This is a kosher restaurant. The cheese on the pizzas is vegan and the ‘meat’ really isn’t. However, this is awesome! The have something called a sampoche which is a puff pastry pizza which is amazing! The bowls of soup are fabulous. My favorite is the pea soup. They so their own baking so there is always a fresh selection of desserts to choose from. I’m never disappointed.

I remember first eating here in high school years ago… it was delicious then as it is today! Note to the goyim — ahem, gentiles — it is a kosher pizzeria, so if you’re looking for a meat-lover’s pizza, fuhgeddaboudit!(They may use a veggie-protein substitute instead that doesn’t violate kosher food preparation rules.) I’m not a vegetarian, but their veggie protein burgers are not bad. But pizza is their forte.

The only problem with this place is that they have to much to choose from. The menu opens up like a novel.

Sara’s is a dream come true for vegetarians. The menu seems to go on for miles and everything we tried was delicious. Our waitress, Miriam, could not have been nicer, and we really enjoyed chatting with her. Be sure to try the specialty drinks. We recommend this cozy establishment without reservation and plan to eat there again whenever we travel to Florida.

I keep remembering this place as a good 100% Vegetarian restaurant and I oftentimes forget that it’s also Kosher until I arrive here and see a bunch of Jewish folks, «Shalom» written everywhere, and some challah rolls on the tables. I have not tried their Italian, Chinese, Cuban, Mexican, or Middle Eastern dishes. Yes, I know this place sounds weird, but… just read on. Anyways… — PIZZAs are good. Alot of the BossaNova(smoked salmon, olives, onions, cream cheese) pizza toppings will roll over or fall out unless if you fold the slices over and stuff it into your mouth. Think of the four slices as four yummy wraps you can make. — BURGERS and SANDWICHES are good(and gosh, they need to start subbing the potato chips for something else — see the last review). I had the fried tilapia sandwich and that was good. — WRAPS could be slightly better — it’s the bread. — SMOOTHIES are thick and creamy. — ORANGEJUICE is made fresh. — CHEESEBLINTZ — avoid. The dough tastes a bit sweet in a funny way. I didn’t like it. So yes, stick with burgers and pizzas — they are what seems to be popular here, and rightly so. I wouldn’t mind coming back!

I do wish there was a restaurant like this in the Bay Area. On a recent trip to my old stomping grounds, I was thrilled to see that Sara’s is still alive and kicking. I had a middle eastern platter — hummus, tahini, falafel, an egglplant/tomato dish, a few others — and some of the most delicious pita bread. It was wonderful. My partner had a vegurito which she said was a falafel burger; she liked it too. She ordered a cappuccino which was just not up to far; she thinks it was from a mix. So much food with very reasonable prices. And the ambiance is so fun — almost every man in the restaurant had on a yalmulke — and everyone(but us) was told«good Shabbas» on their departure. I guess I don’t look Jewish. ;-(We just don’t have this kind of culture in the SF Bay area. There are all kinds of meat substitutes in the dishes but I was surprised they didn’t have soy milk for my tea.

OK so they make NY style kosher pizza and really great Scicilian pizza too. Ask for the garlic bread, it’s a huge challah bread roll with gead chopped garlic and loads of butter. I wouldn’t normally reccommend kosher food to the general public, but they make a veggie burger called a «Schmopper» which is unreal, and they make loads of other«chick’n» foods catered towards veggies.
