I heard this place was small, but let me really stress this to you… THISPLACEISREALLYSMALL. There are two tables on their little patio area and then some seating at the bar. Even the bar that is covered is still open air, so nothing is completely indoors. I would imagine that this place would not be pleasant in the summer. We sat at one of the tables. The other table had a group of drunk people with this huge dog that was slobbering everywhere. I didn’t care, but I thought I’d mention it because pet friendly places can be a deal breaker for some. They kept switching the TVs back and forth between baseball and college football. The manager/owner/person that looked like they were in charge, had his iPod hooked up to the speakers and was playing some late 90s hip hop/R&B. I kinda liked it. Mixed with the crowd and the subtle smell of spilled beer, everything kind of worked as this great neighborhood bar. The menu was okay. Typical bar food, some of it with a slight twist. For example, I got a chicken burger instead of a regular hamburger. It wasn’t very good. My brother’s wings weren’t great either. I’ve heard the food is really good here, so maybe I came in with high expectations. Next time, we’ll order a burger since that seems to be the popular choice that keeps people coming back. Service was slow, but the place was laid back, so we weren’t impatient. Towards the end of our meal though, we did sort of cross that line between laid back and«I think she forgot about us». Finally, some people came in and were waiting on our table, so she ended up taking care of us so they could have a seat. Kingdom would be great for cooler nights with a small group of friends. Beer & burgers in a more intimate bar setting. Food prices were decent, but I didn’t drink so I’m not sure about specials on alcohol.

The crowd at Kingdom is pretty wack and unpredictable. I usually end up here by default because it’s next to my barber shop. They are known for there Burgers which I think are too big. The meat to bun ratio is way off but if you like your patty the size of a babys head with little of everything else, you’ll love it. Not to forget to mention that sides are separate– wackness! Your burgers aren’t that dope to be served solo. This place is a super local, and if you just happen to be in the area, so be it and then you can determine for yourself but trust me… DONOT go out of your way.

One more great burger place, wish they had a/c and was bigger\ Great char-broiled burgers, good fries, friendly staff. Highly recommnded. UPDATE: what a shame we lost this place. I’m sure the Barber Shop next door killed this place. They took up all the parking and had very strange thugs hanging out all over the place…

So, reputed by both the Buger Beast and the Herald to have the best burgers in Miami, I had been wanting to try Kingdom for quite some time, but time is so short these days between Life Is Art and Soul Of Miam(and the regular job). So, after our regular plan fell through we took a free second and ran up to chexk it out. The hamburger is indeed very good, but I dispute the«best» moniker. The onion rings are very good and the french fries are worth driving for. I like the ambiance and location, almost quaint. The staff is nice and service is good. Definitely recommended.

I agree with others that, if the prices were better, this would be 5 star hands down. I have eaten here on multiple occasions and have never had a bad burger. The staff is fun. I am not a fan of can sodas, I’m a fountain guy. I tried the challenge. A 2 pound cheeseburger with a basket of fries and onion rings. I kinda misunderstood, thinking the basket of fries and onion rings were just one basket, not a basket of fries AND a basket of onion rings. Well, that was my undoing. I did the 2 pound burger in under 4 minutes. The onion rings became too much at the time, they were using different onion rings than they are now. I might have a better shot now, the other ones were greasier than these. and the fries became nails once they cooled off, so I lost that time, but with the right strategy, I think I can meet this under 20 minute challenge. In a word, I totally tell people to go here for a great burger, I just wish the prices were a little more reasonable

You hear the word… «Kingdom’s got the best burger!!» You don’t know if the speaker really knows what a good burger is but you hear it enough and you think it might be time to stop just driving by the place. Wow! It’s small! Not the burger of course, but the place. Surprisingly small. No matter, serve me up one of those famous burgers please… with fries, of course. Bartender was cute and smiley but something happened and my fries didn’t come out with my burger. I’m not sure how well I communicate but asking where my fries are and then not eating my sandwich at all seem like they would be pretty good indicators that forgetting my fries is a food crisis for me… not a good time to hang out on the phone with your back turned. Sheesh, at least act like your concerned… or apologize, at least a little? Burger was big and good. Fries were above average. Best burger in Miami? Not so fast. On the best-burger-in-miami rating, this is a 1. I think Nexxt Café has a better burger, in fact — not even a place known for burgers. On the quaint-little-dive-bar rating, we can go with 3. So overall, the will-I-go-out-of-my-way-to-go-back rating: 2.

