Location: In Terminal D of the Miami Airport. The place: These guys are a to-go place and only sell empanadas(and coffee). The goods: Empanadas, obviously. I’m sure people who are better versed in Empanadas might say that this isn’t the place to get them, but I grabbed the chicken variety on my way to my flight and they were delicious and hot. It’s a great place to grab a tasty snack on the fly. Service: Good Price point: It’s a little step at almost $ 5 for one. I’d say $ 3 is a fairer price.

Poor quality, expensive price, deceptively good combinations of empanadas and«square pies», and disappointing experience. Don’t waste your time and money; flavor is bad, pastries are half way cooked and empanadas are nothing like the real thing. Move on!

I’m not much of one to purchase food at an airport but as I was pretty excited for my trip, I thought I’d grab an empanada before my flight. Bottom line is, I should have kept going. I ordered a ham and cheese empanada as they had just ran out of the bacon, egg, and cheese. It was cold, and the ham was not even all the way cooked. Not sure where the cheese was. I was very disappointed as I’m a huge fan of empanadas. By far one of my least favorites. Hopefully it was just a bad one, either way, next time I’ll keep walking. The staff was kind and efficient, I’ll give them that!

Little pricey at $ 4.50 but I guess that’s the going rate. Grab at least two you are going to be happy you did. I had two spicy beef and a spinach. The spicy beef was a really really good mixture of ground beef and spices one of the best I’ve had. The spinach was horrible tho I took one bite and couldn’t take it.

This airport stop was surprisingly delicious. I ordered a turkey panini and it was loaded with fresh smoked turkey, mozzarella, and tomatoes. The staff were very friendly and quick to fill two orders. I would recommend stopping here if you want quick and tasty food in the Miami airport.

With little time to catch our connecting flight we hastily chose Half Moon Empanadas for a place to grab a quick dinner before rushing off to catch our flight back to the Windy City. Their signage included a panel with quotes from local media including one that simply said, «Best Empanadas» attributed to one of the Miami newspapers. I have a sneaking suspicion that this is an abbreviated quote that originally read, «In search of the best empanadas? Keep looking.» I had the spinach empanada and the three cheese empanada and they could hardly be called great yet alone the best. Not only are they not that great but they come with a hefty price tag– around $ 5 each.

The staff is very friendly, except for the man behind the empanadas. The cashier is easy going and friendly. I ordered the two Spinach Empanadas and a Ice Vanilla Latte with Soy Milk. My cost was $ 15 aprox. The empanadas themselves are $ 4.50 each. I suggest you order the three empanadas and a drink combo. It’s a better deal. Had I read the menu prior I could have had that deal. Anyhow, the Spinach Empanadas were very salty to my taste. The cheese within was filling. The Vanilla Latte was well made. It’s a small shop but they have a lot of options unlike other empanada shops within the airport. Don’t be shy to ask for things, it may be hidden somewhere. At no extra cost I had soy milk instead of regular milk. I have yet to try other things here. I will definitely return to try other items. P. S. Keep in mind, it’s an airport and a to go spot. Know what you want before joining the line. It’s a quick process. Cheers!

The two stars is due to the outrageous prices, at $ 5.75 each. The empanada I tried wasn’t that bad I wish it was hotter!(Temperature wise) but it wasn’t Half Bad. The Pork BBQ Guava was different. I might try their Jerk Chicken next time. I know it’s the airport but Jesus! The prices are ridiculous!
