Grand Central is no more. Torn down in October of 2015, it was an amazing multi-purpose venue that hosted many different types of acts and parties. I produced a dozen erotic theme events there over the years that we’re all truly memorable. We have found several new locations to host our world famous events. Bi-sexy women and adventurous couples please visit for details.

Good venue. Doormen are awesome. They are real professional and actually do their jobs. Drinks are decent. Shady area but clean.

Grand Central is my favorite midsized venue to catch a live show in Miami. Security line to get in is generally fast and moves efficiently. There is a paid parking lot directly across the street for those who are unwilling to park in the surrounding area. I have parked inside as well as used street parking in the area, never had a problem. The venue has an outdoor patio area. This includes several benches as well a pool table and bar. Always a cool vibe out here and great place to have conversations with the squad. Once you go inside everything changes. Love the inside of this venue. With bars on either side of you walking in the place is nicely sized. Usually pretty cool, but it can get hot towards the front of the crowd, but when is that not the case? A wall against the stage right is perfect for those sitting down to receive lightshows during EDM events. This place is lightshow friendly and has truly been a venue that glovers and flow artists converge upon. Beyond sad to see it go.

For me, this has been a great small venue to see smaller bands. It’s great because of the intimate(around 500 people or so) setting. If you live near downtown, I would suggest Ubering so as to not have to deal with parking and traffic, especially after an event. My rating is mainly based on the fact that people are constantly smoking, and management seems to not care whatsoever about it. I guess they’re fine with putting up a no smoking sign and that’s it. It kinda sucks that they’re closing this place up, as there is really no other place like it for bands to come play in Miami. I’ve only seen Alt Bands play here, but I k ow that they catered to all kinds of music.

Rating this based on how good of an actual music/dance space it is. Grand Central is an amazing place to dance to your favorite artist. It’s an intimate venue but it doesn’t get overcrowded to the point where you feel like you’re rubbing off someone just by walking around. Very unpretentious feel; I think this was one of the most down-to-earth dance venues I’ve ever been to. Lax dress code, so you have lots of people keeping it real. I came here primarily for the music(What So Not) and had a complete blast. This place feels basically like an indie warehouse, and I freaking love it. At closing time(3 – 5 am depending), it’s super easy to get to the front so you get the chance to bump heads with whoever is playing. Would definitely come back again.

Great looking place, good looking people, free drinks before midnight. The first time I came to this place I felt like it was number 1 club and as of now I think it still is. If there is an event to get in it’s 10 if you’re on the list and if you’re not on the list it’s $ 20. If there is no special concert/event then it is free to get in. The parking is $ 7 but considering it’s in downtown that’s pretty good because when I’ve gone to space I’ve had to pay $ 10 for parking and sometimes more. The music is awesome too, you’ll love it so I suggest you check it out.

Just saw Jarabe de Palo and this would be a really great venue except for a few problems. First might be a bit picky, but why no lighting for the band? They asked for lights and it never happened. They sounded great, too bad you couldn’t really see them. Second problem is a bit more severe. Smoking. Lots of it. It sucks. I’d thought that coming home reaking of smoke was a thing of the past. Thanks to Grand Central, I’m back to 2am showers and a batch of laundry.

|||| K A S K A D E |||| R E D U X !! |||||| enough said. Venue was pretty small and dark. Barely could see anything. It was also hot. But its for Kaskade so it makes up for it. Got a few beers and chilled the whole night. There were a few people dancing all out, I wasn’t one of them but I was sure sweating like I was. There was an outside patio that was pretty nice to get air with some seating. They were also selling the artist/DJ’s merchandise outside before you leave.

