Within 5 minutes of setting up our tent we were approached by someone begging for food who REEKED of weed. Got a refund and went somewhere else.

There are few tines in my life when I feel like I have traveled back in time to a neighborhood where kids roam free and adults can chat by the bonfire. A place where mangos are free and smores are plentiful. A place where the pool beckons as does the bike trails. This was my experience when visiting a friend who parked her RV. If it was in commuting distance of downtown Miami I would move into an RV and live the simple country free mango life.

Very nice park! I live in the south Miami but not yet in Homestead. This park is the perfect getaway for our area. There are plenty of walking/biking trails. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing kittens, bunnies, snakes, caterpillars, and tons of bird. The park technically does not allow dogs but I have seen plenty on my visits. *** There are tons of stray cats in this park. Be aware that if you take your dog they might get ticks/fleas. When you are between the trees it feels much cooler than in the rest of the park. Plenty of BBQ areas and pavilions for barbecues. Also, has an epic water slide that is open during the summer months. The only reason I don’t give it five stars is because it can be cleaner. The bathrooms are usually locked and people tend to liter.

This place was a run down roach infested park. This is the best that the Miami has to offer, this is why the government is as bad as it is. This was a donated place to Miami Dade and this is what crummy government is good for. It is summer time and the pool was closed. What are they thinking.

I have stayed at the campground in an RV for five months. It is the best campground for value in the Miami area. The RV camp sites are designed to provide a good view of the surrounding park. The view from your camper could be the lawn of the campground, palmetto trees, fruit orchard or a deciduous forest, depending on your location. Restaurants, and grocery stores are within a mile walking distance, mostly through the park. Campground well insulated from urban bustle, with zoo to north, and Larry & Penny Thompson Park to east. Pros: — Views. — Clean restrooms & laundry room. — Pet friendly — Maintenance issues resolved quickly. — Propane service during high season. — High value — Large police presence enhances security — Multiple walking /hiking opportunities on scenic trails within park or walks through campground Cons: — Reservation system not transparent. — Pool not heated in winter time. — Pool only open from 12−6pm Saturday and Sunday.
