The Ronald McDonald House is a great place and deserves much attention and awareness. Located next to Jackson Memorial Hospital, you may be confused as to their parking. They actually do not have parking, so you can either street park or park in the JMH parking garage(the first 2 hours are free, but then, it suddenly jumps about $ 6.00 for any minute over the first 2 hours). Since I was confused about parking when I came on Sunday, I figured I should do you all a favor and mention this. The purpose of the RMDH is for families who have a child that is ill or injured and need to stay close to their child but cannot afford the mounting costs of a hotel and restaurants while their child recovers. It is a «home-away-from-home» for families so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little or no cost. They feature home-cooked meals, playrooms for kids, and private bedrooms. Families are never turned away. If you’re looking to complete some community service or enjoy helping others, you can contact them for volunteer opportunities. Donations are also very helpful.

Came here for a «Yelp Helps» event. Felt really good to come together and do something meaningful. Some reasons why I still believe in humanity. Got to meet some fellow Unilocalers and we really had a good time. We put smiles on people’s faces and we all came together and helped eachother out. We had a good variety on the menu… especially the salad(inside joke) and the set up was simple and flowed. Everyone was really nice and I can’t wait to get together again to do great things. Unilocal is awesome!

If you’ve lived in Miami long enough, more than likely you’ve heard of the Ronald McDonald House. Having said that, it was nice to see Unilocal team up with the RMHC as a charitable partner for their recent Unilocal’s American Riviera Holidary party at Bâoli. To gain entry to the event, all guests had to donate an unwrapped gift or money to the charity. I opted to give money because I didn’t find the time to stop by a toy store but I definitely appreciated the flexibility and am happy to know that my money will go to a good cause. The individuals collecting the gifts/money were EXTREMELY nice and you can tell they love what they do. I hope this isn’t my last experience with RMHC!
