Con: Delivery took 1 hour and 50 minutes. Pro: The cachapa with shredded chicken was fantastic, great combination of flavor! Con: The patacon was mostly coleslaw, just one slice of ham, and the pernil was the worst I’ve ever tasted. Pro: Maizquesitos Con: Arepas and cachapas have doubled in price from the menu pictures posted on here.

The food was great, we ordered arepa with shredded meat and cheese, another one with black beans, cheese, and plantains, empanada of Cazon, and a cachapa. Everything was pretty good. They took long to bring out food but was made fresh

My mother in law brought me here to eat arepas. I was soo excited, living in Washington DC, these are the moments I live for when I come to Miami. We walk in and stand by register for 5 minutes, and no one pays attention to us. The owner was playing with his child who was playing behind the register, he ignores us. His wife looking straight in our faces but not registering in her head to take care of us. Laughing with the kitchen staff and playing with the other child– Right away you notice the service is not very good. I ordered jugo de mora, which I love and crave. I was delighted when it touched my lips, but two gulps of the juice… soooo sweet I needed a glass of water. Man was I dissapointed but soo looking forward to my arepa reina pepiada. After 15 minutes of sitting and waiting for our order, they ask us if we are waiting for anything else. Yes, we haven’t gotten our food. I finally get my reina pepiada which is shredded chicken, avocado and a little mayo. What I got was chicken and mayo! Omg I am really pissed off now. So I ask and they say, we don’t have avocado… Well… If no avocado shouldn’t you say we don’t have any, can we get you something else??? But no, instead the owner asks me with a mean face, do you not like it? Usually I get my way, but today is New Years Eve. So I let it go… But I can’t let go of the review I want to write, because I am pissed off and I really think all businesses deserve to read their flaws and work on them especially when it is you, the owners servicing the clients. Thanks to your overly sweet juice, «mayonnaise“arepa and terrible service I will never come back.

Unfortunately, this place is a no go. Portions are small, service is bad, prices a ridiculous. I tried to like this place, but it has let me down each and every time. Don’t waste your time and money.

Visited today for the first time. Ordered 2 Reina pepiadas, one empanada de carne, one mango juice, and a tequeno of cheese and guava = $ 20 The empanada of carne was terrible. Stale, and tasteless. Did not enjoy it at all. The reina pepiadas took a while to come out but were ok. I am used to them having avocado, these did not, but they we’re ok, I would order them again. The mango juice was yummy. The tequeno was ok. Very hard at the tips, but middle section was eatable. The staff was ok. The bill took forever to arrive, to the point that I walked over to the register and paid there. I will say, that when the waiter would come around, she made conversation and made a few nice comments about my daughter, which was nice. Most people that came in, mainly ordered the lunch special. Perhaps that is THE thing to order, I just really wanted the reina pepiadas. I will return again, but will order the reina pepiadas and mango juice only(and will probably order ahead so I can just pick up and not have to wait) Be sure to ask for the spicy sauce if you order this.

Thye offer me arroz con pollo as special of the day, after we pick the table and sit down out of the sun light, the lad offered me a piece of carne negra because the arroz con pollo run outof pollo? Non sense. Well they give me the meat I didn’t want from the begining, I ordered an empanada before the lunch arrive but empanada never show up so I cancelled the empanada. When it was time to pay they charge me for the meat and not fr the arroz con pollo I ordered and the lady at the register was mad because I didn’ take the empanada as a desert, Horrible place and it is not my first bad experience there.

Other than time to wait for the food and to pay(yes, to pay) could be faster, the food is good and fresh, the people are nice. I’ve been here several times, and I will come back may others because I like the place and food. waiting time is not a big issue for me, so if you are in a hurry, now you know this is not the place. They offer what is called«Cantina» so you can pay for several meals a fixed price and they give you a card that you can punch to know the remaining meals you can eat. The price for lunch with this system is super good. After all, a nice place.

