Came here for lunch. I ordered the baby Churrasco with mushrooms, which I totally recommend, that mushroom sauce was delish everything blender perfectly. The waiting time for the food was perfect. The food came fast(thank GoD and the chef lol) service was also very good and understanding and very helpful.

Stopped by today and the food was amazing. It was probably one of the best Colombian dishes that I have had in a restaurant. The service was excellent.

Came here with my family. The food was terrible and the service was not good. Food tasted reheated and like it was from the day before. I used to enjoy this place, but I will not spend my money here again.

They have new management now which is awful. We stood in line for what seemed like forever. They took long packing the food for the person in front of us. So when we get to the counter and order they tell us to sit down since we wanted a menu item. We sit and nobody comes to take our order. I can’t review the food since we didn’t get to have any but the food from the old management was fantastic. Hopefully they get their act together in the next few months.

Stopped by for lunch on October 2nd and was recommended the chefs suggestion for the day, which was fish filet with tarragon sauce and it was delicious. The atmosphere was great. I was told this location has new owners and to be honest, this was my first time so I don’t know how it was before but it was very good. I definitely recommend it.

Sunday breakfast. I decided to skip my normal fare and have Colombian breakfast for the first time in years. I like what they offer but it will take another trip to truly complete this review. I had the breakfast platter that comes with 2 eggs, steak, rice & beans topped with pork rinds, an arepa with cheese, and coffee or hot chocolate. The rice and beans were excellent and their pork rinds were perfectly sized and very crispy. The perfect complement for the rice. The arepa with cheese was my favorite part of the meal(I just love cheese) even though the arepa was tortilla sized! That’s not a compaint because the bigger the arepa, the more cheese they have to put on it! The steak was under seasoned and didn’t add anything special to the meal. The eggs also let me down. I asked for fried eggs and I assumed they would be over easy but they made it over well. I like a runny yolk and should have mentioned it so that’s my fault. It doesn’t help that I tried my wife’s eggs which were«perico» style. That’s Colombian for«scrambled eggs with onions and tomatoes.» They were perfect and I was instantly jealous. So skip the steak and ask for perico eggs for an optimal result. This is a very filling breakfast. Another mistake(on my part) was asking for orange juice before asking if it was fresh. They don’t have fresh-squeezed OJ so stick with the coffee or a Colombian soda, lest you receive the dreaded«from concentrate» «juice» bottle. I’ll be back for a good breakfast and I need to try their empanadas and pandebono. I’m sure take two will yeild better results and I’ll update accordingly.

El Tejadito #2 has been around for a long time. It is now under new management and the food and presentation of the platters are delicious. I had a Bandeja Paisa and it’s delicious… I also had a Picada another day and it couldn’t have tasted better. I’m glad someone is taking the responsibility of what El Tejadito #2 is really supposed to be.

Bakery and restaurant. Either pick up a few empanadas or sit down and have a bandeja paisa for lunch. Good affordable Colombian food.

Came here for brunch on a Saturday morning, and had the Sancocho con Costillas and a breakfast plate that came with eggs, carne, mixed rice and beans with chicharones, a Columbian arepa with butter, and a coffee or hot chocolate. A very generous amount of food(3 – 4 meals worth) with coffee for $ 22. The Sancocho was a typical Latin soup laden with starchy vegetables and some pieces of fatty rib — while it wasn’t the best version of this soup I’ve ever had, it had depth and flavor, and the lime and salpicon definitely made it something that would cure any weekend morning affliction. It came with rice and a salad of avocado, beets, carrots, and cabbage, which was a nice refreshment. The breakfast plate was phenomenal — probably one of best Latin brunch plates I’ve had. All of the ingredients were fresh and perfectly cooked. The staff was friendly, and it was great to find a brunch spot with plenty of seating and quiet enough that you can have a conversation without competing with the table next to you. Many of the other guests looked like regulars and were treated warmly. I will definitely be back.

Colombian place just in front of FIU. It’s a bakery and a restaurant. Had lunch and ordered a Meat Sancocho, it was really good!!! It comes with two sides, and I chose rice and salad. It was definitely good, they bring lime and chopped cilantro for your soup, it feels like home made food. I would definitely come back to this place. A couple of tables were eating at the same time, so there’s turnover. Forgot to check out the pan de bono, which I am craving now!!! =.(

Been here a few times. Never for a sit down meal, just to pick up some Colombian goodies. I’ve been trying to get the husband and the kids into Colombian food, so I’m starting with the simple stuff. So far so good, they love the empanadas, pan de bono, pan de queso, chorizo. it’s very delicious. The staff are prompt in taking my order. this last time i was there i was telling my daughter i didn’t know the difference between pan de queso and pan de bono, the waiter surprised us when she replied in perfect English, «one is sweeter than the other» Imagine that, someone that speaks English, Impressive! Well a few items and 25 dollars later, the fam loves the food. it’s good a few times a month, and this way i can work my way up to a plato montañero.which my husband saw on an episode of Tony Bourdain and mentioned it looked delicious. so there’s a chance it’ll happen. I know my son will love it no matter what. He’s got more Colombian blood than Cuban thanks to me! will def go again.

Complete with just about any basic Colombian dish you like. The bakery has some delicious options too! El Tejadito has been around forever, when we first arrived in Miami this was the only place we would come. Now luckily we have a few places closer, but its definitely still a delicious place. If you are in the FIU area and are jonesing for some good solid Colombian food and a Refajo this is the place to be!

When I first heard this name, it brought back memories of growing up in another continent, there was a place with the same name that we so enjoyed that I thought for a second that this might be the distant cousin. Not so … but I was not disappointed either. This was a our go to place for Colombian food many years ago, before other more convenient places opened up in our area. That said, this place has a great Sancocho — a typical soup that will wake up the dead — it is rich, has loads of starchy roots, like potato, yuca and name and comes with a very generous bone with meat !! It is way better than what is sounds like in my dismal description. So here’s my suggestion: Go out for a night out on the town, get wasted, don’t drink and drive, and when you wake up the next day with a splitting headache, come to el tejadito and have yourself a Sancocho, or maybe just a good old fashioned chicken soup, you’ll be glad you did !! Oh yea… and wash it all down with a cold beer — Don’t forget to grab a cup of coffee on the way out — Voila !! Your day, just got a whole lot better.

Very good Colombian food for the area. It is a little pricey for a churassco but completely worth it. Offers specials every day for those who are looking to save a little money. The service is fairly quick and the restaurant is very clean. There is good music and authentic décor. It does help a lot if you speak or understand Spanish because most of the servers don’t speak English.

Colombian restaurant, bakery and cafeteria. The décor and ambience is nice and clean. But as far as food goes, I was not impressed even though they gave me a bowl of hot chocolate(yes, a BOWL, not a cup, which is really fine by me, I swear). I had ordered off of the menu. However, the food that is inside the hot glass counter looks good. So perhaps that would have been a better deal as I had seen also a lot of people getting food from there. This place also has live music in the weekends as well as Colombian souvenirs such as magazines, newspapers, music cds, dvds, etc. But the prices are a little higher than other bakeries I’ve seen in the area.
