It’s NOT a thrift store. It is NOT an antique store. It’s a VINTAGE store. That meaning — these stuff you’ll find here are quality vintage items and accessories. And they have a lot of things for the classy women that are into vintage — NOT antiques. Antiques is an ugly word by comparison(and a dusty one). That being said, there are things for the everyday person as well. Good quality oil diffusers, opera binoculars(yes, even men need them — they’ll fall asleep faster without them), and a classy top hat that you’d only see in Victorian London! And the young female manager at the store is the nicest manager I’ve seen in a long while. I’d return.

Welcome to the vintage store of all vintage stores! This little gem is located at the 55th station right by Andiamo. Only open from about 6PM to midnight, this little boutique will catch the eye of any fashionista girl seeking the perfect accessory piece. The mother daughter team has plenty of quirky pieces from shoes to bags. They do not sell any clothes, but everything in this store is authentic. I wasn’t able to buy anything at that time, but I’m looking forward to coming back and picking out some original pieces.

This shop is adorable. Coming from San Francisco, it was such a nice reminder of home; and it honestly rivaled the best little vintage boutiques in SF. It’s full of great bags, jewelry(both vintage and local designers), shoes, accessories, hats. I even noticed some nice looking vintage shoes for men. I would love if it also had a rack full of some choice vintage clothing(I could just imagine some nice dresses, a few blazers, a couple of 1920s sequined tops), and maybe some more shoes. I love vintage shoes. It also definitely has Miami prices. Everything is just slightly more than what you expect/hope. But, it’s clear that they pay really careful attention to make sure that all of their merchandise is really nice, so, I think that’s worth the money. So excited that I found this place :)

What kind of a store only opens at night? That would be the vintage shop with the perfect name for it called Night Owl. Run by a mother and daughter team(Paloma Soyka and her mom), this vintage boutique is open from 6 p.m. to midnight. The tiny shop is brimming with lots of baubles, bags and shoes. There is no clothing unfortunately, but if you need accessories this is a must-stop. I found three purses I liked. One was a camel leather bucket bag with a side strap for $ 40. It was the perfect day bag. The second was a tiny shimmering gold purse ideal for evening and the last is now in my closet. It’s a black leather Gucci handbag with a giant red and green stripe in the center. It isn’t in mint condition. It does have a little wear and tear, but I think that just added to the look of it. They gave it to me for $ 100. Paloma says the inventory constantly changes and comes from her mother’s shopping expeditions and travels. It’s situated in the outside patio of News Lounge.

So this quaint little shop opened in the courtyard by News Lounge. It’s family owned by a mother/daughter team with fabulous taste. The hours may seem strange, but it’s perfect if you want to browse around while having a beverage at News. The items that are sold are great quality secondhand items such as handbags, jewelry, shoes, etc… These ladies have done all the hard work for you and have scoured consignment shops and thrift stores for these unique items. The first item I purchased was this cute red patent leather purse. I have my eye on a pair of green leather pumps and a GORGEOUS opal and diamond ring. The ring is a bit out of budget for me right now, but it’s going to to be a birthday present to myself this year. Many of the rings they have come from the mother and, oddly enough, we wear the same size! The daughter, Paloma, is always welcoming and fun to chat with. So needless to say, every time I go to News now I enjoy playing«dress up» at Night Owl!