This place is legit for Venezuelan arepas. I cam here with my mom after one of her friends put her on to this place. We both shared an empanada pabellon: fresh and great texture, plenty of flavor. Then of course, to the arepas, an arepa con carne mechada for her and an arepa Guayanes – they were both great. The flavors stood out that much more with some of their maybe-homemade hot sauce. Lastly, we shared a Peky lyche soda which I’d never had before– it tastes just like lychee. Aside from the great food they have a cantina service where you can get bulk orders of empandas and such. There are also plenty of flyers and newspapers with Venezuelan orientated news and services. This kind of place makes me wish for something similar for my mom’s home country’s cuisine. The restaurant is very casual and is a great place to have a quick lunch if in the area. I think its a family owned place since I saw quite a few people behind the counter and they had that way of talking to each other that seemed so very familiar. I suggest everyone stop in and order an arepa or two and tell your friends! This is most definitely a hidden jewel in the Kendall culinary landscape.

Tried this place on the recommendation of a friend, the arepas are very good however the service lacks. be prepared to wait the staff will not hurry up for anyone, don’t expect to be asked if you want help. when you see a person not doing anything ask them to help you. I give it a 3 star because like i previously mentioned the arepas are well prepared and taste good, however when I go to a restaurant I not only rate the food but also the service so do to the lack of the fore mentioned I would probably not go there again.

So I gave this place a second try and I wasn’t disappointed. Other than the wait, the food was fantastic. The arepa with stuffed mozzarella was fresh and absolutely delicious. The empanada with shredded beef and plantains was better than the first time I tried it. Will definitely be back :)

Yummy food especially the cachapas. Good prices and cool little atmosphere to eat I love the shredded beef with the sweet corn catchapa the arepas are also great. They also serve a daily cantina for a good price.

Overpriced arepa. Domino with canned beans and bland cheese which was obviously not venezuelan cheese. They didn’t mix the beans and cheese and they charge for each flavor separately. I asked for avocado in the arepa and I only got 2 sliced and got charged an extra flavor. Customer service is really bad. The lady was at the phone the whole time when placing my order.

Yay yay yay!!! So happy to have found this little place. I love all things Venezuelan — particularly cuisine which reminds me of my childhood. I stopped by here to grab a few things otw to a friend’s house for brunch. The food was amazing — cachapas were great, the empanadas(Cazon, pabellon, and cheese) were delicious, the tequenos were also very good. Pricing was reasonable and the place had a nice vibe to it although I didn’t stay and eat. I definitely plan to go back and try their desayunos, especially the Margariteno, which sounds amazing.

In one sentence… This place tastes like my childhood. I have been looking at the shell of what is now a wonderful Venezuelan restaurant for a couple of months now, waiting in anticipation for the day that they’d open their doors. They finally did. This place is about 1 minute away from my house by car. I cannot believe how great it feels to have a little taste of Venezuela right down the street! It’s about time! I used to have to drive at least 20 minutes to get anywhere that sold decent cachapas, and now they’re almost a little to close for comfort– for my waistline anyway. It’s been open for just a couple of weeks now, and when I visited today for lunch every table was occupied– I suppose there’s a great demand for a little home cooking around these parts… and boy am I thankful! We ordered the Pabellon Criollo and a Cachapa. The Pabellon came out right away– 7 bucks for delicious meat, rice, beans, plantains, and a soup to start. Great deal! Seasoning was amazing… The rice reminded me of the rice they served at the daycare I used to go to when I lived in Venezuela. The taste took me back more than my memory could alone. So awesome. The cachapa was also amazing, even better than my usual go-to spots to satisfy that particular craving(and it’s right by my house! I mentioned this already but it makes me so happy I’ll say it again!). The only drawback(and thus the reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5) is that the cachapa took so long to make it came out after the other dish we ordered was long gone and in our bellies– probably about 20 – 25 minutes. Kind of ridiculous to wait that long for what it is, and maybe they’re just not ready for the amount of people that were in there today. I don’t know. But when it came to the table and I put that first bite in my mouth, I forgot about how long I’d had to wait to savor it. So far, so good!
