In Miami, where summer never ends, the magic comes to life when a cold front makes a visit during winter time. La Palma, a Cuban American icon of our varied culture serves hot chocolate and churros to those begging for some warmth. On the very few cold nights that happen in Miami, the neighborhood comes out to defrost in true Cuban accent. «Mami, ponme dos churros y un chocolate» says an old man, holding a cigar mid-lip. After making my own family-sized order of the two, I take a sip of the hot chocolate which is in fact too hot. I prefer to let it warm up and get to a perfect warm thick natilla. Mmm, delicious. The churros are now ready to be dipped is a gooy delicacy. Enjoy.

What can I say. This place is a Pollo Tropical. That name normally comes paired with sticky counter tops, plastic ‘bamboo’ tables, and people preparing food who look like they are silently throwing daggers at you from their eyes. That being said, the food is pretty standard quality for a pollo’. It’s always hot, the sauces are always filled up, and they give good size portions. If you want better service and quality, head to 3 chefs, but for a quick meal without the wait, Pollo’ it is.

Place is so dirty. It was full of nats everywhere. The nastiest pollo ever. There was flies all over the food. Even the bathroom was infested with Nats.

Food was given poorly on the plate with lacking food. when asked to fill the plate like how it shown. manager had a bad face and so did the employee who plated the food. After i made a remark on how poorly the serived me. The employee has the nerve to talk badly about me. I addressed to the manager how unprofessional that was of your employee to bad talk about a customer on front on everyone. Manager smiled half way and said your right. to pretty much diss me. i will never come back here again. Pollo tropical should really look into this location

Food is decent — not my favorite Pollo Tropical but the food is usually at least acceptable. BEYOND slow service! I have been coming here for nearly my entire life and nothing has changed. Drive thru NEVER moves. On top of that, it’s very inconveniently placed and the line interferes with other people navigating through the shopping center, people who are parked but can’t get out because the line is in the way, etc. You literally have to put your car in «park» because it just never moves. Same goes if you go inside… expect to wait a lifetime. I’ve gone to several other Pollo Tropical locations that are just as busy. Somehow, those manage to work really quickly and lines are totally bearable. This location needs to get it together!

The drive thru service is fine. It is a little hard to be in line when it’s busy cause you stick out into the parking lot. The counter service is awful! The employees argue among themselves in front of the customers and the manager ignores it. Took longer to get my food with one person in front of me than if I had stayed in drive thru with 5 cars in front. Food is good service is bad.

Be careful with the food here because the chicken was undercooked and you can get food poisoning. This wasn’t the first time this has happened.

Drive thru line takes forever!!! Servings of chicken could be bigger. They always forget your sauce or utensils. More locations should exist.

Never coming here again, asked for No rice on the tropichop, and I got rice with no lettuce. Asked for a side of chopped chicken and what I got was maybe half of one. it’s embarrassing for the manager of this place. Don’t waste your time, the pollo on coral way and 73 is MUCHBETTER!!!

I come here a lot and I can tell they have improved in the waiting time. Food is still great and cheap can’t complain.

I am new to Miami and was looking for palace to grab something quick to eat. This place is a gem. The chicken, roast pork and ribs are all freshly cooked. I had the chicken breast platter with rice and beans. The chicken was tender, the rice cooked just right as well as the beans. They also give you a good portion for the price. I tasted my friend’s roast pork and it was juicy and tasty. They also have a great assortment of sauces, fresh jalapeños and raw onions. The only reason I did not give this place a five is that the service is a bit slow and feels disorganized. I am not sure why other reviews are trashing the place. I’ve been back three times already and would recommend this place. e

This was my first visit. They did a great job taking my order; but I have issue with the drink dispenser. The problem with the dispenser: No Ice, Mountain Dew has no color or flavor; ask at the service counter, and a man behind the prep counter can forward, where I show him the soda, and all he said(all that I heard) «No Mountain Dew». Like it was not an issue, like it is normal to run out. Back at the dispenser I found my second choice sweet ice tea empty, like it is normal to run out. I ended up taking third choice, which I trashed. Basically, I paid for trash. If there is a next time, I will just take water.

Never again. These people don’t care that their drive thru takes about 20 – 30 minutes on average. Stay away. I’ll goto 3 chefs from now on. Management doesn’t care one bit. Doesn’t help that they only have one menu in the drive thru lane so people get to the microphone and they still have no idea what to order

Food is good but drive thru takes forever and they are really consistent about being slow. Not uncommon to see 1000 cars in the the drive thru line! I keep coming here every once in a while because I just don’t know, it calls me, lol. Management needs to improve on this otherwise I may just drive to 3 chefs every time! We are doing you the favor coming to eat here so act like you’re just a little bit appreciative!

Horrible service, workers are rude and unhelpful. They don’t show that they care for there customers. They are very unorganized. I’d rather drive to a further pollo tropical then drive to this one to get food.

Parking at this place a is nightmare! So is the drive thru. The place is always packed no matter when you go and the service is slow. It takes forever to get your order and the majority of the time the order is wrong. On this particular round there was no seats available which I don’t know if it is a good thing or bad thing. The employees can be rude and they rush you thru everything. English here apparently isn’t required.

Pollo Tropical is mediocre to me. It’s kind of like Chipotle… only chicken. You can choose a chicken meal with different sides, fajitas, or a bowl with chicken, lettuce, rice(basically like a burrito bowl at Chipotle). I have to say, I wasn’t very impressed with the service. The ice tea was almost out, they didn’t have lids for the drinks, and for being fast food it wasn’t really that fast. My food was good(except the quarter of a chicken wasn’t really that much food once you take off the skin and fat), and I love the different dipping sauces they have. That is definitely something different I haven’t seen at other places. Overall it’s pretty cheap and is good for a quick meal.

The food is good But it takes FOREVER for you to get what you ordered. Sometimes I wonder if they are actually killing & de-feathering the chicken I ordered. (Doesn’t bother me but) Most of the employees are spanish speakers Could use some improvement

Okay, so I want(crave) yuca bites. prolly mostly to act as a vehicle to get that yummy cilantro-garlic sauce(my new love), to my mouth. I pull through the drive-thru, see an ad for them,(drool)…order a small portion. to be told that they’ve been discontinued. Aw well. all good things… So I order a small yuca fries with cilentro-garlic sauce… Get to window and am told by guy. «that’ll be $ 12.09 please.» Say WHAT?.. HOWMUCH??? «$ 12.09″ Why? “What do you mean, why?» Well, I just ordered a small yuca fries. They can’t be $ 12.09. «They don’t come free… and they don’t come with the chop-chop». I didn’t order a chop-chop…I don’t know what a chop-chop is. I just ordered yuca fries. « “You ordered two chop-chops and they don’t come with fries». Nooooo. I just ordered a small fries. That’s all. «Well who ordered the chop-chops,(peering into car looking for other person.). I am alone. I have no idea but it wasn’t me. «Okay… that’ll be $ 6.38» What the hell for? «One chop-chop and fries». Look.read my lips. I ordered a small fries, ONLY. NO chop-chop or anything else. «Okay. that’ll be $ 3.00… …and after all that, he forgot the damn cilentro-garlic sauce. Grrrrrrrrrrr …and to top it off, Last week, I saw Yuca bites advertised in the window of the Pollo Tropical on about 80th and SWUS1. Pulled in and got some!.. AND3 sauces! Guess they made a comeback!
