Let me start off by saying that I consider myself to be a Frita connoisseur… I’ve tried pretty much every Frita in Miami, and I must say that Frita Domino disappointed. The Frita was flavorless and boring. Slim patty with ketchup. The upside was that the papitas Juliana were excellent! Here’s my order of recommended Frita spots: 1-) El Rey De Las Fritas 2-) El Mago De Las Fritas 3-) On a good day= Sergio’s

Stopped by because I was in the mood for a frita and couldn’t drive out to bird road to el rey de la fritas which in my opinion is the best frita spot. Anyway… these fritas are horrible. They tate like mojo instead of chorizo. And they put ketchup! Stick to el rey de las fritas!

To me, no other frita comes close to this original Miami staple. Not only the best tasting fritas but their breaded steak sandwich with Julienne fries is the best in town. They took over a old Royal Castle building on sw 8 st and 67 ave before moving to the shopping center at the same intersection. One frita is never enough!

Portion sizes were manageable. That’s the menu. Period. Delicious, hearty, and capable of calling for a double bypass.

Good, solid Frita. I enjoyed it for lunch. Patty was a bit smaller than I would have liked but tasted very good, onions and home-style prepared thin cut fries mixed in. Run by an older Argentine couple — both VERYNICE! Was offered and given free Cuban coffee while I was there. Fritas came out super quick so A+ Service experience. Place is clean but kind of an old Laundromat feeling so no points there. But good, quick food at good prices if you are in the area of Sw 8th Street &67th Avenue(West Miami).

This place is a piece of work… hidden in a unsuspecting strip mall, as soon as you walk in you enter a temporal vortex and you suddenly find yourself in 1982 Miami Florida. The wallpaper, the Formica counter, the linoleum floors, the«hidden» illegal gambling room… and the old Cuban ladies that seem to have escaped their assisted living facilities all dolled-up with their penn-ball eqipped walkers and headed over for a quick snack. When I walked in I expected Perez Prado or Benny More to be playing, instead, I got greeted by Carlos Gardel and some old school Tango. not too shabby. Peeking thru the kitchen window is the Argentinian chef, I guess he had dibs on the radio. The place is as classy as saying the f-word in front of your grandma. drab, dilapidated, sketchy, shifty, messy but not dirty. Walked up to the counter and ordered from the Cubanita 3 fritas,(one cut in half), a pan con bistec, a wheat shake and a banana shake. The Food: As far as Fritas are concerned they need to have: 1) Warm hamburger bun 2) Flavorful Pattie 3) Onions 4) Ketchup *5) a forest of Julienne Fries *if your frita has potato sticks instead, please slap the owner in the face. Fritas Domino delivers, a VERY tasty pattie, albeit a bit skinny compared to el Rey de las Fritas’ pattie, the flavor compensates. I guess you need less when the flavor is so intense, still I wish I had more of that orange meat goodness. The onions are crisp, the right amount of ketchup and the plethora of julienne fries is just what a frita should be. Best enjoyed with half a Pan con Bistec which they nail pretty solidly here as well. Shakes, pretty good. The girl came over and gave us a complimentary thimble of Cuban coffee. Nice touch.

Is it a sketchy place? Yes. Is it weird that they have illegal gambling happening in the back? Maybe a little. However the food is great. Huge pan con bistec. I’m sure the fritas are good too. They gave us complimentary coffee which was nice of them.

It had been years since I have been here, but I was in the area the and decided to stop in. Huge mistake! First thing I noticed was the large amount of political campaign banners in the front, thought it was weird but ok whatever. Then as soon as I walk in I instantly notice the back room has gambling machines and an old lady smoking cigarettes back there. Totally an illegal front. At this point I should have walked out, but I was already here and I remember their fritas being pretty good back in the day. NOPE. The frita buns were some nasty generic hamburger buns and the fritas patty was void of any flavor or seasoning. I don’t know what happened to this place but from now on I’m sticking to El Rey.

Excellent customer service in this little shop. Very old school/art deco but the 3 items on their menu are perfection. Humungous pan con bistec, delicious pan con croquettes and incredible fritas! Topped off with a glass bottled coke or milk shake(try the mamey!) and a shot of Cuban coffee… HEAVENLY :) don’t be discouraged by the rougher look, the employees are great and the fritas take the cake. Enjoy!

Good, real Cuban fritas. Don’t go for the décor, I’m sure the place looks the same as it did 20 yrs ago, may not have been cleaned since then, but if it’s a good authentic frita you want, then this is the place!

My friend told me that I had to try this place since I had never had a frita after living in Miami for the past 3.5 years. So, we went up there today and ordered some fritas which were absolutely amazing. The shredded potatoes were so fine and absolutely perfect. The bun that the frita come on was nice and soft. On top of it all, the beef chorizo patty was not very greasy, which made it a very good eat. There are only three things on the menu(fritas, pan con bistec, and frita croqueta), but the fritas were absolutely fantastic and I hope to go back soon to get some more. The prices were very reasonable as well, which is always a plus.

I’ve tried fritas from Morro Castle and El Rey de las Fritas, but these are the best. Not too greasy(c’mon they have to be) with perfectly fried potatoes and fresh bread. The service is also good. Don’t be fooled by the unappealing corner locale at a strip mall… it worths every penny.

The fritas are amazing, but the atmosphere is horrible! I think they run a black market gambling in the back. Do stay to eat, but definitely take some fritas to go!

you know, it’s too bad this place has become such a dump because they really do have good fritas. it was better kept in the past, now they have gambling machines in the back. mind you, it’s a tiny place! isn’t that illegal? anyway, new management would do this place good. fritas: 4.5 ambiance of locale: — 5

I tracked down this restaurant after reading an article by Enrique Fernandez in the Miami Herald about finding the best frita in Miami. The restaurant is pure dive. I don’t think the décor has changed since it was a redneck luncheonette forty years ago, but the frita is the best that I have had. It had the usual spiced-up hamburger patty, but instead of the usual matchstick fried potatos, it has very fine«angel hair» potatos. As a mass, they feel soft, but the individual strands are crunchy. A restaurateur friend told me that Fritas Domino has a special potato shredding machine to make them. If you are a fritas fan, it is worth a detour to try a couple. WARNING: If you eat them in your car, you will end up with little pieces of shredded potato all over the place, and greasy hands. On another visit, I tried an «enrollado». That’s a hot dog, wrapped in bacon, fried, and served in a hot dog roll and SMOTHERED in the same crispy angel-hair fries as the frita. It sounded like a sinful delight, but it wasn’t. They used about the cheapest frankfurter they could find. I call them«bologna dogs». What a disappointment. If you stick with the fritas, you’ll do fine. The location is in the shopping center on the southwest corner of Calle Ocho and Ludlum Road(SW8th Street &SW67th Avenue). It’s the last store on the northwest corner of the shopping plaza, close to the Arby’s.
