Visiting from Southern California and should have known better than to venture out for Mexican food. Service was friendly, but that’s the only positive I can note. Food literally came out less than 5 minutes after we ordered it. Enchilada was horrible, ground beef in a tortilla with red sauce dumped over the top. Chili relleno was covered in so much sauce couldn’t even eat it. The flautas had decent beef filling but was s mothered in some sort of white sauce that had to be worked around. The cheese quesadilla was inedible, how is it even possible to ruin a cheese quesadilla? It was beyond disappointing. We may have high expectations, but intentionally picked some basics that we figured couldn’t be messed up. The rice was really all we could eat.

Service was good but the salsa that came with the chips was watery. Asked for queso that was so runny it must have been watered down as well. We were a party of four and none of us could finish our meals because it was so poorly made and tasteless.

El Vallarta is an excellent restaurant. The service is friendly and quick. Even a party of 8 can be seated typically within 10 minutes. The food is tasty and not overly salty. The parking lot is too small, but this is a minor issue at best. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good Mexican place in Miami.

Good food at an affordable price. Loved the salsa and chips. The only thing I would recommend is to warn customers that the side of Queso is $ 4(which is a big bowl) and not 50¢ like it says on the menu. Not sure if we were charged wrong but just a heads up.

Same polite staff, wonderful food, and huge menu as I expected after being a huge fan(and regular) at Joplin’s El Vallarta. I did notice the combination dinners and several other items are slightly higher priced in Miami, though, which honestly surprised me since it is a smaller town. The difference was not a big deal at all though, and the food was just as delicious. I think the chile relleno here was actually a bit better than at my usual El Vallarta(Joplin)! Everything else was very much the same. It’s a nice large restaurant close to most major Miami businesses with extra parking across the street.

We were passing through and thought we’d give it a try. Disappointing. We had the queso fundido and it had no queso nor fundido — just chorizo. We ordered a combination plate that had a Chile relleno that had no relleno. Que lastima!

Being from Arizona, I eat a ton of Mexican food. Good, bad, sketchy, I’ve had it all. This was the worst Mexican food I’ve ever had. Given its high ratings on both here and TripAdvisor, I had reasonably high expectations for this place, and expected something — anything — to be fresh, but nothing was. Maybe people here just don’t know any better? The horchata was way too sweet and had barely any cinnamon or rice taste to it. It just tasted like very sweet rice milk. The salsa tasted bland and watery, and was probably from a jar. Not even a hint of spice to it. Things only got worse from there. I ordered a dinner special with a beef burrito, beef taco, and chile relleno. They offered me «red sauce or white sauce.» I guess that should’ve been the first sign that something was amiss. The beef had to have been the lowest-grade beef I’ve ever had, it tasted like school cafeteria beef — watery and bland. The waitstaff assured me it was real ground beef, but given that it tasted worse than taco bell, I’m skeptical, as my stomach started hurting almost immediately. Everything was drowned in white sauce(which I had asked for on the side), and so the taco shell quickly turned to mush, while the chile relleno developed a moat of congealed white sauce on it and also turned mushy. The white sauce, by the way, was runny and tasted like nothing. I made it about 1⁄3rd of the way through my burrito and managed one bite of my taco before I had to call it quits. The waitstaff was at least nice about it, offering me something else, but I declined — can’t imagine anything here is any good. Service is good, but that isn’t much help when the food is this bad.

My granny lives in Miami. We go to El Vallarta’s all the time! They have amazing salsa and food! Just thinking about it makes my mouth water! It is fairly decently priced! Everytime I go to visit I eat there! It doesn’t take long to get your food and we can always order it as take out! My only complaint would be that I do feel uncomfortable when the Mexican male waitrons stare at me and talk in Spanish about me making it obvious! It seems to me it always happens at Mexican resteraunts! I don’t know why?

When we saw how full the parking lot was ee had high hopes for El Vallarta. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The menu is extensive — almost too big. The salsa tastes like ketchup and the enchilada sauce was bland yet at the same time much too salty. The service was fantastic, but that was the best part of the evening.

Like every other«Mexican» restaurant in this town its got the standard menu, and the standard bland taste throughout it. No spice really, but I guess they cater to the elderly customers that are regulars.

This is one of, if not, the best restaurant in town. The staff is always friendly and timely, but they don’t rush you. I eat here several time a month sometime with friends sometimes with just me and my small son. They are always attentive no matter the size of group. I’ve found many times at other places if it’s just my son and I we tend to be ignored, not so here and I especially love that. The food is always delicious, hot, and fresh. I’m not a salsa eater myself, but I hear it’s excellent from salsa fans, now if you want some pep you have to ask for the spicy stuff, the standard salsa they bring out is much more mild I am told. I personally ALWAYS order a large bowl of queso with my complimentary chips. It’s hot, creamy, and has just enough spice for me personally(I’m not a burn my tongue out of my mouth kind of gal though) I always order something different. I really like their fajita meat so I generally lean that direction. I usually ask that they use fajita meat rather than shredded if it’s applicable to the dish. The tortillas are always piping hot and soft, I could eat them solo. My son especially love their chicken with rice and queso off their kids menu, but if you have a finicky eater they have burgers and fries and the like for the kiddos. For girls night I order myself a margarita or strawberry daiquiri occasionally. It’s hit and miss depending on who the bartender is(Juan is excellent) sometimes you end up with too much water mixed in there. I love the atmosphere it has a very southwest feel in the décor and beautiful murals painted on the windows. Not too cramped, but there is a coziness and intimacy to the seating area. It’s never very loud, you can talk and there’s not need to shout or strain your ears. I will continue to return again and again!

Salsa is delicious! I like the grilled chicken with salsa and cheese. Chicken pollo I believe. The California burrito is delicious to-but a more calorie option :)

Your standard Midwest Mexican. No spice in the dishes, and only ketchup on the table. Probably made from canned foodstuffs that you can buy at the store yourself. At least the guac is fresh.

Chicken Emily or the Taco Salad are both good ‘healthy’ choices.

this is a great hole in the wall. the food here is well prepared and fresh. the staff are very attentive, and you are seated right a way. food service is quick, and well presented. i always seem to get the seafood fajita, i find it hard to order anything else, its just so good. they have a full bar with a variety of margaritas to choose from. the décor is bright… very bright… but comfortable and roomy. there is plenty of seating and i have never had to wait to be seated. the menu is little crowded but if you know what you like, you wont be disappointed.

Best Mexican food in Missouri… is in Oklahoma. We went here for lunch and I had no expectations. There were about 5 of us going so we decided to listen to a local and head here. The wait staff were very quick in getting our table ready and the complimentary chips and salsa. I ordered the Carne asada tacos and they were very good the beans were tasty as well. The meat was tender and the seasonings were above the average mexican joint. They seemed to care a great deal in the preperation of the food and it showed in the flavors coming through. The décor is very southwest and I thought I was in Arizona for a minute. It wasn’t crowded as I think few things in Miami(pronounced Miama. don’t get that wrong, they get real pissy about that) are. It was a working lunch and we were able to hear each other with the surrounding noise level and feel very comfortable there as well. The salsa is great and the service is friendly. I would recommend this little gem the next time you find yourself in sunny downtown Miami OK.
