I used to love this place, we’d order from here all the time. This past Saturday, we called to place an order for pickup. We asked for a side of garlic butter, which is not a normal side, and told it would be a dollar extra. That was perfectly fine with me. Later, when it gets picked up, we see we were actually charged $ 4, for butter. Thought it was BS since we were lied to but let it go. Get home, start eating my food, and I find a long black hair in my food… Turns out that’s what the extra $ 3 charge was for, except I don’t remember asking for it. This will be the last time we order from there.

Im giving 4 stars because of the Tostones with shrimp on top. The tostones were fire!!! BUTTTT … It only brought 3 tostones which i think for an appetizer that usually ppl share it was kind or small. At least give me 4 so we can have two each. Also even though they were really really good they were a little overpriced($ 10.50) for 3 tostones and one of them was really small lol. Im just saying its a must try but you gotta consider those other two things too. Everything else was pretty good and the service too! I only wish that plate could have a set of four instead.

I eat a lot there because to be truthful the food is not bad, Now the reason for my review is that they are overcharging the customer in each transaction. The sale tax is 7% according to Miami Dade Tax Collector but in reality they are charging 8%.This is the second time that it happens to me. When we noticed they told us that it was an error on the machine and that it was going to get fixed so we left it alone. A couple of months later I got a bill for 36 even and I was charged 2.88 which is 8% instead of 2.52. I called and double checked what was the percentage and they even said that it was 7%, It comes out to pennies but they are misrepresenting the local tax.

I love sushi sake. Today, I was craving their great food. Unfortunately, I won’t go there again. The service is just getting worse by the minute. Every single time I go there it takes forever to get either a server to attend to us or our food. I was there 2 days ago and it took over 45 minutes for my children to get fried rice. I had to go twice to tell them that I had not received my food. It was impossible. They kept saying it was coming and another 15 minutes later I had to go an tell them my kids a 5 and a 6 year old couldn’t wait any longer. I saw a the lady in another table go through the same thing. How sad, I truly like their food.

I’m always in the mood for sushi and this place is great! I’m not gonna lie I’ve only tried a couple rolls from here(the dragon and JB) but they were both so good no complaints! A+!

My boyfriend and I were craving late night sushi tonight. We were looking to place an order for pick up in order to eat at home while we watch a movie. After calling and being placed on hold for 5 minutes, and then being hung up on, having to call back, I was told by the girl that they do not accept pick up orders over the phone — so I had to go there and place the order in person. Quite honestly, they’re not even the best sushi restaurant in the neighborhood. That would be Sushi Corner. But since it is late and there are not many options open, we figured we give Sushi Sake another try to win us over. Never again

Sushi is a 3, staff is a 5. Price and convenience gives it an overall rating of 4 out of 5, a solid choice for good sushi but not a «take a date to impress» place

Good sushi place for late night sushi cravings. Myself and GF frequently visit them. Great soups, apitizzers for late night. Love there Kimche sauce I put it on the sushi rolls, so far the best in miami for me. The sushi is okay, but the rolls I have tried really hasn’t impress me that’s why I’m giving them 3 stars. The miso and egg drop soup is delicious, love it. One thing I recommend is to try the brownie desert it is huge, a must try. But, 5 stars to the service and kitchen they always have given good customer service.

Really good thick sushi rolls and lots of variety. Sake bombs are also good. Service isn’t too good though.

Okay food followed by suuuper sloooow seeeeeeeeervice. Even to pay it took us about 20 minutes waiting for the waitress to pick up the check. She totally forgot about us! The place was unusually cold. The waitress joked that the bathroom was cold, it felt like an icebox in there! Ambiance was totally off, the music super cheesy and didn’t have that same feel as the other locations. If I would have gone to this sushi Sake first, and never tried the other locations, I wouldn’t have ventured into any of their other locations.

Our first time at this restaurant was nothing short of amazing, from the service to the food to the ambiance. Our server Robert was very knowledgeable and nice, and best of all had the best food special recommendations including an off-the-menu, amazingly delicious seafood paradise roll and the most amazing fried brownie dessert We have ever had! We recommend anyone in the neighborhood to stop by and experience Sushi Sake… you won’t be disappointed! Sincerely Ana and Dave

Fried rice is amazing, lobster blast is good. Sushi is good. They even have hibachi, delivery and late night! Great sushi spot in west kendall. Only negative thing is the reggaeton music! Super annoying to be trying to enjoy sushi and have a conversation with a speaker blasting«PUERTORICOOO!» In the background.

Overpriced, rude staff, and I keep finding hairs in the food! Wtf! Bonsai is down the street, same pricing for way better quality of food and nice staff.

