Can’t go wrong with oxtail, plantains, and macaroni and cheese! They are now open on Sunday, which helps when you don’t want to cook. It is also a great plac to pick up a meal after you go shopping. The fountain drinks aren’t your regular coke products they have Caribbean sodas on tap.

I’ve eaten enough Jamaican food to receive honorary citizenship. This place is the real deal. Had excellent jerk chicken, rice and peas, cabbage and plantain. The service was quick, friendly and efficient. I’ll definitely be back.

When this place first opened, years ago, I was excited to try them out. Big disappointment! The food really gives a bad impression of Caribbean cuisine; not that any food that sits out all day makes a great impression. It is fairly cheap, so you are getting what you pay for, but I strongly recommend that you choose wisely… After having my stomach turn over a few times from eating here I gave up on them. The food is prepared and placed into a buffet style area that allows you to see it, but not actually serve yourself. Sounds like a good concept, if you were at Subway. The overall quality of their food is poor. On the upside, the music is good and its usually clean on the inside. But that’s about where it stops. If you really want some good Jamaican food, walk across the street, Sango’s will be the place to eat.

Food wise this place is ok. I did find a hair in my food though. Customer service wise though it was just terrible. The lady that served the food rolled her eyes and seemed to annoyed that we interrupted her text messaging. She was very rude and you can barley hear her when she spoke. My family and I felt like an inconvenience.

A friend recommended this place… First time here. Very clean and organized, not many places to sit. The line moved quickly as the lunch rush came in. I also noticed they do have a breakfast service of traditional Jamaican breakfast like Achee and cod fish. I ordered the Brown Stew Chicken lunch special and a mild beef patty on the side. The portion of food was great, BUT the bone in chicken chunks were not very meaty. The beef patty was great! And the gravy from the chicken poured over the rice… Yum! I’ll definitely come back and try something else on the menu… Maybe something without a bone :)

The food is good, I’d say about average among the ones I’ve been to in Miami. The patty I got was hard and not flaky at all. The girl behind the counter mumbled in such small voice, I felt rude kept having to ask, I’m sorry, can you repeat? What did you say? Also, there is some counter seating but no tables at all, and soda selections are behind the counter so hard to check what they offer.

Being Jamaican, I am very particular about Jamaican cooking. I have tried the majority of Jamaican restaurants in Kendall, and while I have some favorite dishes here and there, Golden Krust is my overall favorite! My absolute favorites on the menu are their oxtails and curry goat. The oxtails are always tender and they happily serve mine with«extra gravy»! I also love the fact that they aren’t afraid to «spice up» the food! Too many Jamaican restaurants try to appeal to the masses, and the food ends up being bland and flavorless. If you plan to have oxtail, get there early, as they do run out of oxtails on most nights. My other favorites are the soups(which change daily), and their breakfast porridges. They also make a decent ackee and salt fish. Best of all, the customer service is always A++ !!! Drop in if you are ever in the neighborhood.

ive tried the jerked chicken patties and also the spicy beef. i must say that they barely had any meat and i had a hard time figuring out if there was chicken in them. it was a complete waste of money and also didnt satisfy me either. if they were to put more meat and chicken in their patties im sure it would taste better and not only be filled with beans… me not likes but i must give it another try next time by trying some other type of food instead.

This little place opened up a few months ago in my neighborhood. I knew this franchise from NY where I would buy patties from when I lived there and they were quite good. I was hoping for this franchise to have the same effect. I LOVE the patties here, they are even better than the ones I used to get in the Bronx. I am so happy this place is by my house. The spicy beef patty is my all-time long-time favorite, true to its nature(spicy). I have also tried the jerk chicken patty, veggie patty and chicken patty so far, they have been delicious. The patties are fresh always, very flaky and YUMMY! Sometimes they run out in the afternoon, so I would advice to go early. I haven’t tried their food, but that little place is always packed so I’m guessing its good. They also sell a variety of Jamaican cakes by the slice, very fresh. I like the guava flavored one. Try the spicy beef patty, if you can handle the heat!