I came seeking hamburgers! I want hamburgers that taste good! After doing a search I narrowed it down to B&B in South Beach and Kingdom in North Miami. Since it was a Thursday, the pre-party was going to be occurring in SoBe, so we decided to head to North Miami and into the Ghetto. A bit of a drive from downtown, but I was craving a burger. When we arrived, it was typical Miami with the parking. The parking for Kingdom is not limited… it is non-existent. After battling the towing signs, we finally found a space that did not have a parking-ban in place and proceeded to walk back to US1. Kingdom itself has poured its dining experience on to the large sidewalk in front of the small interior structure. It is good they have the sidewalk since the interior of the business is quite cramped. We sat outside and I let the server know we were outside — not because she didn’t show, but because one of us(not I) was smart enough to leave their jacket at home. With menus in hand and stomachs empty, we were rather quick to order our meal: Sprite(x1) Coke(x2) Stella(x1) King(12oz) Burger with Cheddar(plain/medium) King(12oz) Burger with Swiss(plain/medium) Queen(8oz) Burger with American(with lettuce, tomato and onion/medium) Queen(8oz) Burger with Cheddar and jalapeño(medium rare) French Fry and Onion basket Large Chicken Wing Basket(spicy) The server was awesome. She was always on point and very nice. She was dealing with all of the tables(all full) and she wasn’t missing a beat. Our drinks came out and then soon after the fry and onion basket and the chicken wing basket. The french fries were nothing special and I didn’t feel the need to eat to many of them, but I actually enjoyed the onion rings which were cooked all the way through. The chicken wings, while not piquant, had a slight sweet, tang to them and had a fairly decent flavor. I was liking the onion rings and the wings so far. As we were chowing on the appetizers our burgers showed. I must give kudos to the cook as it is obvious that the hamburger patties were fresh — I don’t know that I would call them patties, though. A more appropriate term would be flattened meatballs; but I digress. Everything looked good with my order: meat, bread, cheese, and jalapeños. My mouth was watering. I was shocked with my first bite. It was not cooked medium rare, but a medium well. To top it off, the meat, cheese and the jalapeños were flavorless. This is supposed to be a burger place, no? I didn’t say anything to the other 3 that were eating at the table with me and finished my meal. Nothing changed in my mind. The most telling moment of the night was when the 18y/o at the table spoke. His comment, «It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t anything special. We could have just made this at home and it would have tasted the same or better.» This was said by an 18y/o that eats anything and everything that is placed in front of him. When I heard that, I knew I would not be returning for the burgers. I might return for the onion rings and wings, but to tell you the truth, Tobacco Road tastes better, is cheaper, and is quite a bit closer to wear I live.

After hearing about their world famous burgers, I had to unwind after a long week and splurge. The area is sketchy, and their parking lot is extremely limited, i ended up parking near a school on the street. Of course i ordered the king burger(12 oz) with american cheese and jalapenos. This was 10.50. The fries another 4 dollars. The burger: GREAT, juicy, definitely can taste the char grill, cheese is cheesey, Bun can support the massive burger. was dripping juices while i was inhaling it. What could have improved is if the bun was warmed or slightly toasted. The fries: Good, but not great. A little fat for my likings(prefer skinnier fries), seasoned perfectly with i dono what. Not just salt and pepper, there is an interesting blend of herbs in the seasoning. The fries were fresh out of the frier, hot and crispy With tax and tip.17 dollars. For a burger and fries with no drink. I would give this 5 stars if it was half the price. but at this price point, it would be above average. If im spending 11 dollars on a burger, my expectations are going to go up as the price of the burger goes up. Quickies burgers i would say is slightly below this, but its half the price. I would recommend the burgers here to anyone.

