This place has really good soups. The food portions are big, and the food is consistently good. Great place for breakfast. I’m not a fan of everything on the menu, but I love going here for Breakfast and soups. I usually split a small bowl of soup and an entre with my girlfriend as the portions are large. Based on the price to quality, this place rocks for sitdown dinning. Think greasy spoon with better than average food.

Very very disappointed. Just moved closely and I’ve been here three times now, first time going to the window and grabbing a few pastries and a coffee. Unless you’re hispanic, be prepared to wait a bit longer as the extra effort understanding English isn’t their priority. With the last time I was here, my girlfriend and I sat at a table around the corner and were joined by two other friends. It did take a few minutes for our server to actually come back and acknowledge us. When she did, we ordered two watermelon juices and two coffees, both were good. When we ordered our food, it ended up just being us pointing at the menu as she didn’t understand a word of what we were saying. My two other friends were too frustrated with the communication barrier and left… but we proceeded to order and hoped for the best. It was a Saturday morning, restaurant was busy so the food did take a little while to come out. She came back about 15 minutes later and told me «no potato» so I had to change to tater tots. Working in a restaurant, it shouldn’t take 15 minutes to realize you’re out of a product but anyways. When we got our food, it was ok. Nothing special. Our server didn’t come back to our table and when I finally got her attention she gave me a finger to wait a minute. Her eggs and ham scramble was tasteless and we did send it back for a sandwich instead. Needless to say, the sandwich wasn’t anything good either so we just took it with us. At another point I remember trying to ask another lady for salsa, she proceeded in getting our server who again didn’t understand what I was asking for and brought me A1 sauce. Frustrated, I tried asking for the manager and she ran off but never came back with anyone. I won’t be back and I advise anyone who doesn’t speak Spanish to find a different restaurant. There should be no reason that I should have trouble ordering and communicating in English. And I was shocked that after all of the frustration, she didn’t even try to find me a different server who spoke better English. Ridiculous.

Was not impressed with the chicken soup. There was more potatoes in the soup than chicken. It should have been called potato soup instead of chicken. I was highly disappointed.

Went here for authentic Cuban breakfast and wasn’t disappointed. The colada(large Cuban coffee) was strong(and sweet! Ask for no sugar if you don’t like it sweet). The Cuban bread was delicious. And the ham croquette was like a party in my mouth!!!

HORRIBLESERVICE!!! Don’t waste your time. I called in an order for take out here with my coworkers. They told me it would take about 40 minutes to deliver. After waiting over an hour with no delivery I called back and they could not find the order I placed. They put me on hold several times but were not able to help me. They did not offer to rush my order or make it up to me in any way. They are pretty close to where I was working. It’s not like they are 30 miles away. Ultimately we ordered from a different resturaunt. I will not try this again.

This Riconcito restaurant, and there are several, is quite good. We’ve been there several times for an inexpensive meal for a family of 5. Everything from midnight sandwiches and liver Italian style as well as churrasco steak have always been very tasty. Service here is also pretty good. however if you want better service, I recommend going to the other El Reconcito restaurant located at: 9979SW142nd Ave, Miami, FL33186 This restaurant is cleaner and the staff I belive are more frienfly and attentive and the older lady who serves as hostess is absolutely wonderful and pleasant. We happen to frequent this one more often because of its proximity to our home.

The food is fabulous and the prices so reasonable. The older Latin women can be a bit overbearing, but overall it’s a great experience!

Talk about torn… If I rated El Rincincito Latino solely on the take out process it would definitely be a one star review. On numerous occasions I’ve placed orders for takeout ranging from feeding five people to feeding 50; every single time we’ve had an issue. The last two times, when I arrived to pick up large orders, the food had not been started and was told it would be at least an hours’ wait. Needless to say I will not be ordering takeout from here ever again. Now dining at the restaurant is a whole other story altogether. The family and I come here often and the food is consistently exceptional. Let me warn you that the parking at this shopping center sucks. If you can get past that, once you make it into the restaurant you will find a clean box stuffed with tables, chairs, and a large counter with counter seating. In keeping with tradition a Cuban restaurants there is a sandwich station in the center of the dining area where you can watch Cuban sandwiches being prepared. The service is hit or miss, but that’s to be expected at a low-cost restaurant. I’m not as concerned with how they treat me as I am with the quality of the food, which as I wrote earlier, is exceptional. The ahiaco on Fridays is the best I’ve had, ever. The prices are so reasonable and the portions are huge. Lucky to have these guys in the neighborhood for a quick Cuban fix!

