Was staying at the Marriott airport hotel so this bar was only a short walk to the courtyard Marriott next door. The four cheese kale on burger was so tasty. Waiters are really nice. Service is not exactly speedy but I was busy watching the jets game so it did not affect me.

The only reason that this restaurant got two stars is because the quesadillas were half way decent, as well as the nachos but that was only after they had to prepare them how they were supposed to be. The nachos came out without chicken or jalapeños, which is not how they are advertised in the menu. Secondly, it took over 20 minutes to get the check when there weren’t even 10 tables seated in the entire place. Our waitress completely disappeared and finally someone noticed we were sitting there with our card out ready to pay. Only go if you want to watch sports or if it’s just that convenient as a hotel guest, otherwise, I suggest you take your money elsewhere.

Shouldn’t expect much from a hotel bar but it should be eatable. Wings were undercooked, burger wayyyy overcrowded, fish in the fish taco was chewy. Drinks… the cost, of my Manhattan was the Same price I pay in Manhattan. Desert was good.

Breakfast was great! Fluffy scrambled eggs with a colorful mix of red potatoes, onions, and peppers, and a large portion of crispy bacon. However the meal was very expensive at over $ 13. Coffee and juice included but had to ask for refills each time. Friendly if somewhat inattentive staff.

In a desperate attempt to find a bar near the Miami Airport to catch the Pirates vs. Mets game, we set aside any prejudices we had about hotel restaurants and bars and stumbled into Champions Sports Bar in Courtyard Marriott. The ambiance was good, with many, many TVs. We sat at a booth with a private TV — the channel was changed to the game(no sound). The waitress was smiley and friendly; the hamburgers that we ordered(Champion and Latin Burgers) were delicious; draft list, though short, quenched our thirst. We were surprised at how much we enjoyed our burgers and fries(I ordered sweet potato fries). If we find ourselves in a similar situation, I would not frown at the idea of returning to a Champions Sports Bar.

I was staying at the Residence Inn Miami Airport so i decided to give Champions Sports Bar a try because the location is super convenient if you are staying at one of the surrounding hotels. I went there Thursday for dinner and the service was brutal, it took forever to get my food. I went with some friends and we had order cheese fries that were supposed to have pulled pork on them but then the waitress informed us that they didn’t have any pulled pork left so they brought us out cheese fries. It took about 20 minutes to get this order of cheese fries. We were then ready to place our dinner order and one of my buddies ordered the Ruban Sandwich but didn’t want onions on it, the waitress then said that the sandwiches are pre-made and they can’t change them. So he had to settle for a burger. After 35 minutes our dinner came out, the food was average, definitely wasn’t bad but wasn’t worth the wait. Then it took about 15 minutes to flag the waitress form to get the check. Keeping in mine not one drink refill was made by the waitress. I decided to give them another chance today by just ordering food to go. I placed my order and the waiter told me it will be about 25 minutes till its ready, which I thought was s pretty long time but I didn’t mind because I was going to sit by the pool anyway. I walked back into Champions 25 minutes later and then continued to wait an additional 20 minutes for the food, keep in mind that I ordered a flat bread pizza and a chicken quesadilla. I will not return to Champions because of their terrible service. There were about 7 tables that weren’t cleaned off upon arriving. There’s a serious management issue at Champions. Food isn’t worth the wait. Average pricing.

We stayed in the courtyard Hotel and didn’t want to go out for dinner because it was pretty late so we gave this restaurant a chance since its in the lobby of this hotel. We ordered a Caesar chicken salad which was really good but the Cuban sandwich was subpar. Service was extremely nice though.

Horrible service bad menu. Really a takes away from what is otherwise a not half bad cheaper hotel.

Disastrous chicken wings, good walnut/grape salad and a refreshing Champions Mojito. Pleasant service. Very limited menu. Super convenient if you’re in this hotel complex near the airport, else there’s a lot of choice nearby!

This is probably one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a hotel bar/restaurant. I ordered the half chicken — it was so dry and it felt like it had been sitting in a freezer for weeks before being cooked — disgusting doesn’t even capture my experience. The bar only had Merlot wines for red as they had«run out of everything else» — bad, bad impression. Spend your money elsewhere, this place should be taken over by someone who knows what they are doing!

Nice little bar. Especially if you want to half a late dinner with some of your friends, that’s a place to go. The kitchen is american and everything on the menu is pretty tasty.

Food was sub par at best. The wings were over cooked and small as can be. I had the fish which was over cooked and so dry I couldn’t eat it. I also asked for the veggies to be cooked with no butter and they were swimming in butter. Bar tender was nice and made up for the sub par food but it’s just another bad hotel restaurant.

This place is hard to figure out. As a venue for viewing sports it’s great; about as good a set up as there is. But the service is inexplicably off. It is not terrible nor is it very good — I just cannot pinpoint why, but it’s off. Perhaps the servers walk past the customers too often doing tasks and neglecting the customers. Additionally, the time between placing your order and receiving your food is consistently too long ever since opening. I was there opening week a few years ago and very little has changed in that respect. I was hoping for some improvement by now.

