Sushi Sake

Last night I went with some friends and found hair on my orange and bug in my soup… I addressed it with the waitress she supposedly told the manager … The manager did not come at all & I asked for him to come once more … He came to tell me that in the restaurant business things like this happen & that I should basically get over it its just a little bug & hair … Wtf? Being a previous assistant manager at a sushi restaurant in South Beach … I was appalled by his management skills & a costumer having anything but food on there plate … Will never be returning again. Health inspectors are really big on things like this good luck Sushi Sake because this location seems to be headed for failure.

Stay away. Not good, over priced, cheap quality food. Only one thing I like from here is the cheese maki. I wanted sushi today and this was the closest place to me at the moment & so I decided to give it a try, totally regret it. Again, it’s simple; stay away from this place. NO GOOD. The worse sushi I’ve ever had, publix sushi is better! Enough said.

I was a bit concerned about eating here after reading the last few reviews but it was my daughters birthday and this was the place she picked. The service was great. From the greeter sitting us, our server, the bus boy picking up our plates after each course and even the manager passing by to make sure we were having a good eating experience.
We arrived before 7 and were surprised by the happy hour ½ price drinks and appetizers. Nice!
The Hibachi steak, cheese apps and California roll were great but the dragon roll was just ok. The free birthday fried ice cream with a sparkler on it was a great treat. Thank you Elizabeth. You were awesome.

I ordered delivery as i always do. I have never ever had a problem to be honest, some bad cuts of fish here and there but it happens. But today was something different. Today was not about the food, it was about being accused of not paying for my food. When James, the delivery man, showed up at my door, i asked for change but he didn’t have sufficient change for a tip. He said to give him exact and so i did but in the mix up, I went ahead and asked him if we could please double check and we re did the whole thing again to assure the right change was given. After confirming the change was correct. I go back inside and he leaves, and i go to take a quick shower before eating, i come back to my phone to see two missed calls from a number i do not recognize and a text message from the driver stating that yet again there was a mix up and that I owe him $ 40. We double checked for a reason but i gave him the benefit of the doubt and checked the cash I had on me to ensure I didn’t take back the $ 40 and sure enough I didn’t. I went ahead and called the store directly and spoke with Albert the manager. He said that the driver would not do that, so on and so fourth and proceeded to say he couldn’t tell me what to do but to talk to the driver and work it out. I asked him to speak to the driver since i saw that i gave the right amount of money and he said he would. I started writing this review about 5 minutes ago and just now the manager Albert calls me back stating now that the person delivering the food was his cousin and that he was alsofhappens to be the owner of the sushi sake location… that i should now want to talk to him. I politely said no, and wished him a good night and they said to enjoy my meal. Not only have lost my appetite but now i feel insulted overall. In the end, they expected me to dish out another $ 40 for food I had already paid for. After this do you think I would feel comfortable ordering delivery from them? No thank you. I love sushi sake, but i will be visiting other locations from now on and in person. Really disappointed.

Unilocalers that have reported bad service here are correct! We went around 4:30pm and the 1^st impression: nobody at the door to greet (only a table of 3 sitting down and finishing their meal), we saw dirty tables and when the «hostess» came out, her welcome was not really a welcome.
Strike one… Not a good sign, right!?!
We sat at the table and were told the server would be with us in a moment. We waited, waited, waited and when she finally came she mumbled that the daily specials were on the table and brought the menu.
Strike two!
Then we waited, and waited and waited… she came and took the appetizer and drink order. We ordered sodas which were just placed on the table without opening them, no conversation, suggestions, totally impersonal!
We waited and waited and waited and the appetizer came. It was so ridiculously microscopic and unappetizing that it was not even worthy of a picture to laugh at it later… we tried to be gracious and still order our meal but guess what?
We waited and waited and waited and after 20 more minutes of no service we decided to pay and take our business to somewhere were customers are appreciated.
Strike three! Sushi Sake is Out!!!

Worst customer service. We waited over 15 minutes for the waitress to come and bring us drinks. The staff was chatting and talking about the customers.
Food was alright. Definitely not coming back.

Came in here for late afternoon lunch. It has a nice, fresh atmosphere, but sushi here is just average, nothing special or very unique about their rolls. Service is terribly slow, it took 30 minutes just to get our check.