Good and much needed venue in a town that lacks them. I think the sound has always been good here, but I guess it depends on what you’re seeing and who might be in charge of the sound that night. I think it’s great they cater to all kinds of different music and I’ve been going to concerts /shows, and events here since it’s opened. The neighborhood is pretty sketchy so take care when walking alone(don’t.), park in the lot if you can, or get dropped off right in front of venue, and you will be fine. Though I can’t go without mentioning an issue I had with the management over a review I wrote here once, when the venue was under different management, where I was pretty much tracked down on FB and told that due my disagreeable review at the time I was not allowed back in the venue, and that came in the form of a threat from a Mario Arango. I can’t fathom that the best way to combat a bad review is to threaten someone as blatantly as this man did. I mean, why could he not have just asked me nicely to reconsider my review instead of automatically throwing ultimatums at me in such a way? It’ a shame but I guess most places like this don’t come to be some without someone like Mr. Arango at the helm. Anyways, it’s a good venue, and I’m still going to be going, as I I always have, but just watch out what you say on here, they might go after you too, as they clearly take it very personal enough to act and speak to you in the following fashion…

I love the industrial look of the place. Good drinks, good staff awesome nights and music. There is a gated parking lot across the street so that is always a good place to leave your car.

Came here last Thursday for Walshy Fire event! Best time ever! First the outside is not very appealing, looks industrial kind of run down looking to be honest but once you get inside its cool. We were upstairs which looks like a loft with brick on the walls, concrete flooring and high ceilings allowing you to see all the pipes and metal… cool feel. I didnt get to check out downstairs but I heard its lovely. Anyhow the music was on point. They took it back with real old school hip hop and mary j. And when Walshy jumped on it was non stop jump up grind wine and pop lock(LOL) all the way. I danced from the moment we walked in to all the way downstairs when we were leaving. Will definitely come back here… nice vibes

I visited the Garret and I was impressed. They offer an alternative solution to the mainstream adjacent Grand Central. The sound system was great and wow were the bartenders on point. Joey, Haran and Cameryn did not let me wait more than a minute at anytime for a drink. They were nice and even struck up conversations and weren’t just sell and good bye. The service, sound and ambiance of this alternative bar are really something. Great Job The Garret!

Somewhere between a 3 and a 4 lies the perfect rating for The Garrett at Grand Central. I’m rounding up to 4 stars to start the New Year on a positive note and because I got a New Year’s Kiss from a cute hipster chick. :) I came by for the free New Year’s show by Peaches(very eclectic, NSFW-ish ElectroPop artist, look her up) advertised in one of the local arts journals and /or one of those nightlife email lists that goes in my Spam folder. To the artist’s credit, and compared to a lot of the big name clubs, she did a full long hour set and various costume changes As others stated, the line outside can take long although 30 minutes on New Years Eve is par for the course. For The Garrett(a club within a club) you walk up an industrial looking metal stair in a corridor with pipes, lit up General Quarters Red. It’s a smalll space, so you’ll bump into a lot of people! Bartenders were pretty friendly when they get to know you, although their bar menu gears toward beer and shots.(They couldn’t make an Old Fashioned.) The usual fog machines are there, but not that many laser lights. The bathroom, though, is still ratchet and needs some cleaning. They do have a tub in it, which could be fun in more sanitary situations. However, I don’t think I’ll be imitating Tove Lo just yet. Happy New Year!

Love this venue. I’ve been there for a few concerts(Cut Copy, Capital Cities & Cypress Hill… I guess the band needs to start with a C in order for me to attend). I’ve also been to their Friday night hip-hop club, which was a bit hot(not because of my awesome dance moves) but still a lot of fun! The neighborhood is a bit sketchy in the middle of downtown, but pretty centrally located and doesn’t have a lot of the crazy traffic getting out that some other venues do. I wish more acts would play here vs. Hard Rock Live!

I’ve been here only once for a concert and we were in a VIP section with free drinks and food all night. We had an amazing time. I didn’t get to experience any negative so based on my experience, they get the five stars.

how else can u rate a place where the door dude is a douche, the acts stellar at awesome prices and their drinks fairly priced for a miami venue location? 3 stars. the damn pillars in the middle of the place suck my ass since they obstruct the view. about $ 6 for a draft pour and $ 10ish for titos soda. you your purse your insides and outsides and everything you touch will reek of tobacco poison and haunt you until you shower in bleach. dl their app and get updates for ticket specials

They get three stars based on the great acts they bring in, the fair price they charge and the sweet venue. However… the sound system really blows, the layout feels somewhat off every show I attend, and the drinks… well they suck. I know that I’ll return, because I quite enjoy live music and they have their finger on the pulse of the indie music scene, but honestly I understand why the Fillmore is pricier for shows. I’d rather spend the extra $$ for quality sound and stage lighting.

