I would have given them five stars if they had a table. I was really disappointed to find out they only had 4 chairs available and I understand with the small amount of space they have, a table might make the place seem way too crowded. But then maybe, I thought, they don’t want people to lounge around here for so long or have this be their new study spot. Which I was hoping for:( But the coffee makes up for it!!! I’m not a usual coffee drinker, but I needed a caffeine boost. The owner was extremely helpful in making me the perfect coffee. I don’t like the taste of coffee, and therefore make sure to tell them to add 10 packs of sugar to the coffee. And he suggested their homemade elder flower syrup instead of the sugar, and it was so delicious! It was just the right amount of sweet and the coffee was as close to the definition of perfect. I think I found my favorite coffee stop nearby! I highly suggest you Ask for their syrup next time you go!

Coffee is great, however, the owner makes you drink it to his liking. NOCREAMORSUGAR. I would not have paid four dollars for a cup of coffee that I could not have to my liking. I am a coffee enthusiast and enjoy fine coffee. I have traveled all over the world and had some of the best coffee available, and have never been told that I can’t add the smallest bit of cream to my coffee when I want it. I was shocked to ask for a small bit of cream and be told that I was not allowed to add cream to my coffee. Absurd.

First up, parking is free along the street and no big hassle. It’s located next to Hungry Bears, right by Miami Dade College. It’s a little startup with lots of potential, I think. The owner was manning it when I went Friday afternoon, and let me ask him 101 questions, bless his patient soul. The place opened up late last year and is still in that first year of establishing itself, so there aren’t any loyalty programs yet and things are a little on the pricey side, BUT it has quality and character going for it. I tried an iced maple latte and it was devine! It cost about $ 5. I also bought 8 oz. of Peruvian coffee, «Peru Chirinos,» and it is one of the nicest coffees I’ve had yet. It seems the prices for the bags of coffee are based on some shifting market price because he checked his phone before charging me. The 8 oz. Came out to $ 10. The service was lovely, the coffee tasty, and the place is super chill. The owner told me he totally ditched the 45 minute chair concept and went with these 4 huge white reading chairs that look super comfy. The place is also stocked with a big bookcase with something for everyone, and a record player. I like it and would definitely come back. Also, bonus points! It has a food drive and they collect throughout the month to give to those in need. Plus he mentioned something about events every week, but I’m a little fuzzy on the details at the moment.

Good lord they know how to make a good cup of coffee. Whatever or wherever you thought you had the best coffee, you have not been to Grind Coffee Project yet… you are at a loss if you’ve never been. Luckily I’m part of generation X, so I can drink this coffee and type this review with one thumb at the same time. I’m counting my blessings. The aesthetics of the shop might throw you off as it looks as if they are still working on their look, but that doesn’t matter much to me. What does is what they’ve set up shop to do, and they do it well. Oh yeah… and ask Yoni to make your cup.

Keep the local joints alive! Had such a yummy start this morning with a DELISH cup of coffee in KENDALL!!!(Not Wynwood)… Near Hungry Bear for all the locals out there. Walked into this naturally cool and relaxed joint with the Beastie Boys jamming in the background and greeted by an adorable Barista. Don’t walk… RUN! to this adorable and AFFORDABLE… AND delicious coffee shop in your hood today!!! #damntheman #supportthelocals #keepthemovementalive @the_grind_coffee

I have to give it one star. Spent 3 bucks on black coffee that I didn’t enjoy. No cream or sugar is available for the brewed coffees. Would’ve been a great experience otherwise. Sorry guys, I understand your concept but to impose your personal taste on your customers is not very smart. This is the equivalent of not providing ketchup and mustard at a hotdog joint.

Exquisite coffee, super chill music & relaxing environment to just kick back for a bit… I’d definitely come here for my afternoon coffee fix — by the way, get the pumpkin bread also, it’s just as good as it smells :)

This place has a great atmosphere for just hanging out and also great quality coffee. They keep it pretty simple with just a few choices of coffee types and flavors they also have a few treats, but with the selection they have, the quality is very much apparent.

