The service was very good. The food was ok. It was not bad, but the fried food was just regular. The portion size were on the larger side. I would recommend the stuffed with crab, it was really good!

The Fish Box by La Camaronera’s food was really great. I’ve been here last day and I had a good time. It was my free time and I accidentally wandered here. The place was cleaned very well, the chairs where properly arranged. I loved shrimp so I ordered Shrimp Box, the taste was good. It was a new taste of shrimp dish that I tasted, nothing special though. The Lobster sandwich was also good, I love how the taste of it. This is a very affordable restaurant, I would really love to eat here again and again.

When I was tweeting about heading to the BTTR someone sent me a request for my opinion on The Fish Box. I checked it out and it ended up being one of my favorite trucks. I am a huge calamari consumer — I order it practically everywhere. If it’s on the menu that is. The calamari at The Fish Box was amazingly good — a food truck with great seafood and fried options — I’m down. It was crunchy and packed with flavor. I will definitely put The Fish Box on my top food trucks to visit again when I head back to Miami.

I’ve been trying out different things from the Fish Box when the food trucks come to Hollywood. I haven’t tried everything, but so far my favorite is the Shrimp Sandwhich… I like it with the onions and some of their hot sauce! Last time I had to get 2 of the shrimp sandwhiches… just to enjoy it more(plus I was hungry). So far I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve tried… still want to try the lobster sandwhich, but to date, highly suggest you try it out and get a Shrimp Sandwhich… or two

YAY! I’m a fan is right! I went to the food trucks about a week ago and finally tried out the Fish Box. At first I was a little skeptical because I mean, fish… out of a truck? Scary. But I’m glad I overcame my fears. What I ordered: Lobster Sandwich… holy food Gods. Thank you! Amazing. My second favorite food truck is now the Fish Box(first is Sugar Rush.)

What can I tell you? This truck does not disappoint. The minuta sandwich is fast, cheap and delicious! The lobster sandwich, though understandably pricey, is really, really, really good. Not fond of the spicy sauce though but this sandwich is good enough to enjoy completely devoid of sauce or spice. The breading is light and delicous and, though obviously fried, not greasy at all. Oh, and please do not forget to order the hush puppies! and then make sure you check out the youtube video with Guy Fieri from Diners, Drive-ins and Dives helping make these on his show… they GRINDTHEIROWN raw black eyed peas to make these and it is SO worth it apparently:)

By far my favorite food truck(so far at least). I saw La Camaronera on the Food Network a year or so ago, making the trek across the river to try their amazing fish sandwiches, but alas they are only open during the day. Here’s where the Fish Box is special: they are almost always somewhere around Downtown, and they are open when I’m craving a nice camronera sandwich. Their minuta sandwich(fish filet) is really good, but my favorite is the camaronera sandwich(fried shrimp). The flavor of the shrimp is great, so much more flavor than than fish sandwich. Both are served on a roll with chopped onions and a mayo-ketchup sauce. The Fish Box is always one of my first choices when we go food truck hopping!

I LOVE the fried shrimp box — not the sandwich, just the shrimp! It’s the most delicious shrimp ever! The calamari is good too. Try some tostones or black-eyed pea fritters on the side. Yummy! If you are short on cash try the minuta sandwich. For $ 5 you can’t beat it!

Checked out the Fish Box for the Thursday night TTT. After reading all of the reviews I had to go with the flagship Minuta Sandwich. I have to say that all of the reviews are right, this sandwich is GREAT. A «minuta» is $ 5 and is basically a fried fish sandwich on a roll with ketchup, tartar sauce, and the onions. You know you are getting an actual fish fillet because the tail is sticking out of the back. For those who don’t like this, RELAX, just break it off and eat away. The minuta was served piping hot — just out of the fryer. The roll was very soft and was a perfect complement to the crispy fish. They were a little heavy handed with the onions, I would tell them to «take it eashy mang» next time. The ketchup and tartar sauce were good, and i put some additional chili sauce on to kick it up a notch. Great fish sandwich — probably the best from the food truck fleet yet. I will definitely return to try out the other stuff.

Seafood off a truck… No Thank you. The Fish Box?! Even the name kinda made me not want to go. That’s what I thought before I heard they sold shrimp sandwiches(Love those). Tried it and loved it. Wrote a poem to commemorate the place. (The following is pretty cheesy. Reader discretion is advised) You wanna try Fish Box? «I’m not really hungry though» I hear they have shrimp sandwiches «Well, damnit, I got to go» Shrimp Sandwiches?! Man, I was super pumped. I was craving shrimp more than Bubba from Forrest Gump The shrimp sandwich was great Cuban Bread and some special sauce Knew I had to try other things Price this good, no financial loss. Also got the Lobster Sandwich It came with a bunch of Fries Looked into the bag And boy, was I pleasantly surprised. The Lobster meat was fried But still it was pretty good I was hoping for it steamed It’s too bad… Damn I misunderstood The sauce they put on Was like Ketchup and Tartar sauce And maybe some hot sauce? At least thats what I came across It was also topped of with onions Sandwiched between cuban bread Come on… It’s Miami That’s the way to get ahead. The fries were over-salted, Greasy and pretty thin Didn’t eat them all Didn’t need another chin Overall, it was great the food, service and price seafood en La Miami …well this will suffice.

