So here’s the thing: I’m Colombian and have been to original Juan Valdez café’s in Colombia, so I’m a little harder to please. That said, it’s still pretty good here. The coffee is hot, strong and just how I like it. The pan de bonos are good and the arepa de choclo is pretty good as well. I will say, the way they reheat the arepa de choclo isn’t the best: in Colombia we toast them a little more rather than bake them, so they’re a bit crispier. The location itself is decently sized and well-staffed and there was an interesting variety of people there, students, tourists, and actual Colombians(like me) looking for a taste of home. I went at a weird time, so I’m interested to see what breakfast time looks like.

I enjoy myself here. Although the coffee and food are extremely overpriced, I come here often and sacrifice my few dollars earned on a chai tea latte and read my notes for school. My chai taste excellent although nothing like an actual chai. My complaint: these people are Colombian crazy. I mean not to be racist. I have nothing against Colombians, but seriously. I feel smothered. It’s Colombian coffee, Colombian pastries, Colombian music, Colombian artist. Colombian art, Colombian magazines. Oh Jesus, please give me a whiff of something else… And the uniforms dear god they are horrid. I always stare and the baristas and wonder how much they are paying them for that amount of torture. It hurts my eyes, it really does. Thankfully for the owners, I really f*ing like coffee and coffee bars. So they’ll keep getting my money.

I cannot wait to go back to Miami for the coffee here!!! It was rich and flavorful. The device was very pleasant and the atmosphere was quite chill.

Stopped by to get a cold drink on a hot Tuesday afternoon. This place is really nice inside and has a very chill atmosphere. I went with a Arequipe Fruppé. It was sweet, but not too overwhelming. It’s similar to a Caramel Frappuccino that you could get at Starbucks but the one here is more of a Dulce de leche. It’s also not too pricey here. It’s actually cheaper than Starbucks, which makes my wallet happy ;)(if wallets had feelings…) I’d also like to note that the coffee was a bit intense. I believe they use Colombian coffee so I’m sure that is why. It had an intense flavor, but I wasn’t really bothered by it. Pictures attached!

While in downtown, I was happily surprised to see a Juan Valdez coffee shop in this area. Since a friend of mine raved about their coffee, I had to stop in. Well, she was right. Upon walking in, it was tidy and inviting. Great timing because it wasn’t too busy. The employee that assisted me, friendly and knowledgeable. Ordered a latte and didn’t wait too long for it to be prepared. The coffee, strong and flavorful. I love Starbucks but Juan Valdez is a wonderful option that I know I’ll be craving! Plenty of space to sit and take a break. Will definitely return when in the area! Even better, I hope a few more of these pop up in Miami-Dade county.

A nice Saturday morning catching up on my reading and having a brilliant vanilla/cinnamon Latte. Very cost and relaxing place to do some school work. Their coffee is on point with various bean choices from South America. Their breakfast and lunch here is delicious and fairly affordable for sure less then Starbucks but with better coffee. Staff is very friendly. Definitely coming here more often. Thank you Juan Valdez Café, keep up the great service!

Coffee was just okay, service was terrible. Took forever to get coffee because they keep talking to each other and to the patrons. Should not take more than 5 minutes for a cup of joe when it’s not even crowded.

Yum. Decided to spring for a treat and ordered the chocolate coconut latte and it was delicious, not too sweet like most crazy lattes. Happily hung out on the comfy little couch sipping and studying and loving life.

Good coffee. Cute clean place in a great location; a lot of in-and-out from the local business men and women needing a quick pick-me-up. The restroom, however, was past being in need of a scrub down.

You know, in part it’s a good thing that I no longer live in Miami because if I did I’d be wired all the time!!! Why don’t we have one of these in Orlando? The Columbian coffee here is excellent. Ranges from mild to espresso and boy is the espresso good!!! There is so much good coffee in this town, it’s insane, and they’re all different but with their own positive attributes. I bought a pound to take back home and the prices are decent, customer service was great. My friend has a friend who is from Columbia and the owner asked her what part, and when she replied, he pointed out which coffee came from her village, and so she ended up taking some for her as a gift. They carry organic juices, and some light Columbian snacks and authentic candies, the owner kept trying to convince me to try some of the candy but I didn’t because I knew I’d be doomed if I did.

Been here a couple of times. Best coffee in Miami, hands down. The espresso is strong but smoothe. No extreme acid found in this brew. They also have a coffee milkshake that is to die for. Nice selection of pastries and sandwiches to go along with your coffee to round out your trip.

I came in because This little shop looks interesting on the outside. It was a Wednesday afternoon and was pretty busy. When I got up to talk to the cashier, I asked if I could have a huila coffe brewed with the siphon method, as per what the menu offered. I was told in broken English that I could only use a pod. I wasn’t in the mood to argue so I got the pod. I won’t be back.

Excellent coffee experience for coffee lovers! On my recent visit to JV we had the Huila roast on the siphon method. The barista demonstrates the method of brewing for your group and explains the procedures in doing so. I’ve had the Huila roast in other methods but siphon really gets the most of the properties on to the cup. Definitely stop by and take the demonstration and a Colombian pastry. This will be a cup you will soon not forget and possibly be hooked on JV coffee.

I’m thinking about enrolling in MDC just so I can study at this coffeeshop everyday. In need of a nice meeting spot near downtown, I chose Juan Valdez Café because I’ve been wanting to check it out ever since its opening. Having been to Colombia a few times, I’m familiar with the brand and was excited to see how the concept transferred over to America(outside of the airport outpost, of course). Have you ever had arequipe? If not, you’re missing out. It’s the Colombian dulce de leche and great with just about everything, including macchiatos. The arequipe macchiato is your basic machiatto with an arequipe drizzle that results in a pool of arequipe at the bottom of your espresso. The perfect pick me up for anytime of day. The coffee itself beats Starbucks in my opinion, and they sell bags of the different JVC varieties to bring home or gift. For eats, they have delicious Colombian favorites like arepas with cheese, pan de bono, and deditos de queso, along with muffins, other pastries, and even healthy snacks like kale chips and quinoa from Deliver Lean. Definitely a great variety. The service was super friendly. It has free wi-fi, clean bathrooms and plenty of seating from hightop tables and comfy couches. Since I’m not planning on going back to school anytime soon, looks like I’ll have to resort to planning a lot more meetings at this shop.

Nice new coffeeshop in Miami. Always nice to see an alternative to Starbucks. I’ve been a big fan of this chain in Latin America and the Miami airport and finally they’ve opening up in Miami proper.
