Um… Unilocal sends me a note on 8÷07÷14 telling me they noticed I’d just visited Julio’s Natural Eats and what did I think? I think I would have very much liked to have visited it… unfortunately it closed about a year ago… and I had reviewed it! Next question?

Julio’s– 3 strikes, you’re out! I gave this review 1 star due to the management, not the food. Service is slow, they’re always out of something, and they’re closed at ridiculous times. I live in walking distance and have walked to this place 3 times and they’ve been closed all 3 times with some stupid note on the door. Today it was closed for kitchen repairs. I can’t deal with this place anymore. I will drive to Miami Squeeze, Miami Juice, Juice & Java or even all the way to Juice Therapy(in Cooper City). Julios– you need new management or you need to close down and make room for a health food restaurant with excellent service. This kind of food is too expensive to deal with your foolishness.

I am by no means a vegetable lover, be it in solid or its more trendy liquid form.(I am looking at you cleanses). I used to be the kid who would find new and ingenious ways to make them disappear off my plate. Since those days, many things have changed and my relationship with vegetables has morphed into more of a healthy respect. Whenever I am up this far north I try to hit this place up for lunch. It serves a wide variety of salads with unique great tasting combinations. They also serve plenty of add ons such as chicken, salmon, tuna and snapper. There is nothing better than the taste of something fresh on a hot summer day and this place has that in spades. There are also plenty of juices for those of you who prefer to have your fruits and vegetables on the go(wrestling alligators or just driving to work) The food is prepared fresh so it’s a bit of a wait but how does that saying go…

Very new and clean. I ordered a celery, cucumber, and pineapple juice and one of the daily specials which was grilled salmon on the bed of organic quinoa with some steamed broccoli and a light coconut curry sauce. If I had not gotten the Unilocal deal($ 10 for $ 20) my meal would have come out to $ 24 after tax. Even after the deal was put in the check I still had to pay $ 4 plus tip. Although the food was good I think it is a little on the pricey side. I would return but maybe next time I wont get a special(they rance $ 14-$ 16).

NPS = 7 Good for healthy on the go. The food was alright… it basically tasted like something I would cook at home. A little bit on the expensive side, but I had a Unilocal Deal certificate to use(50% off). For me, this place was convenient because it is right in my work territory. I can eat healthy and not have to settle for something greasy while I’m working. The only thing is… again…it is pretty pricey for what it is if you do not have a gift certificate/coupon. I tried the healthy Cuban salad and a cup of fruit. It wasn’t mind blowing but it was alright. The salad had spinach, rice, beans, and chicken. I wish it would have come with some wild exotic vinaigrette on the side or something… surprise me. I recommend coming to this place for just that… healthy on the go.

Food: The salmon was spiced and cooked to perfection and the steamed vegetables were as well. The waiter brought me some sauces for the vegetables. Healthy and seriously delicious. Smoothie was fresh fruit: kiwi, strawberry, pineapple and one other i dont recall but they have an enormous variety and you can have any combination you care for from ginger celery spinach to mango pumpkin — delicious of course. Price: My steamed salmon and vegetables and a small fresh fruit smoothie to go for later came to $ 19.45. I felt it was a good value. Fresh fish isn’t cheap and I got a smoothie as well. Service: Very good. There were not a lot of customers at the time of my visit but definitely given the exact service I asked for, no question. My demands and expectations were met. Caveat: I came there after the gym specifically looking for fish and veggies. At first, I was told they were out of salmon though. I can’t speak for their other food. Conclusion: if your looking for fresh, delicious and healthy to boot at good prices and service; I doubt you can beat this place.

This place was PACKED for lunch. Located in a strip mall right off of Miami Gardens Drive this is a nice spot to have a quick, healthy lunch. After searching my Unilocal app I came here with my mom, who wanted to take me out to a quick lunch. The waitress was super nice and attentive. We shared the stuffed avocado. It comes with tuna salad or chicken salad. We got the chicken. It’s a hass avocado cut in half and a scoop of chicken salad in each. The chicken salad isn’t drenched in Mayo and there is basically no salt on the entire dish. That’s a common theme here. I had the buffalo mozzarella with tomato on a flat bread. Once again no salt. I asked the waitress for the salt and she brought it over but explained they didn’t add much — if any — salt to the dishes. I get it… it’s better for you. But when I sprinkled a little salt on that cheese it took it to a whole new level! It comes with 4 quarters, almost like a mini pizza. Mom had the veggie burger. She loved it and it was her first time having a veggie burger. I really liked the food and the prices were really reasonable. Will come back to check it out again!

