This place is well located and has quite decent service… Coffee is much better than Starbucks… Pastires are ok… They could improve on those.

YOUMUSTTRYTHEAREQUIPENEVADO! It’s perfectly sweet and perfectly coffeenated which tastes like it has caramel in it — but i believe it’s the dulce de leche, and automatically comes topped with whip cream. Please open up a store in San Diego!

Stick to the coffee and avoid the food. I frequently fly out of MIA and have tried different breakfast options at the airport. Don’t waste your money. I tried an empanada and it was inedible, still frozen inside and the corn dough was so dry it broke in two inside the bag before eating… Yuck. I also ordered Pan de Bono and was hard, cold, hardly any cheese and dry. It was among the worse ever in any Colombian establishment in Miami. After one bite just tossed the food in the trash. Unfortunately I had to take a flight otherwise would have gone back and demanded my money back. Stick to La Carreta, Versalles and other options.

The service was terrible. Usually when you buy a pre packaged salad it comes with a plastic fork and salad dressing or the cashier offers the salad dressing when you pay for the salad. Not here. I had to walk all the way to my gate and open it to find out that there was no fork or salad dressing. I know you’re probably thinking that I should have asked when I bought the salad but common customer service would offer to help a wayward customer. So I walk back over and ask for the dressing and I get an eye roll and a «you must be an idiot» tone of voice as the barista explains that they keep the dressing behind the counter. Sorry, but I never took a mind reading class in college so it’s my fault I skipped out on that educational endeavor that is quickly becoming a prerequisite for commerce with many businesses these days.

This morning I enjoyed a delicious hot Arequipe Nevalo coffee drink with dulce de leche at MIA. It was flawless. I love good coffee when at an airport and wish they would open a Juan Valdez Café at every airport terminal in the world. I frequent the ones at JFK and found this on even better(must be the Cuban touch).

Embarrassing. As someone who knows the brand well and has enjoyed it in Colombia and the US, this franchise location is in horrible shape. Staff don’t know the product. The café con leche is a joke. The product diversity is lacking. I am at a loss for words.

Yuck. This was the worst airport food I’ve ever had. I ordered an egg and cheese croissant and quite frankly am so disgusted that I ate it. the grease from the bottom went through the wrapper, and the paper bag, and a few napkins. Not that I was expecting an amazing breakfast sandwich, but that was disgusting. It was like they sat it in a pile of grease from something else after they made it… it was still tasteless and yet I’m left with a layer of grease in my mouth and on my hands. Not to mention that the sandwich, and everything else they have is way overpriced. My breakfast was over $ 17. Yikes!

Verry understaffed line took 20 minutes. Only 2 people dealing w ordering and preparing. If you are going to device an airport you need to learn from a starbucks it Ciffee Bean.

This is the coffee place whenever I pass through Miami airport. Friendly and efficient staff. Good coffee and a selection of treats from South America. Tip: make sure the coffee is hot as sometimes it is only warm; this has happened several times now; though they heated up when asked.

I’m Colombian so this place will hold a warm place in my heart! I’ve only been once since they opened and the coffee was DELICIOUS. The customer service was very good– as in they were nice and trying really hard. But clearly you can tell everyone is new and getting adjusted. Too many people behind the small counter space. The ambiance is great though. It’s been about a month since my visit so I hope they’ve gotten more organized by now. Can’t wait to be back!

This review is for the NEW Downtown location, NOT the airport. Never go to the Downtown area but took a field trip just to have some authentic Colombian coffee. Well worth the time. Smooth and rich coffee. The customer service is exceptional. Definitely will challenge Starbucks in this area. They have both pastries and snacks to enjoy with your coffee. They have a variety of ways to enjoy your coffee as well as choices as to region of Colombia where the coffee originates.

The place is awesome… But, they have to get it together! I know they are new so I’ll give them many more chances. The staff was nice but more experience couldn’t hurt at all. So for now I’ll give it 4 star for quality. The coffee is too notch for sure!

The best coffee shop EVER! I’ve known many people who«loved» Starbucks until they tried JV’s Coffee(JVC); I am a classic example. Plus, I know the team running the store because I used to work with them and I will assure you’ll have the best customer experience of your life. …and yes, I’M BIASEDINTHISONE lol, but I have a reason, this is simply AMAZING!

Let me preface this review by saying that I have never been a coffee drinker… that is, until now. Prior to trying Juan Valdez, I didn’t necessarily understand the«coffee culture» as it exists in the US. My outlook on coffee has always been, «Please don’t let me turn into one of those robots who can’t function until I’ve had my morning cup of coffee.» I didn’t realize there was more to coffee than the need for caffeine. Juan Valdez truly changes the coffee drinking experience. Not only is the café cozy, welcoming and authentic, but the staff is beyond knowledgeable and eager to make your experience one you will appreciate, enjoy and share with others. The employees are passionate about the brand and it shows. The head barista, Edgardo, took the time to educate me on the origins of the coffee, and it is clear that he is so proud of what he does. Lastly, I learned that each sale at Juan Valdez directly benefits the Colombian coffee growers, which is amazing. Not only are you getting your caffeine boost, but you’re also doing some good along the way. Truly a win-win! Let’s just say I’ve been converted. Colombian coffee all the way.

I always get the their frozen coffee /frappucino-equivalent every time I’m flying in or out MIA. Employees will outnumber waiting customers and always takes frustratingly forever — typical for Miami. This evening with 30 minutes until closing I was refused the frozen drink because they were cleaning up and being lazy. YOUGUYSSUCK.

Where have you been all my life??? I have heard Juan Valdez reviews for years. I have a lot of South American friends and they always rave about it. I was in Miami a few weeks ago and I noticed they had one at one of the terminals. I got a café nevado, it was a blended coffee drink(frappuccino for the starbucks peeps). That coffee was something else, it was strong, smooth and the flavor was perfection. Simplicity at it’s best. The barista offered to drizzle caramel on top of the whip cream and that took it to another level. I also purchased a bag of coffee flavored candies, the bag was pretty expensive considering it only had a few. However, they are so good. I regret not buying at least one more bag. This is an airport location so I can’t wait to travel to Colombia and experience the real deal.

Very simple review, do not come here. If you don’t heed my advice you’ll be writing the same review.

Completely unimpressed by their blended drink. Got a cookie coffee blended drink because they didn’t have the brownie one. Tasted powdery. Granted they used powder to make it but … The only pluses: location and yummy looking snacking foods like the empanadas.

I actually liked Juan Valdez @ MIA. Granted, they have some kinks to work out — such as the ordering process. The ordering mechanism doesn’t seem to be very well thought out — the display case with the goodies being one side of the counter and the cashier being in the other side. It kind of makes it difficult to know what they have that could be ordered. Nevertheless, coffee was good — not amazing. On par with Starbucks, if you asked me. So I got my caffeine fix. For some reason, I have the feeling that if they had a real Juan Valdez coffeeshop in Miami, the coffee would be better there than in the airport. Hot pastries — they had tequeños(the cheese sticks) and frankly they were delicious and full of cheese — I’d order these again and by the dozen if I could! They also had the cachitos(ham & cheese) and I thought they were good too. Maybe not the best. I thought it was nice that they’d could give you cold ones too so that you could have it baked at home. With Juan Valdez being the only place to sell cachitos and tequeños in MIA, this should be a good selling point for Venezuelan expats especially for those just making the connection in Miami. It’s enough to get me to return — especially if I ever get the hankering for tequeños.