I love«firsts», as in first date, first kiss, first visit to a much heard about place and so on, and the night I tried Fish Box was a whole succession of firsts for me. First anythings are awesome because you go in there with no expectations and nothing to back you up just your own blind faith and maybe other peoples opinions of their experience. My first ArtWalk at Wynwood and my first Food Truck Round Up came together for me in a culmination of what can only be described as a great night out for practically nothing. It was getting on in the evening and the smell from the food trucks was driving myself and my buddy mad as we had both skipped dinner. So we headed over and I picked Fish Box ‘sole’ly for the shortness of the line at that particular moment. I wasn’t starving so opted for the $ 6 fish sandwich of the day. I got it whichever way it came… which came back to haunt me later in the evening as the onions and later the fizzy beer did not mix well. But at the time the sandwich was well good and tasty and hit the spot. I would have given it a three star A-OK because if I was really hungry and thirsty the whole deal including fries and a soda would have set me back $ 10 easy and the wait was a little longer than I expected. A tad expensive when you have to scrounge around for picnic bench seats outside. I ate standing up surrounded by friends, getting stuff all over my face and hands. Great when you are finishing a night out and are three sheets to the wind, not so great when you are trying to clean yourself up with only paper napkins so you can continue on a gallery walk sober. But I’m rounding it up to a solid four stars for the convenience and sheer genius of having all of these trucks gather together in one spot at different locations and creating a community atmosphere.

Got a chance to try the Fish Box this past Saturday at the Wynwood art walk and it was nothing short of delicious. I tried the camaronera sandwich, which was great. It was so warm and fresh due to the fact that it’s made right on the spot. The tostones were a perfect pairing. I must go back and try the minuta sandwich and key lime pie someone recommended! Catch u later, Fish Box!

Fish Box, it’s not you, it’s me. I was at the Miami Food Truck Vacant Lot(errr…Court) about a week ago with a few Unilocalers, and I was trying to hit all the trucks I’d hadn’t yet tried, methodically going down the line. The Fish Box was last in line, but it didn’t matter; I was still hungry. As it was, I was more than happy to order the Lobster Sandwich for $ 10, which was one of the specials this particular night. Lobster is something I don’t usually order anywhere, as it typically costs some crazy-ridiculous sum of money that will make me giggle and point like a schoolgirl. $ 10 for some light-fried lobster in a sandwich didn’t sound like a bad deal to me, though, so the giggling was kept to a minimum. The line went quickly, and the sandwich took a reasonable amount of time to prepare, neither what I would call quick, nor slow. Service was solid. The sandwich? Decent-sized chunks of lobster, kinda overshadowed by a gargantuan Cuban bread bun. Not bad at all, I tasted nothing but the bread, light onion and the soft brininess of lobster. A little bland, but to be fair, this was most likely because I opted to not have ketchup and tartar sauce slathered all over my sandwich. I can’t deal with red & white goop in my sandwiches, so the blandness is my fault. If I’m being critical, though, I’d say that the Fish Box could stand to offer more in the way of «fixins» for its sandwiches, or at least, an alternative to tartar sauce. I wouldn’t mind having a nice olive tapenade spread on that lobster sandwich, or maybe even a sweet mango salsa.

I hit the Fish Box food truck when several of us went to the Miami Street Food Court for a UYE on a recent Tuesday night. The woman taking the orders was friendly, always smiling and somehow remembered everyone’s faces in the crown when their orders were ready. Prices were also decent: I ordered their fish of the day sandwich, which was mahi on this night, and I also got an order of fries and a soda. It came to $ 10, my food was ready within about 3 or 4 minutes, and the woman taking the orders and handing them out when ready put everything in the bag that I needed — Napkins, ketchup for my fries, etc. That was a welcome touch, because normally when you go to a drive up window at a fast food place, unless you ask for things like napkins and condiments, you won’t get them. The sandwich itself was very good. It was served on a large bun(there’s a good photo of one of the buns in their business’ listing here on Unilocal), and I got mine with onions, tarter sauce and ketchup. The bun was fresh(but as one other reviewer commented, maybe a bit too much bun vs. the size of the piece of fish that was on the sandwich), and the fish was fresh and perfectly cooked. The fries were pretty great as well. While I know it’s probably tough to screw up something as basic as french fries, I’ve also had some pretty tasteless ones at other establishments. That wasn’t the case here at The Fish Box. To sum up, when you find The Fish Box food truck in a location near you, expect to find fast, friendly staff, very good food, and you’ll pay about the same price as you’d pay for similar food in a mid-priced restaurant in this area.