–100 stars Dear Kingdom, I sorry to say that you have succeeded in providing me with one of the worst dining experiences in my life. Not only was your food inedible, your place of business induced a series of gag-reflexes like none other. If I could allot negative stars I would. It was that bad. I heard about Kingdom through a friend of mine(who is a total foodie and has excellent taste) After skimming some reviews on Unilocal about how this is the BESTBURGERINMIAMI, I said why not. I tried not to get my hopes up, but I was ready for a delicious patty of beef. Parking is on the street and you have to walk by a dumpster to get to the place(1st gag). We arrive at the restaurant & it’s a total dump, but I figured what the heck sometimes the best food comes from dive bars(right Anthony Bourdain?) Immeadietly we are hit by a stench that is so thick and pungent it is only rivaled by what you would smell in a horse barn(gag #2). While attempting to figure out how to talk and not breathe through my nose, I signal to my husband to take a seat outside. We sit at the bar window. The waitress was super nice(the only redeeming quality so far) give us menus, takes our drink orders. We check out the menu and decide to go with a burger each(medium) & an order of half fries half onion rings. While waiting for our food the breeze begins to blow and since the back door of the Kingdom is open(into the parking lot with the dumpster) the dumpster/horse barn smell starts crawling up my nostrils(gag #3). At this moment, a mechanic walks in from the back door, his hands and fingernails caked with car grease and starts talking to the waitress in Spanish, neither the waitress nor the old man at the bar speak Spanish, and their heads all swivel in my direction. The mechanic is asking for a drink, I relay this to the bartender/waitress she points to a fridge behind the bar and say«go right ahead whatever you want» and walks away, the mechanic now goes with his greasy hands, chooses his soda and then sticks his hands into the ice machine and grabs himself a handful of ice(gag #4, 5&6). Bartender looks on and doesn’t seem phased. Finally food comes out, first we get our order of half fries/half onion rings. Which obviously comes from a bag of ore-ida frozen food, since they are crinkle cut fries and perfect little rings of onion. And they are covered in raw garlic and parsley or oregano. Not the flavor profile I was expecting, nor do I think it goes with an «All American» type of burger I was hoping to experience. Our burgers come out 10 minutes later. I take my first bite and there is nothing medium about this burger, this is well done plus. And the result is a dry crumbly mess. Not only is the burger overcooked, it has a certain smell that is only attained by cheap fatty meat sitting out in the sun(gag # 7). I assume I am crazy and maybe the stench is getting to me, so I take a second bite, nope its worse(gag #8). So not only is this burger overcooked and a little off, the bun is dry & definitely day old bread. So I decide not to eat it, I was going to send it back, but the waitress was busy singing along to music all while pushing her boobs into the old man’s face and taking self portraits with her digital camera. As I’m waiting for my husband to get the check, a guy walks out from the place next door from Kingdom, stands not 10 feet away from us, stares and starts picking his nose(gag #9) Now I realize this shouldn’t be a reflection on Kingdom itself, but this nightmare is just turning into a game of «what’s grosser than gross». We pay the check, the waitress notices we didn’t eat, and doesn’t ask if there was some wrong, just says«Oh you guys weren’t hungry huh?» & walks away. I run as fast as my legs will take me, my husband on the other hand had chest bump the nosepicker out of the way since he decided to not let my husband walk around him(you know he was doing that dance where you step to the same side, but it was all on purpose) I am happy to report that he walked away booger free. So there you have it, I really don’t mean to be a hater BUT Kingdom is grosser than gross.

