I’m giving 5 stars with some reticence. Matthew is amazing yet I’ve recently learned he left the salon without providing info on his whereabouts. Anyone know where he went?

I am very happy with hair cut and service at this salon. The salon is very clean and beautiful and classy. I love the French owner! Stylists are fantastic do great haircuts and really make great suggestions for damaged hair. I get tons of complements on my hair thanks to Salon No 1!

Amazing talented staff! Matthew is the best. Always beautiful when I leave! The only place i’ll go! Very fun staff!

Michaelangelo is the greatest hairstylist I have ever found! He does great color and even more amazing hair cuts! Only problem, it’s gotten a bit too expensive.

First of all, I have to agree with all of the positive reviews. I have been going to this Salon for quite some time and the sylists are great and the owners really go out of their way to have a clean, sheik, friendly and fun environment. My stylist is Michael but Mathew has stepped in when Michael was out and they both do a great job!
Secondly, the Salon is not located in Little Haiti! I don’t know if the first reviewer doesn’t know MIami very well or if Unilocal labled the neighborhood incorrectly but I want to correct that misconception.
The Salon is located in the Upper East Side neighborhood of Miami in an area with an ever inreasing number of boutiques and chef owned/​inspired restaraunts like Michy’s, Blue Collar, Anise, Red Light and Balan’s (okay…Balan’s has 3 locations and isn’t a chef owned boutique restaraunt but it’s still fun to hang out there). If you go to the salon leave time for a nice lunch or if you on a Saturday morning make time to stop by the farmer’s market in Legion Park or sit on one of the park benches and enjoy a terrific view Miami/​South Beach accross Biscayne Bay.

Just got home from a wonderful experience from the salon. My hair is short, pixie esc and it is hard to find someone who will do a great job. Mathew was my stylist and was fantastic, I love the cut and will be back to him often.

Back again!
Just finished up another wonderful experience at Salon No. 1. I had waited a little while before I went back so that I could let my hair grow and have a good head of hair to work with :)
Matthew was able to work with me on what i wanted and helped to make the vision in my head happen exactly like I wanted it!
I do not think I can say enough about the great experiences that I have had at the salon and with Matthew and Michael. Great service, excellent cuts and always a fun atmosphere. Can’t wait for my next cut, see you boys soon.

WOMEN WITH CURLY HAIR, READ THIS REVIEW!!!
I have found THE stylist for curly hair in Miami… AND he is a wonderful colorist too!
I moved to Miami three years ago from DC and by chance I won a gift certificate (in a silent auction) for a color, haircut, and blowout with Michael.
For all the women who have curly hair out there, you understand how hard it is to find a stylist that will cut your hair correctly (and give you a hair «style») and not leave you looking like a poodle!
From my first visit three years ago, I have never been let down and my hair has never had a better cut…(which says a lot!)
Michael is also fantastic colorist. I am kinda a wuss when it comes to color and Michael has always understood that about me never trying to talk me into something extreme. I have always stayed close to my natural color with the occasional low lights for a little dimension.
After discussing with him my concern of needing a little less upkeep (because I have dark hair and the grey is very noticeable) I finally decided to get highlights throughout.
WOW. What a difference. I can’t tell you how many complements I have had!
Although I live 500 miles away now, I still go to him every time I am in Miami… When you find a good thing, why leave it if possible!
Oh, one last thing. I also recommend him for the Brazilian Keratin Treatments. I have no more frizzies and I don’t even have to blow dry my hair and still haveperfect spiral curls.
AND it is reasonable! YAY!

I love Salon No 1! The staff is warm and welcoming, especially the lovely, French owner, Ann! Very accommodating! I found them a year ago after my bestfriend and hair dresser of over 15 years move to another state! I was in hair limbo until a friend recommended Michael at Salon1. Since then I have gotten so many compliments on my color and cuts! It’s a convenient location too! You WILL love it here!

The owners of the salon are new to Miami but the customer service is first class. The salon is updated and chic. The manicurist was pleasant and I would be happy to refer clients and friends. Salute

I like the new location of the salon, that just moved three doors up the street, it is more cozy, elegant and the service is very warm and personal. I see Matthew there as my hair stylist and colorist and I love it.
Also Anne, the french owner, brings in a charming parisian atmosphere and the «french» touch… prices are affordable, especially compared to the beach, there is free parking right behind the salon and they use the best products ever including goldwell colors!!! I brought in my nephew and his fiancée from Italy, he had a hair cut and she had a fabulous blow dry… And they loved it!!! You know how picky we are for fashion and style in Italy.
I give it a 5 star rating and warmly recommend it!