It was a Saturday when I decided to use the groupon I bought for this restaurant: $ 10 for $ 20 in food. My adventurer spirit was in high mode, so I set up my Garmin with Julio’s address and headed to the Miami Gardens area. Not disappointing at all. Julio’s Natural Food was a pleasant surprise. I had the Quinoa with grilled salmon and the portion was huge. The salmon was juicy, well marinated and I felt suddenly happy. The place was almost empty, so the service was pretty fast. I will definitely go back to this place. I need to try one of their famous natural smoothies.

Sorry but… several things have made this, at the very least, a non-in-house dining option for me – hence the 2 less stars compared to my previous review and rating. It could’ve been 3 less stars or a 2 star rating for many Unilocalers here, I’m sure… The food still tastes good, but service has declined tremendously. The staff before was friendlier and somehow didn’t seem as frantically busy and unable to take your order in timely fashion as they were before. They also had a different cook before, who was not only faster in the kitchen but very pleasing. For months now, I’ve been going in and trying to order a tuna steak that they permanently have on the menu. I must’ve asked for it 3 to 4 times. One of the last times I ordered it, the cook was so bummed out that he couldn’t serve me what I ordered, that he made me the most delicious plate of grilled veggies in coconut oil on the house, which he didn’t really have to do, and it was such a sweet gesture. Keep in mind this is the old cook, the one that no longer works there. The next several times I went that he was no longer working there, I ordered the plate of vegetables to pay for of course, yet no one was ever able to make it. Ok. I get it. It wasn’t on the menu. Understandable. I still miss the previous staff including the cook and servers, but OK. On that same note about their ever unavailable tuna steak, I went in yesterday and ordered it. To my surprise, they had it! After months! Awesome! [record scratch] NOT! I ordered rare and it came medium well, and it was the tiniest sorriest piece of fish. I waited over a half hour for my food, and I was starving so hard, I felt I had a hole in my stomach. The girl behind the counter, who seemed more concerned with the client that had just walked in to order take-out, turned around and asked if everything was ok, and as I said it wasn’t, she just stayed where she was looking. I had to call her so I could explain, which reflected a little bit of «I’m-in-a-hurry-just-yell-it-out». Now, honestly, as much as I didn’t like it, it honestly can’t be that every single person hired behind the counter is genuinely inattentive. I really think either the staff is not splitting the work 50/50, or there simply ISN’T enough staff behind the counter. From what I’ve read of other Unilocalers here, the consensus seems to be the latter. The girl behind the counter apologized and took the plate back and I just told her to fix me a grilled salmon, which magically did NOT take 30 minutes to be done, but rather about 5 minutes. She brought the plate around… I wasn’t even sure it was salmon. Salmon is supposed to be a little more pink and this fish looked pretty white, so I asked her if she could ask in the kitchen if it was salmon before I took a bite off. She said the owner had to see it again.(???) So she took my plate back yet again. The owner came out, long serious face, no smile(by which I was very surprised, because it totally wasn’t what I had experienced from him before), no apologies about the tuna and the entire delay ordeal, and in fact, he approached the counter as he said«Well, if you don’t think that’s pink enough, I don’t know what to tell ya» and just put the plate in front of me. I was NOT in the mood nor had the time for an argument, so I just said«Oh, really? Ok.» Could he have been having a not-so-great day? Sure. Most likely, to be fair. But I waited around 45 minutes to have a plate in front of me and I was STARVING. A little tact would’ve been nice. At this point, I wasn’t gonna have an argument with the guy nor send my plate back, so i devoured it. I literally had not eaten anything other than water ALL day and it was past 7pm, and I had just come out of the gym. When I was done, he came and picked up the plate himself, and upon seeing I ate my food, he THEN smiled and said«Oh, good, you liked it.» A little too late, of course. And on the food itself? I had the Julio’s Rice with the salmon. The salmon was just okay(bland and pale) and although it says the Julio’s Rice comes with sliced avocado on top, mine came with none. I’m not gonna say don’t eat from there, but I will strongly suggest to do take-out, or if you’re eating it there, order your food in advance over the phone at the very least. And yeah, don’t bother with the tuna steak.

