I called Miami AC Experts to my home because my issue arose on a Sunday. (A trusted source referred me to another repairman who did not work on Sundays). In addition, Miami AC Expert’s $ 29 visitation fee was low risk.
Miami AC Expert’s technicians correctly diagnosed my problem (a leak). However, they wildly overestimated the cost: first, they offered to fix my problem for $ 1450 while we stood next to my unit; next, at their truck, they wrote me an estimate for $ 1295; and finally, when they drove away, they called me on my cell phone («We’ll come back and fix it now for $ 1,000 if you hire us now.»).
Given the high (and shady) estimates, I wanted to wait for a second opinion from the trusted referral. My referral came over the next weekday and repaired the leak, including re-filling my unit with freon, for $ 360 total.

Steven and his partner, can’t recall his name, were great. They explained everything in detail and why things had gone wrong with my AC. They were quick and made sure to clean up before leaving (which isn’t the norm for a lot of repair people).
Most importantly, I didn’t feel like I was getting ripped off, which is a plus. :)
I would definitely recommend Miami A/C Experts!