Had a very rewarding experience during my first solo visit to this nearby sushi sake lounge. The drinks, food and warm professional staff made me feel comfortable and very inclined to return real soon. The management team and the staff were really attentive and friendly. Thank you to Monica and Sammy(servers), Josh(sake bartender pro), Alex(hostess) and pro Manager-Danny!!!

I have told myself over and over again to stop coming to this place, because I never fail to leave disappointed !! Last time I had a bad experience with my food coming out extremely cold, the manager was very nice and changed the food for us, but our lemonades where BOTH Completely empty for hours and him being the manager he didn’t even bother to get us refills. Fried rice is good. Appetizers are all delicious. ** don’t get the terreaky anything it’s all a ripoff literally 6 pieces of meat/shrimp /chicken and disgusting white rice !** The The rolls are okay. So today I decided to give this place another chance because I was craving late night sweets and I know they do have good desserts there ! I guess the server thought I wasn’t going to tip her good since I was only having a brownie tempura and gave me horrible service… But a costumer is a costumer and no matter the amount on the tab you should always give good service to your costumers !! Anyways, it took her 15 minutes to bring me water refill. And another 20 to bring the check! The desserts here are BOMB though… But when you come to sushi sake at least this location don’t expect to ever get a refill(at least I never have) Oh this place is also EXTREMELY over priced.

Today, was visit #2. I was not pleased with service during visit #1, this was during their opening week, a few years ago. Nothing has changed since then. Today, I met my mom for lunch. My mom arrived earlier, no one came to the table for about 10 minutes. I arrived with my toddler, and asked mom if someone had been by yet, she said no. Shortly after, a waitress comes by. Waitress: Are you ready? (I look around, see if maybe she had dropped some menus or something, and I just had not noticed, nothing). Me: No, just got here. May we have some waters please, and a lunch menu. She comes back 10 minutes later with water, no menu. Waitress: What we would like to order? —still hasn’t provided menus. Me: You never brought the menu. She leaves, brings the menu. She makes zero mom had a few questions about the menu. Mom: what type of fish is Wahoo? Waitress:“it tasted like chicken”. No clear response. If it weren’t because my daughter was starving, we would have left. We end up ordering two rolls and vegetable fried rice. The food was very good, fresh, good portions. Did take about 20 minutes, which is a bit long, considering we were one of the two tables there. Waitress returns: Do you want dessert or something? Me: Sure… can we see the menu She brings the menu, zero recommendations. I decided on tempura oreo, thanks to Unilocal! Will not be returning to this location again. There are some pretty good such restaurants in my area — offering good service.

We normally order take out and for the most part it’s always been good. They should really train their staff to prepare the food correctly. Kani su is wrapped in cucumber but should not have the peel. We’ve requested this roll be prepared correctly several times but we still get it with the outer peel. Disappointed time and time again!

Ordered tuna tartare, sashimi appetizer, Rene salad, shrimp shumai, and kendall roll in brown rice. Tuna tartare: very small portion. comes in a nice coupette but mainly filled with shredded daikon and carrots. Not worth the price honestly. Sashimi appetizer: kind of disappointed in the fact that the slices were still stuck together! It’s a very simple job, just slice the fish… least they could do was slice it all the way Rene salad: this I recommend! A little too much dressing for my liking but the flavor of the dressing was good. Some type of sesame seed mayo-like creamy dressing. Portion was decent Shrimp shumai: cheap frozen packaged flavor but this is what I expect from a place like this. They serve it with spicy mayo(almost everything has mayo! And then we wonder why America suffers from obesity lol). I asked for ponzu and they charged me $ 1 extra. Kendall roll: I love this roll, lots of protein and tasty with brown rice. I like that they don’t make it with too much rice. $ 1 up charge for brown rice as well. Overall, you get what you pay for. I like to come here only because it’s the only sushi place that’s open late at night. Good place to pass by for a late night meal. Service is whatever though. My shumai was already cold by the time I had a chance to ask for ponzu and when I asked for water refill cuz our glasses were empty, the waitress just bought a bottle and put it on the table. So I had to serve myself

I visit this Sushi Sake restaurant often and always order the Chicken Teriyaki. However, during my last visit with my fiancé we ordered the Chicken Teriyaki and the Calle Ocho Roll. For those that are not from Miami, this is a Cuban inspired sushi roll. Now I’m not into sushi but we decided to give this one a try. It has a fried plantain on top and inside is has ham croqueta with two other things(see pictures). It was actually really good and we both enjoyed it. I recommend you try this roll too!

The décor is elegant. But, the place is more expensive than the two stars shown on Unilocal. We just paid over a $ 100 and the food was not that impressive. The hibachi shrimp was overcooked. It’s not white rice as shown on the menu, it was fried rice. The most annoying thing was a part of the staff talking like«balseros» and using foul language.
