FIU’s Rec center is pretty awesome. They offer different classes and most of them are free (if they’re not then they’re $ 2, usually for the evening classes). You can rent out lockers for free (either outside of the locker rooms or, if you have your own lock, you can use the ones inside the locker rooms). They have a Tropical Smoothie right when you walk in on your right. The downstairs mostly has all the free weights, while the second floor has the resistance and cardio machines along with the various classes that are located inside separate rooms. They have personal trainers available (they’re not free, I’m not sure how much the cost is) and they also offer body composition assessments which are super cheap (I think they were about a dollar). The locker rooms (from my experience) are usually very well maintained with toilets, showers, lockers, scale and a large mirrored shelf place with outlets so you can blow dry your hair, put on makeup, or do whatever else you need to do. You do need your Panther ID to get in and they won’t let you in with jeans so make sure you’re dressed to workout when you arrive. :)
