Looks like thy closed their doors :-( I’ve gone back several time for lunch and the gate is closed and they wiped the hours from the door. No signs or information available. Very sad for us vegetarians.

Love Govinda’s. I have had a few of their menu items which have all been delicious. My two faves have been the tuna salad sandwich(tastes like real tuna salad) and the Portabello Club.

Solid little vegetarian spot tucked away near the heart of downtown. My dining partner and I each had a large entrée salad for lunch. The sizable portions and freshness of the veggies excited us both. Mine came with cottage cheese, nuts, avocado, and more. The menu has diverse offerings for a veggie spot(hummus wrap, I got your number next time). I must admit being a tad disappointed in the complete absence of coffee, even though the decision is understandable. Service was friendly and adequate though the waitress spent most of her time behind the register on her phone on the slow day we were there. Atmosphere leaves something to be desired and could improve with a cleaner or more polished feel. Overall I liked Govinda’s and would return if in the area, but I don’t recommend seeking it out, especially considering the parking situation downtown. The food was good but my like-minded mentality wasn’t enough to push it up to four stars.

Finally! A place for vegan, raw vegan, and vegetarian downtowners to eat lunch! Everything is fresh, delicious, and healthy. I am obsessed with their veggie«tuna» salad which is great paired with mixed greens and avocado. I also love all their quinoa based dishes. Their juices are refreshing. My favorite is the one pineapple, mint and parsley. They also have tasty cupcakes and cookies for dessert. The best dessert is the red velvet cupcake. I usually dine in, but you can order for delivery if you are holed up in the office.

The food is average but THEDELIVERYISTHEWORST! They always say it takes 30 minutes but today they took more than 1 hour 45 minutes to bring my order! And I’m less than 10 minutes away of distance! I called several times to check where the food was and they are so unprofessional they didn’t answer since they have caller id. This was the 3rd or 4th time it happens and of course I didn’t accept the food when it arrived cold. Sorry, but never again Govinda’s. You have FAILED!

Great food, cute place; limited seating inside though! I likes the quinoa salad; my husband like his«chicken» wrap though some of the strips were over-cooked and chewy. My mother in law liked her veggie burger though she had to remove the mushrooms that we had requested not to be in the burger in the first place. Fresh juices were descent. We had their carrot based juice(Radhe?). They didn’t have fresh orange juice so my mother in law didn’t try a juice. Anyway thanks for the restaurant! Street-parking may be an issue at certain times of the day, but there are several paid lots and parking structures around…

Fairly tasteless food, combined with a menu in which half the items were not in stock makes for a less than ideal meal. In addition the wait arrive was not stellar, but was not as bad as it could have been. This place seems to be some ladies idea of a business which they run poorly.

Pros: — Very friendly service: owners were very helpful, patient and food came very quickly(we were the only ones there, though). — Lots of options: the menu has good variety — burgers, platters, wraps, etc. — Food quality was good: I had a portobello burger, which was actually a large mushroom with toppings, while my partner had the teriyaki tofu plate. We were quite satisfied with the portions and the quality. Cons: — Small location: only 6 or 7 tables, so it’s quite intimate. Not sure how busy it gets, but if it does, you may not get a spot. — Location: not in the best part of town. Overall: Quaint restaurant with yummy vegetarian/vegan options for a good price.

The portobello avocado club sandwich is amazing! yesterday tried the mexican wrap and it was also delish! the smothies are on the expensive side so I skip that and instead had water and a side of the sweet potato mash that was fresh and steamy hot its a small spot with only 6 – 7 tables but its perfect for a healthy lunch in downtown.

This place is a hole in the wall which I discovered on my way to work one day. As a veggie eater almost praised Krishna when I found this place. For those not familiar with Hare Krishnas this place is a nice laid back pure veg place with vegan/soy based fake meats. The owners are friendly Brazilian Hare Krishnas(religion that practices peace and non violence) that have perfected the art of fresh tasty veg food. In my lifetime I have found the best veg food is usually cooked by Hare Krishnas no matter which country.(South America especially)

Really really good food. Oh, and it just so happens to also be darn good for you! I’m doing a bit of a test by trying to eat vegan while traveling for business. This means I rely on Unilocal and other such places to help me find the elusive vegan friendly restaurant. Well on a recent trip to downtown Maimi I found this place and boy was it good. It’s a very good variety of offerings including wraps, salads, sandwiches, entrees, sides and juices. I had an very good lentil soup and a fantastic tuna salad sandwich. Both were great. My companions had the Portobello and much room club and Portobello burger. Both looked great. I also recommend the juice made from pineapple, wheatgrass and mint… so refreshing! All in all a solid restaurant(not a lot of seating but it seems to work) that both herbivore and carnivore will love.

I will come back and try their other dishes. I had the available bowl and it was good and added some fresh fruits. The grilled tofu teriaky was also good, the quinoa was delicious.