Went there on a Saturday afternoon with a friend that lives in the neighborhood. It was a bit late for lunch and a bit early for dinner and the day was hot and humid. Perfect weather for a burger and a beer. We sat at the little bar against the wall and watched some soccer while we ate. My burger was cooked to perfection. The fries and onion rigs were delicious and the beer was ice cold. All in all, a good experience but not unlike many other burger joins in South Florida.

3.5 stars ok i went to kingdom with my parents on sunday afternoon for a late lunch. everything in the design district was closed until dinner so i suggested kingdom, since my brother has been raving about it for years! we made the drive over parked there along 67 street next to a lot of trash with flies swarming and stray cats trying to eat out of the bag(nasty). we walked over and sat at a table, but my mom decided we should switch to the bar in case it rained. so we did. the one and only server/bartender was nice although he wasnt going the extra mile or anything. my parents of course felt very out of place in a dive bar without real table service, actual silverware and plates, etc. but they made the best of it. they ordered some beers(right out of the bottle — for them a shocker) we each ordered a queen burger(2 cheddar and 1 swiss) with a basket of onion rings and fries combo. my dad ordered veggies, lol, which never came out. i guess who the hell orders veggies at a dive burger joint! the fries and onion rings were good but came out way in advance, we were done eating them by the time the burgers came out. so the burgers were good and juicy, definitely homemade by the shape, but my main gripe was that it was too much bread. i guess they buy 1 bun size that probably fits the king better. i had to tear off a lot of bread to make it fit. overall a great little place but i wouldnt call them the best burgers in miami. and i probably wouldnt go out of my way to go again. if im in the area and craving a burger i will definitely stop by though!

I first started eating at Kingdom not long after it was declared the best burger in South Florida by the Herald a couple of years back. Back then, I wholeheartedly agreed with the Herald. But time passed, more people started moving to Morningside, Kingdom became more popular and they started coasting, taking shortcuts and getting by on their reputation. The burgers lost their flavor and juiciness and the beer-battered onion rings were replaced by something akin to Ore-Ida onion rings. It was at that time that I decide to take a break from the Kingdom. I recently had a craving for a tasty, mammoth, gut-busting burger, but Fuddruckers would’ve required a trek across the county and my only nearby options were Le Tub, 8 Oz, and Kingdom. Le Tub and 8 Oz were out of the question for me, so I decided to give Kingdom another try since(unlike those other two) I actually remember enjoying eating there at one point, and I’m glad I gave the old boy another shot. I can say that Kingdom is definitely back. The burger was as juicy and tasty like I first remembered it as well as being absolutely massive. In addition to the 9 oz. and 12 oz. burgers they also now have a 24 oz. «Doomsday» burger — one of those humongous burgers where they’ll give it to you if you can put away the whole thing(plus fries and rings) in under 15 minutes. In addition to enjoying the burger, the fries and onion rings situation has gotten much better. While the onion rings are no longer beer-battered, they’re not the plain Ore-Ida nightmares that they were at one point, either. The fries and rings are now seasoned with a Spanish seasoning that give them a unique flavor that you’re not going to find in other burger places. I’m definitely a fan. For a small burgers and fries joint, Kingdom’s got a decent selection of beers available. If you can find a seat, it’s also a good place to go catch a game, as they maximize the small space they have with 4 or 5 different flat screens showing various sporting events.

Finally stopped by here and I was glad I checked it off my list. However, there was nothing stellar when I went. I was told by someone working there that they’d had some issue that day so I’ll be back to give them a second chance soon on the burgers. The fries were pretty good. Some cool neighborhood people hang at the bar and it’s easy to spark up a nice conversation. They serve beer & wine here and they can put it in you to-go order. Score!

