Nails Fun

I see all these poor reviews on here and I have to ask what salon are these people going to? I’ve been coming here for 6 years. It’s right in the corner of my house. I love the attention they give me to each my hands and my feet. My cuticles are always well manicured and my toes are always so soft and perfectly manicured. I read that the original Owner sold it to his brother and left to somewhere but I see the same guys in here that have been here for ever. The two sisters and the two brothers. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because of the price. Now a days, a lot of these nail places have specials on certain days. This place never had any specials and never has any discounts. But I keep coming because whenever I try another place, I am always super disappointed.

Can’t complain, greeted once I walked in and seated immediately. There were a few people here but luckily I was able to be seen as soon as I walked in.
I got a gel manicure. It was done quick which I like. The staff seems friendly — chatty with one another and customers.
Nice selection of nail polish.
Open late on weekdays 9am-​8pm (Sat I believe have same hours as the weekdays) and Sunday’s 10am-​5pm
Will I come back, yes.

So I’m taking back my prior review. I have been going here for a few years now and I feel that they have gotten comfortable with me… No longer is it a quick manicure/​pedicure, now it takes 2 ¹⁄₃ to 3 hours, if some one walks in they stop attending me to help the walk-​in and disappeared for ten mins at a time… The quality of the work has gone way down hill, and the polish doesn’t last… Not worth it any more.

I will never go here again. It is under new ownership. The previous owner George sold it to his brother and he moved to Tampa. I thought I would give the brother a try and not only did he not do a good job (polish on the sides and bottom of each nail on my skin) but, he also got a big blob of dark red polish on my brand new sandals. When I pointed it out to him he swiped at it with his finger making it worse and larger. Then he expected me to pay $ 21 for ruining my $ 40 sandals. We exchanged words and I left paying ZERO. He had a huge pissy attitude and said I was trying to get something for nothing. I told him he should pay me $ 21. I will never go back.

I used to be a regular customer but I no longer go. They have cut me twice. Last time I went he cut me so bad, I kept bleeding and it wouldn’t stop. But what upset me the most is that I told him he was hurting me way before he cut me and he still kept doing it. I actually screamed when he cut me. Then to add more injury to insult he CHARGES ME!!! Not even a hey let me give you a discount. They only want to make $$$$ and care Zero about customers or doing the right thing.
It’s disgusting there, Dirty, dusty! I will NEVER return.

I went for the first time less than a week ago to get a gel mani/​regular pedi. Not only did the lady cut way too much when she was doing my cuticles, and my finger bled and hurt for a while. On top of this, within a week, the nail polish had lifted on 4 nails, and one got caught in some fabric and came right off. That has never happened to me with gel polish. In fact, the reason I always do gel is because they last longer! It was a complete waste of money, and I won’t be going back! Now I have to scramble to find a good nail place before Easter. Don’t waste your time here.

Not very happy with this place. The lady cut my nails extremely uneven and she didn’t even file them correctly. She didn’t even clean my cuticles right. She literally took about 15 minutes to «clean» and paint and my nail polish now has bubbles. When it came to pay, she asked me «how much are you going to tip me?» Which I find extremely unprofessional. Of course I tipped because I always tip no matter what but it’s safe to say ill never go back there. There nothing «fun» about that place.

Disappointed, paid for a GEL manicure on 04÷14÷13 and now it is chipped. THis is not suppose to happen to a GEL manicure after 4 days. The problem is that the nail tech was extremely skimpy with the product. Never again will I go to this location. Even though it is 5 minutes away. I am soooo disappointed.

The male owner of this place does an AMAZING job. They take their time with it, and the polish comes out great, not like other places where they just try to rush you out. One thing I don’t understand is WHY they cut the sides of the toenails it looks HORRIBLE! Next time I go, I’m going to tell them not to do that!

I love this place, this is the best Asian nail salon in Southwest Miami.
The folks are extremely nice, they gave tons of OPI and Essie nail colors, they have their A/​C on and it is very clean.
They have not disappointed me yet: D

Made an appointment for 3:30 and I show up 7 mins late and they already sat someone else. They told me because I was late they now had 2 people in front of me. The lady/​owner was super rude. Why even bother with appointments. Will not return.

NO MORE CHEESE GRATERS!!!
I am very picky when it comes to my pedicures, but that’s only because I know what is and what isn’t good when it comes to what should be done. Cheese graters on callouses is a NO NO!!!
First off, these places aren’t supposed to use them because it’s against state regulations. Secondly, when the cheese grater is used on callouses it makes them go away for a day or two, but then they come back even worse.
I came here based on Alina R.‘s review. She was right about not needing an appointment. I arrived and was taken to the pedicure chair immediately.
Honestly, until the cheese grater moment things were fine. The place is clean looking and the people are nice. But the minute I saw that cheese grater, alarm bells were ringing in my head. Lucky for me, my feet aren’t too calloused so it was quick, but I know for the next 2 – 3 weeks I will be using a pumice stone every day in the shower to prevent the harsh regrowth.
Then when the guy was cutting my nails, I noticed that he cut the sides of my big toe nails. Another NO NO! When you cut the nail vertically like that, it grows back in a way that causes ingrown nails!!! *sigh* I have worked so hard at keeping my feet nice, but today I think all that work just got flushed down the drain. I hope when I get back to my usual nail tech the damage done isn’t as bad as I fear.
The only reason I am giving this place more that one star is because a) the polish job came out very nice and b) some people aren’t as bratty about their feet as me so this place will suit them fine.
I still love you Alina, but on this place we will have to agree to disagree.

I’m not good with making appointments for manicures so this place is perfect because of that. There is always someone available to do my manicure/​pedicure and they all do a very good job. Prices are great, too. They use OPI nail polish, which is my favorite and everyone is friendly. They have those massage chairs/​foot spas for pedicures and I always see them cleaning them between appointments, so that’s a plus.
