good prices, and have much more offerings than any other diners I’ve been to for breakfast — their breakfast combos and omelette listing is incredible! And the portions are definitely hearty at best! So if you’re in the area wanting classic American-style breakfast, this is a place worthy of a visit.
