I’m starting this review by letting you know this is a great neighborhood dive, breakfast place. This is not a fancy«Frenchie» type place with $ 5 coffee. They have a great cup of joe for a fair«cup-of-Joe» price. Good breakfast for a good price. Casual environment. It’s hidden away but can have a line on weekends. The line moves fast. The service is fast and the servers are pleasant. The environment is chill, relaxed and casual. The food is good. You can see some of Miami’s power brokers here having breakfast next to you. Come in flip flops and sweatpants and t-shirt or suit and tie, all welcome and all fit in. It’s a relaxed environment and the breakfast is what you would expect from a breakfast joint, basic breakfast staples, plus pancakes and a large selection of bagels. They have eggs Benedict every day. So, in summary, this is a 5 star breakfast dive where you can be yourself and feel at home and get a good meal.

From the moment I walked in, the service was disorganized and uninviting, most of the tables hadn’t been bussed. I’ve come here before to pickup some bagels, but this time I sat down and ate. The entire order was wrong. Service was extremely slow. I left very un satisfied. My recommendation is: order some bagels to go.

I had high hopes for this place per a friend’s recommendation. But it’s like a low end Denny’s. The inside is outdated and a little grimy(some may call this vintage charm?). My water glass had red lipstick on it, my Belgian waffle was hard and flavorless, and the syrup dispenser was sticky. My friend’s Reuben sandwich was good, by his description. The waitstaff is very friendly and attentive, but I don’t anticipate returning.

The service was fair but the food was sub par. I ordered the breakfast burrito with home fries. I enjoyed the bacon a lot but the rest just wasn’t that great. The home fries needed to be cooked/fried longer and given better spices. I have been on a mission lately to find a great breakfast burrito in south Florida. This is definitely not the spot for that. My biggest complaint is the cheese. It tasted like cheap cheddar, which for the price I guess I really shouldn’t be complaining but it wasn’t even melted. Since it had bagel in its name, I ordered a cinnamon raisin bagel. It was good, can’t complain. Overall, try it. It’s cheap and not terrible.

While four servers stand around doing nothing, apparently no one but the one girl behind the take out counter who is currently filling a very large to go order can get me four bagels to go. I sympathize with the girl behind the counter — certainly not her fault — but seems the sign of a poorly managed operation. So glad I don’t live here and need to come regularly

Good food but always a long wait. They could do so well if they were better organized. Always the same good food and prices if you have the time.

The way to my heart is through diner food. If you meet someone and they don’t like going to diners then they aren’t someone you need in your life. That being said, I was super excited to try this place. When you walk in you immediately come to the register. Walk around and you’ll come to the dining area where you’re free to take any open table. The dining area is the mix of one part moose lodge, one part old cabin, one part man cave that your weird uncle has, and one part 1970’s nostalgia– it’s weird. I noticed myself just staring at what was hanging up thinking, DAFUQ? That aside, my waitress was great. My glass was never empty. Side note: I drink a lot of liquid when I eat and she constantly made sure my glass was refilled– even when it was only halfway empty. I ordered the meat lovers omelette with potatoes and a sesame bagel. Now the bad part of my experience was that it took about 35 – 40 minutes to get my food– not really the fast diner experience I had wanted. She had asked if I wanted my bagel while I waited. I declined as I wanted it all together. My waitress kept apologizing, but still no food– not her fault, I get it. When I did get my order, it was great. I have absolutely no complaints about anything I ordered. Steam literally was rolling off of my plate so I know it wasn’t just sitting there and someone forgot to send it out to me. I would go back, but wouldn’t rush back there. I also wouldn’t go back there if I were in a rush. An hour in a diner seems a link long when you’re dining alone in my opinion. Side note: get a bagel, not toast. It’s called Coral Bagels for a reason– they’re delicious.

Great servers so my review is not about the servers. But I have to assume management is to blame for the horrible long ticket times Not sure why over the last 2 years the cooks keep leaving or simply taking days off with no one taking over for them creating long waits for food

DONOTGOHERE! A simple to-go order took over 30 minutes., that was estimated at 10 – 15. The staff is rude and spends more time on their phones than working. The place is dirty and the food is nothing special. The servers handle food(bagels, bread, etc) with their bare hand without even washing them after touching money, carrying dirty plates, etc.

My favorite breakfast spot. Quick and good. Eggs and corned beef hash with sliced tomatoes and croissants.

One of my favorite go to breakfast places. I’ve eaten here so many times I’ve lost count. The prices are amazing for the amount of food you get. I’ve never tried something that I haven’t liked, but my go to is always an omelette with a side of their famous house potatoes. Serious, those potatoes are the best! I dont know what they use to season them, but I need it! They are open very early and close around ¾pm so it’s a great spot for breakfast and lunch. They do offer breakfast through out the day so it’s good for the people who like breakfast for lunch. It’s usually packed for lunch during the week and for breakfast on the weekends so don’t be surprised if you hVe to wait for a table. The good news is that the service is very fast so tables are always clearing up quickly. Go try this place! You won’t be sorry.

This is my second time coming to this place and since i ate here literally the day before for breakfast and it was great i would expect the same. However this time it was anything but great. My server didnt say a word to me or my father and got my order wrong the first time so i sent it back and it came back cold, i didnt complain because i didnt want to be a pain in the ass. Over all i would only recommend this place for breakfast and dont set your expectations too high. Hopefully you get a better server then i did.