I was at the main library and needed to fuel up, found this place that is open on Sat(harder than I thought) and within walking distance. Wow, what a hidden gem! The inside is clean and cute, with bright green chairs and a little daisy on the table. The food is so delicious! You can feel your body getting healthier with every bite. The«tuna» wrap is better than the real thing! I like how they press the wrap on the panini grill. This is the type of veg food that will make carnivores happy too. I am kind of surprised there is no Indian inspired dishes, even though they have teriyaki tofu, Caribbean chicken, lasagna and red curry. Also, for some dishes they will check with you whether you want the vegetarian or vegan version of it. I don’t think the lady owner plans on franchising but it’d be lovely to see more of this type of restaurants around! Meanwhile, I definitely look forward to the next visit.

Amazing quinoa salad with raw vegetables. Added grilled tofu, which was cooked perfectly! Very tasty! Also the peanut butter smoothie was very filling — that’s something you could probably have on its own. PS– It doesn’t smell or look gross like most health food stores/restaurants. It’s very clean and moden.

If I died and went to herbivorous heaven, it would look a look like Govinda’s — except a shirtless Dwayne Johnson would be serving me champagne and talking farm animals would be frolicking at my feet. But menu-wise, Govinda’s is a little piece of veggie-friendly grace. Once headquartered in Brickell, they moved to a side street in downtown awhile back — and have seemingly gone unnoticed by the vast majority of Miamians. Their loss. But hungry lunch-goers should take note, they are nearly impossible to find. Their address reads 100 S. Miami Ave, but they’re actually on SW1st. Confusing, I know. I never said I was Google Maps. From wheatgrass shots to «tuna» melts, the menu has everything a vegan or vegetarian could possibly wanna nosh on for a midday meal. Plenty of fake meat, plus super fresh, brightly colored salads, wraps and paninis. My quinoa salad was the loveliest bowl of colon-friendly cuisine I’ve seen in awhile. Seriously, if you’re vegan, vegetarian, or just trying to wiggle your way into the pants of one of the above, Govinda’s is it.

I went into Govinda’s Garden thinking there would be some Hare Krsna favorites on the menu. But assumptions and great expectations were immediately muted. It is a cute place almost across from Macy’s Downtown. So meat alternatives, organic and fresh is the fashionista wave of the now. It’s almost everywhere and apparently in this eatery too. It’s surprisingly full of pretty traditional American favorites turned meatless. Nicely seasoned soy, tofu and vegan entrees served over rice or with a side of mashed yams and steamed veggies. However, if you grew up with Govinda’s Restaurant in Miami Beach or Coconut Grove, this is a completely different experience. I was horrified. I needed butter. I craved full fat milk. And where oh where do the famed paneer cubes or gulab jamum balls hide?! The food is without a doubt wholesome. And they have a nice breakfast menu with quesedillas, juice and smoothie selections. Wheatgrass shots too. Well, I highly recommend the cranberry-oatmeal-walnut cookies. It might of been a raw foods delight. Simply amazing. Addictively wonderful. Overall, they have competitive prices with excellent customer service. The serving size is good, however, I wanted a taste of spices and dairy in everything.

I visited this place for lunch one day while I in town for work, after searching for vegetarian /vegan restaurants near my office. If I lived in Miami, I would eat here EVERYDAY! The dining area is nothing fancy — just some Ikea tabls and chairs with minimal art on the walls… but the food itself is just gorgeous! I had the quinoa salad and also ordered the special spinach and tomato quesadilla. The quinoa salad was sooooooo delicious and just picture perfect. The quesadilla was beyond delicious, mostly because it had actual cheddar cheese in it. Up until that point, I mistakenly thought it was a VEGAN restaurant, but they do have dairy products. I would have ordered it with soy cheese had I known, but it was my own fault for not asking and making assumptions. I am so sad that I only had the opportunity to go one time. Next time I’m in Miami, I will probably make this my first stop. Might not even drop off my luggage at the hotel first :)

SOEASYBEINGGREEN when the food is this good. I’ve developed an addiction to the«tuna» salad. It’s made with seaweed and soy, and it tastes exactly like a light, bright, fresh tuna salad minus the gloppy mayonnaise and plus a gentle, elegant touch of citrus and seasonings. There’s nothing like vegetarian food prepared by someone who really doesn’t eat meats. The cucumbers are perfect, every cherry tomato chosen for its sweetness and personality. I just love this place!

I am waiting for my 5 star experience here, I think it’s on the verge. Convenient location in downtown miami for where I work. It takes me 5 minutes to get there. Service was great and speedy, prices were very reasonable. I got the Tofu Pesto Panini and it was pretty good. The menu is just full of options though so I will be going back and trying out some more of this place. *Major bonus points go to the fact they have fresh squeezed juices and it does not cost an arm and a leg.