If your looking for fresh wholesome foods this is the place. The service was a little slow and the place wasn’t even full. I got the Unilocal deal so I was feeling more patient then usual. The ingredients are really fresh and it’s e kind of lunch that you don’t feel greasy and bloated after which was really nice. The portions aren’t small either, it’s healthy and delicious. The smoothies all looked awesome but I could only have one so I hope to try more in the future.

This place is AMAZING! I’m no health food junkie & this is straight up GOOD, even if it IS good for you. Super nice staff, great recommends(famous quinoa salad with liquid amino is off the chain!) tofu cheesecake, espresso & mocha to go were no-brainers with the current $ 20 for $ 10 Unilocal dealio!

My friend had told me about this place and I looked it up on Unilocal and yah there was a deal for $ 10 for $ 20 worth of food. So I decided to go for it. This place is not close to my house but I decided to give it a whirl anyway. I drove about 20 mins to get here, called in my order before for pick up. I ordered a smoothie, a salad and some soup. All were decent. I haven’t had a chance to go back and try the different options but I would like too. I’m curious about the different smoothies and just for that I’ll make the move to go to Julio’s again.

I was pretty disappointed in the slow service of this restaurant. So slow in fact, that we didn’t even have the chance to eat anything. Note to Aventura/NMB lunchers: if you only have an hour for lunch, don’t bother coming here. You’ll only get water in that time frame. The menu looks good and I’ve heard great things about the food, but the menu is also the length of a long book!

Excellent Food. Quality Service, Music was a little loud. Quinoa was prepared perfectly, avocado slices on top were at the peak of ripeness. Prices were reasonable considering the health factor. Expect to pay more for food that may approach the quality of this place. Overall great value and great food. Also check out their LARGE selection of juices, smoothies, health drinks. If you are in the neighborhood, this place is a must. This place could be a five star joint with a little polish.

I LOVE this place! If I lived close by I would come here all the time. Like, put out a restraining order on me, all the time. Yes, it is pricey for the casual type of restaurant that it is, but stop being a cheap-ass because you’re getting quality stuff. Last time I was there I had the Maria’s Salad, its new.(What can I say? I’m up with the times.) Chickpeas, tomato, avocado, cilantro, and an olive oil-lemon dressing. So simple, why has my brain never come up with this when I’m at home staring at my half empty fridge for like half an hour?! This place is a vegan/vegetarian/human being’s paradise. The service has always been top notch. Actually, now that I think of it, not really, sometimes it takes a while to get my food. Yet, I’ve always gotten the friendly waiters that chat you up and ask you about your life, but NOT in that annoying«get out of here I’m trying to eat way», so even when things are slow to get to the table, you’re like, «it’s cool, we’re buddies, no biggie». The service really is good, I’m just saying that you’re likely to be hypnotically enchanted by their people skills. The world needs more places like this so give them your dollars and send your friends.

HAPPYHEALTHYLUNCHTOYOU! This is a perfect place to go for pre/post shopping lunch with the girls. There’s a Goodwill store and a TJ Maxx in the same shopping center, so if you’re in the mood for some serious rummaging for bargains and a very healthy bite to eat, Skylake Mall is THEPLACE. I’ve been to Julio’s twice for lunch. The first time, I got carrot juice, black bean soup and a salad(forget which one.) The juice was intensely sweet and delicious, and the soup was clearly homemade and scrumptious. Last time, I had hot passion fruit tea and quinoa salad. Both were delicious. There were enough leftovers for lunch the next day too. The quinoa was perfectly prepared and the salad was delicately dressed. No mush; everything crisp. I was with two other ladies on the second visit, and let me assure you, they were high maintenance! Our waiter was a model of patient professionalism. He brought a tasting portion of the soup of the day, brought me some celery and carrots for the shared humus appetizer because I can’t eat bread, he brought two different ice teas for my companions to try; he really went the«extra mile» to make us happy. Why no 5th star? I’m not wild about the interior of the restaurant. It’s wide open flat tables, bright lights, no booths; sort of a cafeteria feel to it. Don’t get me wrong; it’s very clean and they display their beautiful organic fruits and veggies, but for me to be comfortable, I need a little peace and quiet and more intimate feel to the surroundings.