Been here only once a while ago and I’ll never be back… Food was okay, nothing spectacular or over the top. Reason for the one star… My waitress mixed up my credit card with another persons table. She came back and told me ‘my’ card was declined. Got my other card and basically charged me for another persons meal with my 1st card, and my meal with the second card I gave her. When she tried giving me back ‘my’ declined card she realized the mix up and frantically went to the pay area to try to find my card which they had misplaced. I was highly embarrassed with my friends since she was adamant that my card wasn’t running through, and I was also scared that they had given my card to a strangers table and had them run off with it. Really unorganized and slow service.

I came here on a Saturday morning to bring bagels for my coworkers. This was my first time here but apparently this bagel place has been a landmark breakfast joint in the Gables for years. Walked in and it was packed. Furniture was very dated. Order counter was in the middle of the restaurant. A friendly young lady took my to-go order right away. Then she told me to pick it up on the other side? Pickup counter was on the left side at the end of the bar seating area where you have to push your way in between people eating their breakfast… weird. Ordered 2 bagels w/smear and lox platter for myself. Bagels were fresh overflowing with cream cheese. My lox dish was just ordinary. I saw the lady behind the counter peeling them off from what it looked like a store bought plastic pouch. I should’ve tried their breakfast sandwich or omelette instead but was in a hurry. The prices were very reasonable though and the ambiance will definitely take you back in time. Might pay a visit again.

Now they are banning single diners, since credit card payment under $ 8 is forbidden too. The solution to falling business isn’t driving more diners away. However, with the recent drop in food quality, service and taste, maybe it’s best they do anything to keep diners from returning to this failed and now former«local institution» breakfast spot. New ownership please find Coral Bagel before it folds.

For what it is — a no nonsense, filling diner — Coral Bagels is great. My first few experiences with takeout left me unimpressed with slow service and rude cashiers, but I still enjoyed the amount of food I received for the price. Recently I’ve been coming here to sit down and eat, and left much more satisfied. Today I deviated from my usual eggs breakfast and went with the protein omelette — an egg white omelette with spinach, Boars Head turkey and swiss cheese. It was the best dish I’ve had here at Coral Bagels and I was very happy with my meal. The free coffee is a plus if you order an eggs breakfast, and it comes with choice of a bagel/bialy as well as choice of potatoes/fries.basically carb overload in the best way possible. I usually end up taking home the bagel to eat later. Anyway, venture over here if you are looking for substance — not glitz.

Super cheap, service is pretty good, quality is «you get what you pay for .» Great for post workout and hungover breakfast alike. Matzo ball will bring you back to life regardless. Standard breakfast items done right, served up quickly. Wish they would up their coffee game to include espresso, but no one is perfect. Cashier is super rude, she’s been there forever. Every time I order take out I feel like never coming back, but I do…

The low-star reviews do not lie. As much as I wanted to support this local establishment, I no longer can in good faith. This morning I came in and ordered grilled veggies(no butter) on a toasted bagel(no cheese, no pesto), with a small side of french fries. I wanted to be extra unhealthy before work this morning. The lady at the register already seemed annoyed, but I ignored it. About a half hour went by, and I ask her if it’s being worked on. She said the lady who is supposed to be cooking hasn’t started, but the cashier never so much as budged from her seat in order to tell the lady«in charge» of completing my order to expedite it a bit as I’ve already waited a significant amount of time. Another 15 minutes and I ask for a refund because unfortunately, I do have to get to work and ask for them to instead give me a plain bagel, not toasted, no cream cheese. The lady at the register scoffed at me, told the cook to forget about my order(which judging from looking at the kitchen, hasn’t even been started), gave me my money back. There was no «I apologize for any inconvenience,» there was nothing that showed me that anyone there cared that someone waited over 45 minutes for a to-go order that wasn’t even started. I saw people come in, sit, order, eat, and leave in the span of time I was there. Even then I STILL waited 10 minutes, I ask the cashier if she can just hand me a bagel, she said it was SOMEONEELSE’S job. Like, lady. Wash your hands, put a bagel in a bag and hand it to me. A waitress finally came and went out of her way to hand me the bagel. Then the lady at the register screamed«SHEHASN’T PAIDYET, YOUHAVETOCHARGEHER!» Excuse me? I was at the register and received a refund, and requested the bagel. I figured they weren’t going to charge me the two dollars or so the bagel would cost me for me being inconvenienced. I told her if she wants to fight me over a 2 dollar bagel, fine, I’ll pay. Then another waitress told me «Just leave, JUSTLEAVE.» You’d think I was trying to punch someone in the face or something. Yes, I had an annoyed tone but I did feel it was absolutely justified given the circumstances and the fact that NOONE even so much as did anything to better the situation. I used to buy bagels by the dozen here for my office, which honestly aren’t that great(sometimes even stale) but again, I try to eat at local places when at all possible. I’m not going to return ever again. Not-so-great food, and absolutely awful service. When their old regulars start kicking the bucket(who can wait 2 hours to eat breakfast) I don’t see this place thriving for much longer than that. I do hope that they one, fire their lazy cashier who is not a team player, and two, really focus on the fundamentals on what makes a place a great restaurant. Edit: Would like to add that their inspections are generally pretty deplorable.