I usually order delivery or carryout dinner so I can’t comment on the servers too much but I don’t recall having a bad time when I’ve gone. The delivery drivers are super nice! One time, my entire family went for a walk because they said it would take 45 minutes. When we came back, the driver had been waiting for us because he arrived 10 minutes after we ordered. The restaurant, I’ve noticed, really caters to repeat customers. They ensure to have lasting relations with customers and speak personally with all of them. The food is sooooo good. You really get your money’s worth at this place.

Of course there was a slight language barrier but that was the least of my problem there. Food was good and cheap for lunch… I had to get a to go plate I was full off of two slices of my Miami sandwich. The only downside is they added a 15% gratuity for our bill which I had no problem paying but geez… You’re a small Cuban place … The gratuity was my only issue besides that great place!

This restaurant exemplifies why Unilocal is so great; we never would have found it otherwise. For $ 15, we got two tasty lunches. This is a diner-style restaurant, which I guess is a chain, but the menu is extensive and the value for the money is excellent. Toasted bread comes out when you sit down(with some kind of tasty grease that seems a bit too yellow to be butter). You get 2 sides with your meal. I chose the ½ pollo in the Cuban style. The Cuban style apparently is to fry it with some lemony flavor and cover it in onions. I didn’t eat the onions. The dark meat was delicious. The white meat was sadly dried out with that weird non-cohesive texture that overcooked chicken breast can get, where it sort of rolls apart under your tongue and sticks in your throat no matter how much you chew it. I would advise getting the ¼ and just getting dark meat. The plate also contained a couple shreds of lettuce and an inedible piece of tomato, that managed to be both green in places and rotten in others. In any case, it was cut from the end of the tomato, the part that people don’t usually eat. Husband got a pollo fricase, which he loved, and sopped up all the sauce. For my appetizers, I chose the fried yuca, which was not bad, and the tostones, which were great. They were huge and crispy, although a bit greasy. Hubby has yuca and arroz amarillo, and then kept picking at my tostones. I think there might have been some MSG in my meal, though, as I felt the symptoms of an MSG headache come on after I ate it. However, it wasn’t a lot, and the food was pretty tasty. It’s not the cleanest place I’ve ever eaten, but it was a lot of decent food for not a lot of money.

The breakfast is way better than lunch. My friend did not have a good expereicne. She took one taste and stated the food is distasteful and was disatisfied. She told the manager, in which, spoke only spanish. She paid 75% of her food and has one bite. Choose wisely.

So we were at the Miami Zoo when hunger struck. We figured it would be uncouth to eat the animals at the zoo, so we pulled out our phones and Unilocaled for a yummy place nearby to eat. We have never been to this area and were completely lost, to tell you the truth. This is the place that popped up on top of the list, so as good Unilocalers, we went with it! We wanted some tasty Cuban food since we were visiting Miami. When we arrived at Rinconcito Latino, we knew we were in a legit place. Why? Well, the to-go window had a line about 10 people deep and the restaurant area was packed as well. Both are always good signs for good food. On top of that, everyone in the place was Latin except for us, which is another good sign for the food. So all of the good signs we were seeing, also proved to be a bit of a downside because no one we encountered spoke English very well. My Spanish«es muy mal» on a good day. My hubby is better but got stage fight or something and forgot everything he knew when our server started talking to him in her rapid fire Cuban dialect. What made it hard as well is that the menu only had the names of dishes listed. They were listed in both Spanish and English, but without any of the details of the dish. I know several Cuban dishes I like, but I wanted to try something new, but without being able to even know what many of the dishes were, I had to go with something I already knew. Maybe next time I can try something new… We ended up ordering several Cuban sandwiches and some Arroz con Pollo. The classic Cuban sandwich was ok but on the dry side. It needed some more mayo or mustard or something. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t anything special either. The Arroz con Pollo was tasty but again on the dry side. The chicken breast that came with it was just super dry. I am used to getting this dish with dark meat, so maybe that was the problem. It needed something though desperately. The yellow rice was awesome though! My daughter, who never eats anything, ate a good ¼ of the rice on my plate. If she likes it, you know it is good. A big negative would be the bathroom. One thing is that it smelled a bit funny. It wasn’t super bad, but it sure didn’t smell like roses either. Also, there wasn’t a baby changing table. I am hyper aware of this fact because I have a toddler who is still in diapers. It is so hard when you need to change a diaper and there isn’t a place to do it in the restroom, especially a messy diaper. Ugh, mommy problems! Overall, the place was just ok in my book. I was hoping for super good Cuban food and we got just the regular stuff that we can get back home in Las Vegas.