A shining example in epic coffee and the best chit chat available with your coffee guy. I’ve come here a few times now, and usually order the cold brew. If you don’t know about cold brew, don’t feel bad… But feel left out. It’s the source of coffee delivery that I prefer over any other. It’s cleaner, milder, healthier, and doesn’t usually need sugar. When you get in, there’s definitely a feeling of a NYC1 bedroom studio with legitimately cool Knick knacks around. Record player, oversized chairs, rug. Different atmosphere than usual. The dude who runs the place is very knowledgeable and can help you pick out an ideal coffee. To be honest, the coffee styles/beans picked out for consumption are all tasty. It’s a cool coffee place. Few places like it in Miami.

Came in for 2 drinks, one hot and one cold to go, let Yoni the owner decide on the flavor as long as not too sweet. The first one, Maple Latte, was simply amazing. Perfect amount of maple syrup which wasn’t too sweet. Did not need to do anything but enjoy. Second one was something Yoni is experimenting which I also loved because of how unfamiliar, creative and original it tasted! Not a coffee drinker yet can’t wait to explore more of what this passionate place has to offer!

I’m hoping I visited Grind Coffee Project on an off day. The café at itself which has been open for a few months seems to be still working out the kinks. It opens at 7:15AM, when I visited at 8:15AM things were still being set up to begin brewing. The only non-espresso-based hot coffee option is French press(no V60 or chemex or aeropress). I had the French press but the temperature of the water was high for brewing. The barista said he forgot to put ice in the espresso machine to cool the water a bit since their machine runs hot.(What the ?) Finally, they sell whole beans but were out of the in-house roast and were basically reselling Kuma beans. Despite all this there seems to be a lot of potential here and Kendall needs a serious coffee shop. The barista was very friendly and seemed knowledgeable. I’m eager to try them again in a few months.

Went while they had the event on Saturday. The line was out the door, I almost left. I’m very happy I didn’t. Yes I waited my turn but well worth it. Jonathan and Brian made me an awesome iced honey latte. I met a coffee farmer !! This entire experience was amazing. I’m sitting here currently, speaking to one of the other guys and learning more than I could imagine about coffee. The down side is that it’s empty, I beg all of you to come in and buy coffee! so they don’t just leave the area like so many other great places. I passed a Starbucks, Dunkin and multiple«cafecitos» to get here and it’s well worth it.

The perfect espresso, killer vibe, amazing service! It is so awesome to finally have such a great coffee shop in Kendall. They always have a great selection of beans on hand and are more than willing to help you create the perfect drink. The decaf is hands down the best I’ve ever had, I’ve tried most everything on the menu and I can truly say it’s all delicious. The atmosphere is really comfortable and they always have great music playing.

Stopped by for the coffee festival and vendors and really enjoyed it even on a chilly day. Love the concept and hope it will continue to grow in the future. The location is convenient for students at MDC-Kendall since it’s right across the street. It’s small but just perfect once it starts warming up. They also have coffee«as tea» which is great for true coffee lovers. The staff was soooooooo nice!!! I look forward to coming back and checking out some of the other selections.

With all the great reviews, I had to try this neighborhood coffee shop. Though I love cream and sugar in my coffee, they don’t offer it. Brian offered to make me a latte and sweeten it with vanilla. It was delicious! This is truly a local small business and I support small business. We all should!

I honestly had no idea this place existed. My sister(Kat R.) was the one to mention it to me so we decided to go this afternoon. the place is small and hidden(next to the Hungry Bear by MDC) fairly new(about 3 months old) is just offers the basics. you can get either cold or hot brew and they have different flavor lattes. like i said, the place is small. four REALLY comfortable lounge chairs, a table with some records and a player, and a pinball machine take up majority of the center. there’s a few art pieces on the wall and after talking with one of the partners, he mentioned and they are in the works to add more decorations to the massive white space they currently have. My sister ordered a vanilla latte and she was really pleased with it. The barista recommended this latte with nutella w/a little bit of Sriracha. it took me a little bit to be convinced but he seems like he knew what he was talking about, so i went for it… SO happy he was right! it was delicious! totally unexpected from those flavors. The starts sweet but ends with a nice kick of the sriracha. Good job sir, good job! If I’m ever in that part of Kendall, I will more than likely get my caffeine fix from there :)

Absolutely amazing little spot IN kendall. I’m not a heavy coffee drinker but it was very pleasing when the owner customized a coffee for me! Nutella and sriracha, a combo I would never try but worked so perfectly in the coffee he made for me. It felt like I was at home when I was there and this is a sure spot if you want to hangout and chill or to simply get your coffee fix!