The night we were there for the 3rd time, we were disappointed. The server never introduced herself, she was slow to approach us and served us in dirty glasses. It was not super crowded but there was a few tables with 3 – 5 patrons as well as about 6 at the bar plus ourselves. In her defense she said she was there all day and there was a Heat game that night, she also did give us fresh drinks in clean glasses but at the same high price for not too stiff a drink.

Good sports bar. Wings were tasty but not super spicy((had their hottest). Temperature wise though they were not hot! Blue cheese burger had good taste. Cole slaw was excellent Service overall was very good Only complaint is their lack of a big screen. They’ve got 4 TVs together so the centre of the picture is always a big, obnoxious black cross

Watch the wings!!! Even the«humming» wings were burning!!! :) Sliders were good… both the beef & the pork… And service was very good, very attentive. Of course, it’s great to go watch a game: there are tv’s everywhere you look! Fun place to hang out…

We were told that this was the«Upscale» Champions Sports Bar at the front desk and when we got down and had the food, it was anything but upscale. The food looked really good when it came out but it was bland and expensive. The burger was average at best, the wings were undercooked and the chips with guac was pretty lame and not fresh guac but I would imagine something out of a can. The only redeeming factor was the amazing Bloody Mary. Freshly made with their own house recipe. If you stay here this is your only option, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come to this place.

Since Champions was located in our hotel complex, SIL and I came here for drinks and apps before meeting up with her Cuzzo and a friend for dinner one evening in Miami. I wasn’t expecting much from a hotel sports bar, so I was *really* pleasantly surprised. The specials were good, the service was incredibly friendly, and our food really hit the spot. The atmosphere is clean, sleek, and chic. Flat screen TVs show football, UFC, soccer, basketball — whatever’s in season. And when the Heat plays, there are drink specials to match. When we showed up on a Friday evening, the special of the day was $ 3 pints of Sam Adams Winter Lager. $ 3, you say? At a hotel bar? I’ll take four. There are other daily specials, too, like half price coladas, buckets of Corona, and margaritas at a steal. Even tho we were meeting folks for dinner, I can’t resist nachos. So I ordered some. I have a weak spot(in my belly) for a mound of crisp tortilla chips smothered in obscene amounts of cheese, sour cream, and salsa. So many places take the easy way out, tho — Cheez Whiz, skimpy portions, not baking the nachos under a Salamander — that I’m often sorely disappointed. I dare say that Champions’ nachos are some of the best I’ve ever sampled. No, seriously: a *gargantuan* pile of tri-colored corn chips, fresh salsa and even fresher guac, heaps of full-fat sour cream, tons of jalapeño(I asked our server to pile them on, and he made sure they were), mountains of chopped tomato, an abundance of black beans, and loads of *real* cheddar melted to a perfect gooey glue holding the whole lot together. Finger-licking, swoon-worthy delicious. When nachos are good, they are SO.GOOD. Thank you for your commitment to this humblest and most satisfying of bar treats, Champions. This just may be the King of Hotel(Sports) Bars.

Great place to watch a game. Just don’t order the appetizer platter if you have small children as it is pretty obscene!

So, I came here last night because I saw an event listing on Unilocal saying that the UFC115 fight between Chuck Liddell and Rich Franklin would be… free(!!!) And… it was(!!!) See, for people who don’t have a boyfriend completely obsessed with this sport — that drags you into his obsession kicking and screaming and yelling«But it all just looks like soft-core porn to me!» until one day you find yourself upset that Rampage Jackson lost to Rashad Evans and you can’t really understand why — usually if you want to see a UFC Pay-Per-View fight in a bar, the bar charges you an arm, a leg, your last week’s paycheck, your 401k, and your niece’s tooth fairy money just to *view* the fight. Then they slap you with ridiculous prices for food and mandate some kind of drink minimum. Not at Champion’s! Most likely because they want to attract locals to a hotel bar, they actually want you to sit and eat their food, enjoy yourself, and indulge in some of their specials, like $ 3 Yuengling drafts and 2−4−1 on some kind of Russian vodka, a brand that’s name escapes me at the moment but is still swimming through my system this morning, as I type this review. So, I can say from experience, they don’t skimp on the booze. Not to mention, despite being located in the Marriott right by the airport(don’t worry, the restaurant validates for parking), the ambiance is surprisingly sweet. The interior kind of resembles a mini version of the Yard House or Gatsby’s, kind of a Playboy/boy’s club kind of look — lots of glossy wood and dim lighting, one or two bold colors — not to mention a wall of gigantic plasmas with seating right smack dab in front of it, a bar with another 384794738 gazillion TVs hanging above the glassware, and my fave, a personal flat screen for each booth in the restaurant — all playing the same fight! Food was pretty decent. The best thing I tried was their burger with blue cheese crumbled all over the top. I also tried the chicken BLT wrap, which I wasn’t really impressed with(the wrap tasted like a Taco Bell tortilla that came straight from the box) but the homemade potato chips that came on the side were pretty bad ass. My table also shared nachos, good and standard, smothered with all the usual suspects. My only problem with said nachos was that they were also on special, half off. But instead of just giving us their regular sized nachos half-off, they shrunk the size, so they really weren’t giving us half-off nachos, just smaller, cheaper nachos. But, honestly, the nacho-nuisance(and, okay, the wrap) is my only complaint. Otherwise, this place is a pretty fantastic sports bar! And I hope they keep things up!
