I began my treatment with Dr. Cupo three years ago. My estimated treatment time was 18 months. Did I miss a couple of appointments? Yes, when I fell ill I did. The problem with this place is that they appear to have taken on so many patients that they don’t have time to do anything significant for you when you do come in. I felt rushed in and out once I was seen. Oftentimes even with an appointment I could be waiting over an hour to be seen, and every time I go another person in the waiting room is asking if they should just come back at another time/date since they’ve been waiting x hours. Further proof that they have scheduling problems is that instead of being seen every 4 weeks I was given appointments 6 to 8 weeks out, unacceptable. When I got a month out from my 3 year mark I decided to start preparing to go to a different orthodontist to finish my treatment because they were no longer doing anything to finish the final touches on my smile, I’d just be rushed in and out, no new wire, just«keep wearing the bands» even though I did. When I spoke to Dr. Cupo about my concerns he was completely unprofessional and told me if he had the time he’d remove my braces right then and there but he’ll just have to wait til next time I come in. The dental tech said«continue wearing the bands and we will see you at your next appointment and see if they should come off» to which Dr. Cupo RUDELY resounded«No. It is not IF, they WILL be coming off.» I did speak up and told him I didn’t want him to take my braces off without completing the work because I’d already paid them in full almost two years ago and I’d already had them on so long but it’d been twice as long as my estimated treatment plan. Not once have my brackets been rearranged to align my teeth. I’ve been asking Dr. Cupo to do this for the last couple of appointments so that my front tooth can align with the rest and he flat out refuses. He’d rather put some dents in a wire and call it a day even though they’ve been doing this for a long time and clearly it is not having the desired affect. More than anything he seems to be so overwhelmed(perhaps too many patients, Dr?) that he doesn’t care to have any manners or consideration towards his patients. I can’t believe he told me so blatantly he just wanted me out of his hair. I’ve given up and have told them I want my braces removed. I am considering going to another orthodontist to finish my treatment properly then taking Dr. Cupo to small claims court. It is a lot of hassle so i am not sure if I can/will but I am very motivated to especially after how crudely I was treated for inquiring about my treatment plan and why it had been 3 years instead of 18. If I wouldn’t have asked they’d keep rushing me in and out being seen for 10 minutes after waiting so long in the waiting room and six weeks to be seen. STAYAWAY from this Dr. I’ll also like to add that although I don’t see his partner a female Orthodontist at his office anymore she was very aggressive and also lacked manners. She tried to shift a crooked tooth with so much force that three of my bottom front teeth became so loose they were going to fall out, you could imagine how loose and how bad it was that they actually had me seen RIGHTTHENANDTHERE to removed to pressure on these three teeth. Per their instructions and almost loosing my teeth I was only able to eat soups for weeks until my teeth went back to normal.