So we were trying out this location and figured that the mixed reviews may have been exaggerated… they are not. I ordered a chicken fried rice, shrimp Shuman and a spider roll.
The fried rice was simply awful, the rice was at least a day or two days old, totally hard and pretty bland, the Shumai was pretty good and the roll was far from spectacular as some of the reviews mentioned. Can’t say we will be returning to this location. will be headed further out to Sea Siam Express. I’ve yet to have a bad experience there.

Worst service ever!!! I made the mistake to go for dinner they seated me at 7 pm asked for water which was brought 20 minutes later. The waitress was to busy in the back of the restaurant and did not pay attention to any of the tables. After I placed my ordered it took 40 minutes for her to bring it to the table. She never check on how I was doing. Finally the manager noticed the horrible service and actually was the one who brought my food to the table. The food was cold. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Don’t go. Reason why this place is always empty because of its service.

My sushi sake experience is always pretty pleasant. Being that it’s New Year’s Day I called in advance to make sure they were open. The hostess informed me that they were open until 3 am so I proceeded to inquire if there was a wait time (being that it’s Friday and New Year’s Day). Once I was told it was about a 30 minute wait I proceeded to ask if they took reservations so I could add my name to the wait list in advance. She said yes, and this was a huge plus. We have an infant and it’s better to time our outings so there isn’t a lot of waiting around.
Moving onto the food! We were immediately seated and ordered. We ordered a Miami Heat roll to start out. It was delicious! We’ve been told that during heat games they are half off too! I was tempted to order another order it’s so good. However, we had already ordered the hibachi chicken and hibachi steak. This comes with your choice of miso soup or salad, and fried rice as your side with hibachi veggies. It’s a lot of food but it’s oh so worth it.
It’s not the best miso soup I’ve had but it is good. My son likes it a lot too! My all time favorite recently discovered meal is the hibachi salmon. It’s too good. The Salmon is moist but falls apart in your mouth. It packs such a great flavor too. I always pay extra to get the special fried rice because it comes with chicken, steak, and shrimp. Pair that up with some shrimp sauce and you’ve got a match made in heaven!
My hubby doesn’t really like veggies but he loves the hibachi veggies and even eats mine. It’s a combo of zucchini and onions. He just mixes it all into his hibachi chicken and fried rice.
We always end up so stuffed when we eat Sushi Sake that we never can make it to dessert. That says a lot because they have fried ice cream, fried cheesecake, and Thai donuts amongst other things to chose from. How could you not want to have that?! The only thing I’ve noticed is that other locations have complimentary cotton candy and I have never seen it offered at this location.

Fantastic place!!! The food’s great, the service is pleasant, the place is nicely decorated and clean. The cotton candy at the end of your meal is a very nice touch!!! My only compliant is that maybe they could do without the tv’s and the loud music!!! The tv is the bathrooms are cool!!! But at times, it was too loud to have a conversation. Plus, you can see people sitting at the tables looking up and watching the music videos!!!

Soy clienta de sushi sake durante anos y hoy fui a comer me familia el servicio malisimo 1 hora y 18 mts para comer mando a llamar al manager llega con una actitud grosera a la mesa yo soy duena de negocios aca en Miami y el servicio Es lo 1 ya Que nos debemos a Los clientes da verguenza que tenga un manager sin education Que no sabe resolver problemas solo busca clientes insatisfechos con actitud super grosera, areogante brusco no de Que mas decir de esta persona Que ni respeto Que soy una Sra embarazada, total Que desagrado obvio Que ya no ire mas. A el dueno atencion con esto porque cuando un cliente se queja 10 se van sin decirlo lastima Que este manager de hammocks no acepta criticas porque lo esta haciendo mal la verdad las mesas se quejaban y la mesera pidiendo excusas. El manager Es para resolver y ayudar a resolver problemas no para ser grosero y Faltar el respeto cuando no te lo faltan a ti «««.

Súper mala experiencia!!! Traje a mi familia de Perú para que probara y primero me trajeron la ensalada a mi tía le trajeron su sopa y luego el roll a mi esposo y mis suegros no les llegó la comida hasta más de 30 min el mesero (súper atento) dijo perdón pero solo hay 1 cocinero … UN JUEVES POR LA NOCHE … Y cuando le trajeron la comida estaba fría por ende la tuvieron que volver hacer… Eso jamás me ha pasado en el de la 40 st
Más nunca regresó a este … No le pongo 1 estrella por que mi ensalada estuvo buena y la atención del mesero fue excelente…

I’ve only ever ordered delivery with them but I’ve never been disappointed. Though, I wouldn’t order the chicken teriyaki again. It tastes good but the portion size was not worth what I paid for. I would order the fried rice again! I love it! And for rolls, I’ve only had the Angel and Miami Heat roll and I love it! Will continue ordering from here again!

