Very exited to visit, drove a long way to come here, but notice(!) it’s shut down! Iwas very sad, because I’ve wanted to try this for a long time and was finally in Miami. I did find a surprisingly good hot dog at a churro place down the hall. Hopefully another one opens!

How the heck does this place have 3.5 stars? I was stuck @ Dolphin Mall & desperate for food, so I ordered a corn dog. There weren’t lots of options for food in the whole mall. Oh lord, while waiting for my food, I saw them making a salad for this girl and I felt bad for her! All of the ingredients were obviously canned or processed. Packaged shredded cheese, watery mushrooms(i don’t think you’re even supposed to eat uncooked canned mushrooms), canned corn… Gross! Anyway, the breading on my corn dog was really limp and lacking in texture and flavor. The hotdog itself was not great. I’ve had better at 7 – 11. I don’t know, it was like a rubbery hot dog that had been boiled or something, it reminded me of public school cafeteria food.

I was AMPED to try out these hot dogs when I first saw them on TV. I saw the«Salmon dog» and have dreamt, obsessed and salivated over trying this unique dog. So, I make a trip to Miami, enjoy everything Miami has to offer but then I’m told they have no salmon dog! WOMP! WOMP! WOMP! So, I went ahead and decided to just get some other dogs. I don’t remember what dogs I got but it definitely wasn’t the regular dog/frank. Which is a bad thing, because if I don’t remember it, then its not saying much is it? Don’t get me wrong, the people who served me were extra friendly, nice and attentive and fixed my order without a problem when they got it mixed up. The sweet potatoe fries were good and I had the typical soft drinks. The franks were by no means bad but they really weren’t anything to write home about either. I had high hopes and jerked off to getting and trying that salmon dog but at the end of the day, it just didn’t happen. What I eat here again? Certainly, the food was good enough that I scuffed down 4 franks and its definitely not a bad option. However, if you have had the best hot dogs on Earth(in Chicago) then you’re seriously not missing anything at this place. If you can’t make it to Chicago and in need of a great hot dog, this will do. They aren’t bad, they won’t give your mouth and stomach orgasms but they will do the job.

Franktitude is one of the more original and«innovative» eateries inside the Dolphin Mall food court. A good hot dog can be had here in addition to wraps, paninis, salads, burritos, and quesadillas. Everything is made fresh to order. I had a hot dog from this shop last Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving. Hot dogs are $ 4.29. They’re standard sized hot dogs. You can make them a foot long by adding $ 1.99. I had a regular sized dog, but the foot long looked mighty enticing. If I was hungrier, I would’ve ordered a foot long. Combos are also available for $ 7.69. The combo includes a regular dog, side(such as fries), and a fountain drink. You can customize your own hot dog(«D.I.Y.») or choose from one of their handful of pre-made dogs, such as the Honest dog(sauerkraut, relish, onion), Chili Cheese, and Cheeseburger. They even have Corn Dogs. I had the Honest dog and added chili to it. You order at one counter and pick up at another. At the pick-up counter, you can watch the Franktitude employees build your hot dog from scratch, sort of like watching a Subway sub being built. The franks are already rotating on the hot dog rollers. The buns are made from whole grain. Condiments, such as ketchup and mustard, are applied by the staff. The sauerkraut, relish, onion, and chili were piled high on my hot dog. I also had the employee add ketchup and mustard. He added a lot. See: . Overall, I thought it was a very good dog. My only gripe is with their chili. It has beans in it. I’m fine with chili and beans, but not on a hot dog. I prefer just meat chili on my hot dog. Had I known Franktitude’s chili had beans, I would’ve just skipped the chili and went with the default Honest dog. The rest of the toppings were fresh and the frank was hot and flavorful. Also, it wasn’t messy to eat. The toppings were applied just right so I wasn’t spilling chili and sauces all over the place. The employees were friendly and my hot dog was made fast. For hot dogs, I give Franktitude 3.5 stars rounded up to 4. While it does seem a hair gimmicky, the hot dogs are still good.

Yes, I am «that girl» that goes to a hot dog place to get a burrito so if you want a hot dog review I’ve got nothing for you! Their burrito, however, was surprisingly good. Also, for the price, you get so much food! Though I have been known to have quite an appetite, I felt like I was on man vs. food — and yes, that means I said«this time, man wins!» after my last bite :) Anyway, for all the men on here it might not seem quite as massive but I can almost guarantee it’ll fill you up, at the very least. Also, I love that their salsa has a little kick to it because I can’t stand«mild» salsa — but that’s my own personal bias.

Their salads are huge, you pick eight ingredients along with the protein. Its fresh and you can taste it. I wasn’t a fan of their hot dogs, but their salads i will have again, i found the taco bowl to be a waste i mean i don’t see how anyone can eat that fried dough like that, but to each its own.

BEWARE of this place! It’s absolutey gross. I chose this place because i had never tried it and it looked good from the outside. I had the chicken quesadillas with rice, beans and a sad excuse for guacamole. The quesadillas were bland, I didn’t try the beans and the rice was drenched in oil. The oil just flowed through the entire plate. Just thinking of it makes me want to gag. I will never eat here again.

