I am not sure how my elderly father got the idea to go to Dr. Levitt but he insisted so we took him and his lady friend. They live in Coral Gables so it was a long haul. My father and his friend both have memory issues and very poor eyesight, walk with canes etc.
Dr. Levitt and his entire office staff were great! The first visit they spent 2.5 hours giving my father and friend not only a thorough check up but were very patient in assisting them from room to room, explaining and repeating for them etc. We were thrilled. The next visit I let my father off outside the office door and then was planning to park the car. Dr. Levitt himself saw us and came out to assist my father into his office and again was patient and sensitive to my father and his special needs. I can’t say enough good things about him and his staff, particularly Josh who we worked close with. We are so glad we found him even though his office isn’t convenient we will continue to see him.

This review has nothing to do with Dr. Alan Levitt ’ s chairside manners or how good he is as a doctor because I wouldn’t know. Dr Alan Levitt came highly recommended so I scheduled an appointment for my 6 year old daughter. I was advised I would have to pay for the exams even though I have insurance since my carrier has given them issues with past claims and I agreed to their terms even though it was out of the norm. I then called to reschedule the appointment for an earlier date since my baby girl has been experiencing constant headaches. I spoke with receptionist and she advised me the soonest available appointment was Monday at 1:20. Dr Levitt’s office is 31 miles from home and although it should only take 37 minutes to get there it took me about an hour. I got to the office, I went to check in and the skinny, older, blond with horrible etiquette working at the counter, advised I did not have an appointment for that day. My appointment was for Friday instead. I am a working mother, I do not live near their office, and I had already taken off Monday since that’s what I was advised. The receptionist was not sympathetic at all. She implied that it was my misunderstanding. She felt the need to advise me there was no way my appointment was on Monday since they were booked as of last week and the patients that were there had scheduled way before me. She did not try to help in any way. As mentioned before she was not sympathetic of the distance I traveled to get to them or the fact that I had a 6 year old little girl with me. It is unfortunate to have such horrible personel working for a Doctor that came so highly recommended since his staff is a reflection of him as well. I am extremely disappointed with this Dr’s office.

I had an excellent experience at this office. Dr. Levitt is extremely knowledgeable and he and his staff gave me a thorough examination. Dr Levitt gave me a great deal of information regarding my optical health. I will definitely recommend people to visit this office and avoid the usual local chain optometrists.

Dr. Levitt is a great doctor. He is very patient, courteous, thorough and it’s equally important for him for you to have a great experience and get the prescription that’s right for you.

I used to work as a technician at this place. Dr. Levitt has one of the best chair-​side manners. He is very thorough with his exams (never rushed) and explains everything to his patients (in English AND Spanish). If you live in his area, I strongly recommend his practice for a full eye exam.