The coldest beer in town except at Gios House !!! The miso soup was great with lots of tofu it was delicious !! The sushi was good but it had too much rice,

Extremely highly overpriced if you’re looking to get good prices don’t come here at all everything is overpriced it is OK but I’ve honestly gone to cheaper sushi restaurants with just as good quality or even better that are more reasonably priced

Every time I come here something wrong happens, they either over charge me or forget to give me something today it took 30 minutes to get food sitting down. Servers are in their own little world and my food was sitting on the counter for like 15 mins very upsetting service for such high prices. Go down the street to Ruson way better.

I travel allot for business so I visit many restaurants. I came across this small but vey high end ambiance sushi place and WOW was I really surprised. Store was extremely clean, had a new age décor with great music and had plan plentiful selection on the menu. The restrooms were cleaner than my home’s and I’m a super clean and neat guy. The service was perfect but I was there for lunch so not sure how they handle the evening rush. The food was really really good. Definitely will come back and recommend this place to anyone.

This review only reflects this specific location. I have been to a few other and the food is good and service is ok. However the two stars for this place is thanks to the absolutely horrible server we had that day. We were a party of 6 and from the second we sat down we had issues with the service. The waitress had trouble taking our orders and getting it right. She kept bringing out food and drinks we had not order and at one point argued with us about the stuff she was bringing. To top off the night when the bill came she had charged us for a few of the items we had not order not eaten. It truly ruined our dinner experience and I personally wouldn’t go back to this location.

Great food

Came here for lunch and it’s very expensive. A bowl of rice, small portion of chicken teriyaki, and mini coke can. $ 16.00.
Service is very good and the restaurant is very nice, but not a lunch spot.

Diverse sushi options, fresh taste, decent portions, and reasonably priced for when you want sushi. My favorite roll so far is the Miami Heat Roll, would like to try to taste them all. However the only thing I don’t like is the music videos blasting so in this case if it isn’t too hot outside I prefer sitting outside.

Dining in I would not be able to rate; however tried to place an order for delivery and on the first attempt I was on hold for 10 minutes having to call back. On my second attempt I was actually hang up and not giving up and giving the benefit of the doubt… called again explained what had happened and the leafy tells that for delivery it would be more an hour wait and if I still wanted to place the order. Could if they just told me that from on the first call. Truly the sense of good customer service is inexistent.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! One of my favorite sushi restaurants in Miami and I’ve gone to ALOT. There’s about 6 sushisake but this one is my favorite and again, I’ve gone to all them. Everything from the alcohol to the appetizers to the desserts are awesome. The rolls are awesome. Miami Heat, Yummi, wahoo crunch, Margaret, Kendall. They’re all good depending on your preference. The decorations are really modern and really set the mood for any type of occasion. Highly recommend this restaurant.

When me and my date entered this place, we were surprised how small the place was, but it didn’t affect how great the customer service was. Our server was great and helpful with our options. The food was delicious and the place was very neat for an amazing date.

I’ve been to the one in Brickell but had no idea there was one in Kendall. Super sweet server! I ordered my fave, miso/​egg drop soup which was delicious as always and enough to share. He had the Miami Heat Roll and I had the Tiger Roll, both very good. Went through 2 tall sakes and 4 beers as well. Fast service, good food and dope décor. I’m not too into chain spots, but this one passes.

Great service and delicious rolls.
Kendall Roll and UM roll are definitely my favorites. I’d stay away from the Miso Soup though… just tastes like water.
The Sashimi appetizer is great bang for your buck. 9 THICK slices of sashimi for $ 14.
I usually add a bowl of brown rice to this for just $ 3.
No delivery after 12:00 midnight. Open until 1am some nights, which is pretty convenient in the Kendall area because most places close at 10pm.
Kani Su: No rice. instead its krab, avocado and masago rolled in cucumber drizzled with rice vinegar. Good low cal. appetizer.
The Margaret Roll (Tuna, Salmon, White Fish and Krab topped with «spicy tuna» which means its topped with tuna slice and drizzled with a spicy red sauce. The roll was good but the sauce was not. next time I’ll get it without the spicy sauce. it reminds me of ketchup. .why is there ketchup on my sushi? bleh