I checked out Franktitude and I am not gonna lie it looks like a great spot. Especially since the menu has what seems to be healthy options. So I gave it a shot and ordered a chop chop style bowl with no rice of course. They started preparing my dish dicing tomatoes and thus far I was pleased. Then came the chicken! Wow that sucked they pulled out a Tyson chicken bag that was cut into chunks and well they heated it up and put it in my dish. Guys frozen chicken especially Tyson is gross. They glue chicken chunks together(which is that clear looking crap on it) chickens are fed nasty hormones sodium. Also the chickens are fed nasty hormones and sit in their feces all day. I liked everything about this place for well except their chicken.

They no longer have salmon dogs but this is still one of the places to get some of the best hot dogs in Miami. Why? Because their toppings bar rivals that of frozen yogurt shops and you can stick to your favorite or mix-n-match until you’ve created something that the rest of us would rave about and be slightly jealous we didn’t think of first. The service is friendly and fast. Everything is made to order and in front of you. I only wish this place was a stand alone instead of located inside a food court. If this Franktitude had its own storefront and some late night hours they’d be a hot spot.

So where does a girl who grew up on the best dogs on earth find a good Hot Dog in Miami? Don’t know? Well let me give you a hint, it just might be the place I am writing about here…(slow poke) Anyhow, I had passed by plenty of times always promising myself I would stop by one day and today my teen asked if we could grab a bite here. I was pretty impressed by the options and would love to say I was a good girl and got a salad. They have wonderful salad options, but no. I got me a DAWG! I got the one(forgot the name) with sauerkraut, onions and relish. I am from Chicago, of COURSE I would eat my dog this way silly! Aside from typical Chicago style this is Chicago peeps fav toppings. Was it worth it? YES! My girl got a combo and let me pick at her fries, which were fresh and absolutely delish. One serving was more than enough for the two of us. I definitely want to try different options… or not. The one I had was super.

Franktitude, how you tempt me with your fantastic toppings and melt-in-your-mouth bread. Although your new location is in the middle of an outlet mall, you are now slightly closer to me, and I thank you. My initial experience with franktitude as at their Downtown location near the library. They were so friendly, I felt as if I had walked into their home and was their guest. The service in dolphin mall… not so similar, but their food is equally divine. You can pile toppings galore on these dogs. I have yet to try the salmon dog, but it will be my next adventure. The nutella strawberry-banana dessert panini is outstanding. When this location used to be on 25th st, my friend and I would go after class once a week to indulge in this decadent, sinful morsel of goodness. Melty gooey nutella with sliced bananas and strawberris inside the same sweet hotdog bun covered in powder sugar. mmm… Ok, I’m hungry…

Salmon weiner anyone? We came here to try the all natural salmon hot dogs and they were just as I expected. They have beef and turkey too aside from the salmon. There are numerous toppings and I am looking forward to a return trip. The sweat potato fries are amazing!

I had heard about this place watching the travel channel and had been meaning to try it for quite some time. I was pleasently suprised at the fact that the salmon dogs don’t taste fishy and are actually kind of good for you. I had the«Completo» which had cheese, avocado, onions and mayonaise. It was really good… it hit the spot. Putting this place in a mall makes alot of sense because it is a healthier alternative to all the garbage that they serve in mall food courts. My girlfriend had one of the panini’s of which I sampled… and it was ok. It wasn’t as good as my «Completo». Next time I make my way to Dolphin Mall I will definitely swing by Franktitude.

My bf and I were shopping in Dolphin Mall and suddenly hunger struck! So we searched for something yummy and not to fattening and Franktitude caught our eyes. I had a panini sandwich and my bf had a wrap. They serve them with granny apple slices. Both were good though a bit overpriced. But hey, that’s what you have to pay in exchange for semi-healthy food, right? All in all, I liked it and would defnitely come back.

Three of the four original Franktitude locations have closed, but a new one opened last year in the Dolphin Mall food court. I went there to see if it was any better than the one that used to be open in Doral. The answer is: «Yes.» Here is a link to the old review: For those from out of town, the Dolphin Mall is located at NW12th Street next to the Florida Turnpike exit #27. You also can get there via the Dolphin Expressway(SR836) — going westbound, take the exit for northbound on the Turnpike, and you then branch off to the right for the aforementioned exit #27 for NW12th Street. Unlike the Doral location, this place is busy with mall shoppers. My order came up fairly quick(they cook the fries to order). I found that, unlike my experience last year, the fries were hot, the roll was from a different bakery, had a light egg-white-wash glaze to it, and was pulled from a steam drawer, so it was warm and soft. I first had a very plain dog, to evaluate the quality. It is a decent-sized, all-beef hot dog cooked on a roller grill. They must keep it turned up, because the dog was colored a bit, and properly hot. The fries were below-average, thin, frozen ones. Use plenty of ketchup. I also tried a footlong with sweet potato fries. The dog was good, although the sauerkraut is served at room temperature, so it seemed cold on the«hot» hot dog. The sweet potato fries were great! Crispy outside, creamy inside, and with a good sweet-potato flavor. Although I stayed with some ordinary items, this place is all about variety. They offer tofu, beef, chicken and salmon hot dogs, and have at least a dozen toppings, many of them fresh fruits, herbs and vegetables. The veggie types can easily find happiness here. The founder/owner is Chilean, and the signature Chilean hot dog on the menu is the Completo, which I plan to try. It has avocado spread, cheese, tomato and a squiggle of mayo on top. Or maybe the Salmon Dog with potato strings and wasabi mayo… One warning: If you order a plain dog with mustard, the servers have been trained to put a LOT of mustard on the hot dog in a signature squiggly fashion, and the default is yellow mustard. The code word for brown mustard is «Spicy» mustard.