***this place is beside Hungry Bear Sub Shop, kinda tricky to find but worth it*** This place is different! The owner/barista custom made our drinks on the spot… Grind doesn’t have a fixed menu but I totally loved what I got: maple coffee. Quite limited pastries, but good selection. I had the vegan dark chocolate avocado cupcake-it was interesting… the good kind of interesting. It was just a hint of avocado that went well with chocolate(who would have thought). The atmosphere here was chill as opposed to corporate cafés. Definitely homey. Customer service was great with a personal but casual touch.

Great independent coffee shop with a chill vibe, fantastic coffee, and great customer service. Brian, the barista, was super knowledgable about the coffee and made one of the best lattes I’ve ever had(and I’ve had a lot). As an added bonus, he’s super cute!

I really wanted to like Grind. I really did. It’s close to home, there’s easy parking outside, it’s something a little different than the ventanitas to which I am accustomed. However, and this saddens me to say, I just didn’t enjoy the coffee. I had the standard roast, which at the time was called Kuma. It was a very dark roast, and had a lot of bitterness and maybe some sourness to it. I ordered an espresso and actually didn’t end up finishing it. My husband got a latte, which was much more palatable. While the latte was good, it wasn’t so great that it outweighed the bad taste left in my mouth(pun clearly intended) by the espresso. The service was great. There are games inside to play. The décor is a start: the walls are decorated interestingly but would benefit from something other than white paint to provide a better atmosphere. I’d probably try Grind once more before making my mind up entirely, but would likely pick another roast or preparation than the one I had. Or, if you think your flavor preferences include the description I mentioned, give it a try for yourself.

Miami needs a place like this. No, that cafecito that your abuela gave you is not good coffee but the folks at The Grind Coffee can help you come to grips with this lie you’ve been living. The place isn’t what you think of when you think of a coffee shop and that’s a good thing. As the barista what a single origin coffee is and enjoy the ride.

I visited this coffee shop during the weekend of the grand opening. What a treat! A cute, cozy coffee shop with a delicious product and an at-home vibe. I had the iced mocha which is made with Nutella and balsamic glaze and it was delicious. For all the mocha lovers out there, this drink is like none other. Savory and refreshing at the same time. I also appreciated that they had almond milk available and took advantage! The décor is classic and simple. Two large, comfy chairs, a table with a record player and nice collection of vinyls and a pinball machine to boot! The staff is extremely friendly and hands out warm high-fives at your request. I’m looking forward to returning and trying something new!

Not being a regular coffee drinker you’d think I wouldn’t have a review about this place, but you’re wrong. Never in my life have I enjoyed coffee nor understood coffee as much as I do when I’m in this coffee shop. Brian and Yoni have made a magnificent job at making the place feel very cozy, you can even select a record to play on their record player(or you can bring your own!) but honestly I have yet to be disappointed by the sound track in the place, and I’m a music snob. I usually let them surprise me with coffee, and I have loved every single creation that has touched my lips. So THIS is a what a real cup of joe is supposed to taste like. If you’re a cold brew lover(my only weakness in the coffee world) please do yourself a favor and try theirs, but BEWARNED that the energy spike is going to be tremendous, so sip instead of gulping and at your own risk(; Whether you are looking for a place to stop by to grab a cup of coffee and a pastry before work or school, or you are looking for a rad place to hang out with cool people, Grind Coffee Project will rapidly become your new stop in Kendall.

There are no words to describe my excitement at the fact that there is FINALLY a place in my neighborhood that isn’t a Starbucks or a Dunkin to satisfy my coffee needs. My heart can’t take it. Heard about this place thanks to a great friend and fellow Unilocaler… Wasn’t actually sure if it was open or not, but took my chances today and headed over. To my delight, it was indeed open! I wish I would have caught the guy behind the counter’s name… He was awesome and really passionate about coffee. Thanks to him, I discovered the best Iced Mocha EVER. The menu is very limited, and I’m not sure whether they plan on expanding it… but their product is solid. Best coffee in Kendall, by a longshot. I can’t wait to go back! Everyone, please go so we don’t lose the ONE good coffee place around here.
