The chicken is sooo good. Perfectly cooked and nice subtle seasoning. I generally get the salad, which gives you an ENTIRE chicken. I can never finish it, but still, yum. Also love the salsa«sauce». I sub it as my dressing for a delicious healthy lunch.

I get take out from here a few times a week during my lunch break at work. Portions are big and the chicken is perfect. I always get the curry mustard with a half sized chicken platter: grilled chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, curry mustard dressing/sauce. So delicious. The half size is plenty of food, and it ends up being like 5 or 6 bucks. It’s healthier than a lot of the places nearby, and the chicken is flavorful and filling. The employees here are great. They get to know the regulars pretty quickly, and they’re always so nice. This is tough during lunchtime in downtown because there are so many rude people that are in a rush. I really give them credit for always being fast and friendly. I’m not giving this place 5 stars because inside, it’s not appealing at all. One of the reason I get my lunch to go is because it looks like a run down cafeteria inside.

I rarely find myself in the thick of downtown during prime lunching hours, but that was exactly the case recently. I’d walked by Chicken Grill countless times, but had never ventured in until that day. All the staff was super friendly, and incredibly efficient. I think I had my yellow rice and chicken chop(I forget the actual name of the dish) in hand in less than 3 minutes after having entered the establishment. Each chop comes with your choice of 2 sauces, but since I’m obsessed with curry mustard sauce, I just doubled up on that, which was definitely the right decision. That sauce is killer! All told, the meal was huge, even the half-size order! At under $ 8(not including a drink), the price is perfect! There’s plenty of seating if you want to eat on the premises. One warning, however: despite the ventilation, the place can get pretty smoky with all the chicken grilling away — if you eat on site, be prepared to smell like the grill when you leave.

A friend observed to me about this place, «it’s not great, but it’s about what you’d expect for what you pay.» I told her, «Actually, I don’t think so. For whatever reason, the food is under-flavored relative to what you pay.» The chicken is tasteless. The rice and beans is barely flavored. The vegetables are cheapo chopped lettuce and tomatoes – they taste largely of water. They give you two plastic containers of sauce, but it’s not enough. I had to bring a container of salsa from home for the leftovers* just so they would taste like something. All that said, the chicken appears to be of decent quality(excepting the blandness issue), and you can tell that it hasn’t been sitting out forever. It could just use some marinating — or even just some salt. *: a single portion is actually two meals for me. So that helps with the price.

a true efficient assembly line producing great grilled chicken to the massive lunch crowd line.(across the way from the courthouse if you happen to be there for jury duty. so confusing — Chick N Grill vs. Natural Chicken Grill?) better than Chicken Kitchen near the hospital, though they all seem like knockoffs.