FIrst off, Grand Central is a big building with a few rooms. I was going to see Seven Lions play which was in the room on the side of the fence. The atmosphere was super chill right off the bat! There’s an outside area(yay for that, who doesn’t love being able to walk out a venue for a breath of fresh air?) along with a bar and a pool table! When I walked into the venue, I automatically liked the vibes this place gave off. Dress code is very lenient, casual wear, some girls were in bedazzled EDM bras + shorts, nothing too Ultra-ish though. Lots of plur vibes based off the amount of kandi I saw. There were a few places to sit against the wall, it’s not the biggest room but it was roomy enough in my opinon. One thing I hated was the restroom. Ugh, NASTY! Smelled terrible and most of the toilets were clogged, disgusting! For the toilets that weren’t clogged, the seats were all dirty. Cleaning service, please. Once Seven Lions came on, the venue showed off their light system. They have lights set up all over the dance floor section, which added to the experience. Sound system was good as well. A cool light show always adds a plus to the feels you get when the drop hits! my favorite thing was that the venue was so chill, they allowed Seven Lions to crowd surf! SUPERAWSOME! Some venues don’t allow the artist to crowd surf into the audience and in fact, have guards pulling the artist back onto stage if they even tried. So 4 stars for a good light system, lenient policies, outside area, fair event pricing(the presale tickets were only $ 20), but one star down for nasty bathrooms.

I served hard time at the Kresty Supermax Prison in St. Petersburg, Russia. The guards would amuse themselves by pacing past my cell and blowing cheap cigar smoke into my meager 4×4 sq meter accommodations. It was like Chinese rush-hour smog in there and it still wasn’t as smokey as Grand Central on any given night. Your hair down to your underwear will reek of American Spirits but such is life. Samson should’ve reserved the last of his strength to take out the 4 giant pillars strategically placed in front of the stage. Even if you had a direct line of sight enthusiastic fans raise their cell phones like a phalanx of Android/Apple spears. A message to you: No one gives a shit about your social media post. The video is so shaky it looks like it was taken during an earthquake and you can’t make out which band it is without the help of #hashtags. People should put the cellies away and enjoy the show the way god intended… with their eyes and ears. My sound engineer friend once commented on the acoustics by saying it sounded like two Michael Winslows(see Police Academy) had been doing sound checks in his ears. I’ve definitely heard worse, but my car and home have surround sound so Grand Central can do better. If you drink drinks this is not the place you want to have them. The bartenders can barely hear you and botch even the simplest of orders. If you want a gin/tonic, order a vodka/soda and vice versa. If you order a beer somehow the sound of your voice will carry over the banality of hipsters comparing who paid the least for their clothes. Order a brewski and forego a long wait and sloppily made cocktails at a premium price. Also none of the bartenders have ever heard of Unilocal, don’t know what a check-in offer is and won’t be serving you that free shot so don’t bother. Also, also, verify your receipt as phantom cocktails have have haunted my bill more than once. The Peach Fuzz party upstairs is true to its name because it’s so crowded you’ll feel like an actual peach packed in a truck on your way to Publix. Someone get me a Fire Marshall. So why bother with GC at all… they bring rare vintage music to Miami and they do it for cheap. I’ve never seen a ticket break $ 40 with fees and that’s for the likes of Toro y Moi + Architecture in Helsinki + Dam-Funk + Best Coast + The Drums + Surfer Blood + The Misfits. If you can get past all the hate I previously spat about Grand Central you’ll like the venue, just bring a gasmask and pay with cash and you’ll enjoy the show.

Great place for shows. Not too big or small great size! Seen MAYDAY there with Tech Nine and it was awesome! Can’t wait to see more shows! I usually don’t drink when I’m out at clubs/lounges so couldn’t tell you about the drink prices… You can park right across the street for $ 10 usually and the lot is really big. Or you can do street parking but what I have found is that if you car pool, you’re better off paying the $ 10 and not having to worry if your parking runs out…