As a MiMo denizen, I finally found my way to Kingdom… and boy am I glad I did. Kingdom is a great bar with yummy burgers, cheese steaks, onion rings, and chicken wings with a total neighborhood-y feel. It’s the type of place where the owner comes up to you, introduces himself and makes you feel at home, which is really nice. There’s also a juke box playing oldies and Top 40 hits and a plethora of TVs tuned into sports and news programs for entertainment. Another plus? I brought my toddler(Yes, to a bar. Whatever.) and she LOVED the music and food and we didn’t feel uncomfortable one bit. The burgers are GREAT as are the cheese steaks andI know we will be going back when we get the itch for a burger, beer and wings.

The place was made especially for me: Great burgers and you have your choice of size, so you don’t have to leave half a 12oz burger. I’ve never had better onion rings… I’ll definitely be hitting up the Kingdom again and again. They had a DJ on Saturday night that had all my friends singing all night long. Definitely deserves the 5 stars. Service was great although I think our waitress was a bit tipsy… but hayyyy that’s cool with me. It’s well priced. We ate and drank like it was the last burgers around. I’ll upload some pics soon.

I’m not a hamburger fanatic, but my boyfriend is so he’s always wanting to check out different hamburger joints. Not sure what people are saying about the service, we had our food out to us in a very reasonable time, and they were attentive. The onion rings were fantastic. Nothing like I’ve had before — not overly greasy, crispy, and the seasoning was good. The burger was cooked just to my liking and was one of the best tasting burgers I’ve had in a while. I know we’ll be going back since my boyfriend is now a huge fan and considers it to be one of the best burgers in miami.

I’d heard about Kingdom before, and ventured there with some co-workers for lunch today. The food alone, I’d give 4 stars, but I had to detract a star because of the incredibly slow service. We decided to sit along the bar instead of outside because we didn’t want to sit in the sun(no awning or umbrella out at that time). We ordered almost right away, but definitely waiting about 40 minutes for our food. Now I don’t mind waiting when I’m at a leisurely weekend lunch or evening dinner, but during the week, at the lunch rush, you need to get your kitchen in gear! Heat up the grill and the fryers and crank that shit out! I ordered the chicken club special with onion rings, and it was very good. The chicken was the chicken burger(also on the menu) — ground chicken formed into a patty and grilled like a burger. It was kind of dry, but the addition of the lettuce, tomato, bacon, and mayo more than made up for that. The onion rings were very good, and the portion was pretty big. A couple people got burgers & they looked delicious & were huge! I tried a couple fries & they were pretty good. Another person got the fish & chips special, and the fish was not what you’d expect — no breading & looked as though it’d just been blackened. The fries were huge though! But, they don’t have any malt vinegar which is just sacreligious when you’re serving fish & chips. Overall, it was a good lunch spot, just not if you have time constraints. But I’ll be back — to try the burger, for sure.

Really good burgers! Kinda hard place to find since the sign is parallel to the street but once you do, you will love it. I heard the cheese steak was also incredible so its more than just a burger joint. Really cool vibe and all that plus you can watch a bball game with some nice sized TV’s i can’t wait to go back but with the size of the burgers and the great fries that they have, I have to pace myself

I thought the burgers were pretty good in the sense that it looks well-executioned. Plus, it’s not often that someone asks you how well you want the burger meat to be cooked. I picked queen-sized burger, and asked that it be cooked to «medium,» and well, it was medium alright, but it was also burnt on the outside… kinda weird. I think they just had it hot. This might be a mistake — so I’m willing to overlook that. The reason? Well, because it is a well-executed burger. If I had to pass this burger around to the judges in a beauty pageant, it would easily become Miss Burger USA. It looked exactly what a perfect American burger should look like — and it looks fresh too, including the meat. So, for an American burger, this place actually ranks high in my book, especially if I pardon their burnt medium-cooked meat. Also, I didn’t have any service problem that the other reviewer experienced… so maybe it was the owner’s bad day. The atmosphere is that of a small neighborhood outdoor bar… very chill, and very local. REVISITED3⁄2008: Enjoyed the burger, it was good. So were the yummy french fries. The only thing is that it is not that cheap to eat out there often. A cheeseburger is 8.50, or 10.50 with fries.