Going to 65 and Bird, to try out a bevy of food trucks who are sharing space here. Yes it was a festive atmosphere, a diverse group of people descended on this location to try Fish Box, Latin Burger, Dim Ssaym a go go, and a churro truck. I’ve tried Latin Burger before, and I like it, there very good, they had a line at the truck, I deem them a success. Dim Symm a go go, had a manageable line, so they too were targeted by me to review. Fish Box, that was the truck with the best music, a very friendly staff, but such a disappointing sandwich. I ordered the Lobster Sandwich, it came on a hard Cuban bread type roll, that covered the entire sandwich, more bread then filler, not a good sign. I can only assume it was fried lobster(fried something), didn’t even taste like lobster, I tried again, nope no lobster here, and again, maybe they mixed me up with someone else and I got a fish sandwich. I turned my car light on, small, but kinda looked like lobster, but with a fishy taste. There special sauce, not that special. Ate half and threw it away! Maybe lobster is too much for them and they should stick to fish, I just wasn’t impressed!

Holy fried deliciousness Batman! The Fish Box is AWESOME! I follow the Fish Box on twitter and was excited to see them in Brickell. I had the Camaronera sandwich which was honestly, foodgasmic! the sandwich consists of fried shrimp, onions, ketchup and a special sauce on Cuban bread. The shrimp was über fresh and crispy! the sandwich was so simple, but absolutely tasty! I can’t wait to catch them again and try their fish of the day and other goodies! If you haven’t tried the fish box I definitely recommend following them on twitter or FB and get on it, you’re seriously missing out!

My biggest mistake at Tuesday’s food truck court was not heading to the Fish Box first. That or not bringing enough cash. Fried Lobster Sandwich on special? Fried Shrimp Sandwich? Why did I even bother with the other truck’s shrimp? I did end up getting the Shrimp Box, and the fried shrimp were excellent. Clearly fresh, and the batter made my car smell wonderful until I got home. Although the menu isn’t huge, all the items sounded wonderful, so please bring $ 20 for them alone. The staff was prompt, friendly, and I thought the window girl was cute. The Fish Box via the Food Truck Court is now in contention for my weekly Tuesday night meals.

This was one of the 3 food trucks stopped last night at the mini gathering last night on Bird Rd and 65th. My friends ordered the Burgie winning La Camaronera sandwich, which I tried a bite of in spite of not being crazy about shrimp. I have to say, the flavor was quite delicious and the softness of the Cuban bread offsets the part of shrimp I am not a fan of, the texture. I ordered the calamari and tostones, knowing that I had to save space for Dim Ssam. They were yummy and plentiful, definitely a sharing dish. Oh and prepare yourself for a full size squid to be mixed in with the mini ones and the rings. That one was a bit too much for me to handle and I had to pass it on to Robert R. Overall, good food but not exactly a food truck I’ll be chasing around town on a regular basis just because it’s not the type of food I eat frequently.

They serve delicious fried seafood sandwiches. You can find its location each day by checking the twitter feed: They set up a bunch of tables and chairs when they park in Bayfront Park(at Biscayne Blvd and SE1st St.).

If you see The Fish Box parked in a location near you, do yourself a favor and get there immediately! I’ve had the luck to enjoy The Fish Box’s offerings twice now, as they set up shop twice a week at Bayfront Park(my new work ‘hood). Both visits were on Fridays, close to 1pm, and I can attest that word about this place is spreading like wildfire! On my first visit, I was one of about 6 customers; on my second visit, the line was a good 10 people deep, with all the picnic tables filled with satisfied customers! Go Fish Box! The Fish Box brings some of its grandfather, La Camaronera’s specialties to the masses, including the famous«minuta» sandwich, and the namesake«camaronera» sandwich. I’ve had both, and they both rock! I honestly couldn’t tell you which one I like better. The minuta came as a huge breaded and fried filet of fish(tilapia or some other mild white fish is my guess), complete with tail. The camaronera, on the other had, brought a pile of freshly breaded and fried shrimp. Both are topped with chopped white onions, ketchup, and a white sauce, served on a fresh Cuban-bread-style roll. The other options include individual orders of fish fingers, fried shrimp, a catch of the day sandwich, fries, and of course, desserts. The fries are crisp and pretty greaseless, and easily share-able. On my last visit, some table-mates insisted I try their coconut crème-ish dessert, and it was pretty amazing. The Fish Box is cash only, and prices are very reasonable(everything is well under $ 10). If you order more than $ 10 worth of good eats, you get your choice of a free order of fries or a free drink! Definitely worth grabbing a friend or 3 and high-tailing it down to The Fish Box next time it’s in your ‘hood!
