I strolled in here as part of my #DWNTWN pizza tour today. This place is about a block or so from another pizza joint that offers two big slices and a soda for $ 5.50, which I thought was the best around, but Nostra Pizza has matched it(well, beat it by a penny). I liked my slices better than those at some of the other Cheap Pizza Slice Joints around. The tomato sauce was actually noticeable, with a bit of a garlic note. The mozzarella actually had some flavor other than just salt, and the crispy crust smelled a little of real yeast. Not gourmet, but nice for the price. The interior is clean and modern, with seating at two-top tables for about a dozen altogether. There are some stuffed pizza options, and some salads and sandwiches for that person in your party that won’t eat pizza. Recommended for Cheap Eats if you’re strolling around the area. It’s about a block and a half from the Metromover First Street station.

I have never eaten here but called 3 times today to place an order for delivery during their business hours and it goes straight to a personal voice mail each time. 1 star for not giving me the opportunity to try the food. Not worth the effort, menu going in the trash.

I’ve been frequenting SOBE lately and its delicious pizzerias. Eager to find a place closer to home that could satiate my pizza cravings, I walked over to Nostra Pizza on my way home from work the other day(5:45pm). I was hoping to find New York style pizzas on display. Instead, they had stuffed pizza and what looked like a thin crust Sicilian pizza with un-melted cheese on top. However, I looked at the menu and saw slices with all sorts of toppings. It didn’t immediately occur to me that the idea was to ask for whatever topping you want on the Sicilian slice and they would bake to order. I think the fact that they were mopping the floor and that all the stools were on the counter gave me the impression that they were closing and that was all they had left. OK. Enough with that. I ordered a slice of the spinach and ricotta stuffed pizza(crust top and bottom). The crust was relatively tasty and crunchy like I like it. I wasn’t to crazy about the filling. At the end of my meal, I was full, but not satisfied. I had just had a slice at Pizza Bar on 16th and Collins the day before and the bar(intended) had been set pretty high. I will give them another try. I will order the Sicilian slice and hope for the best. The guy in the counter was cool. Cheers!

This one is meh for certain. It only got 2 stars for the stuffed pizza. I placed a delivery order and it was totally screwed up. The stuffed pizza was decent but the regular was no better than a frozen. Definitely do NOT get the garlic bread, its some store bought loaf, cut up and canned garlic thrown on top. Yes this place was cheap, but it shows throughout.

Not bad… so long as you get the pan pizza. My brother ordered a Sicilian style pan pizza with pepperoni for delivery and I just happened to enter the room as it was delivered. Score one for good timing. I went ahead and had a slice of pizza and was pleasantly surprised. I rarely crave a pan style pizza, but when I do I will order from Nostra Pizza again just to double check my findings.

This is a solid selection for downtown lunch. If you want pasta, this is budget friendly. The lasgna is the best you’ll find downtown for $ 7. If you like garlic, ask them to add garlic from the garlic bread topping to your pizza, its free and you wont regret it. A slice of supreme is only $ 4 and larger than a typical slice at Mario’s. This is not an eat in restaurant. They have two tables and a couple of stools.

the only reason why i came into this pizza place is cause i live almost right in front of it and i was hungry. this place is kinda scary, the back of the room is kinda dark and creepy but the pizzas are ok. 10 $ for a large cheese pizza. i had a couple of slices and they were just fine. i added some garlic powder and oregano and it made it so much better. i wish they were open til late at night.

Stumbled in while wandering around downtown. Serves stromboli and stuffed pizza, which is basically crust on top and bottom, so also tastes like stromboli. More topping and less cheese. Not bad.
