We have eaten here several times. The food has never been amazing but just basically good standard French bistro fare. The dining room is a little cold, it is a very large feeling space, not very cozy as a bistro should be. They do have a lot of specials and interesting small dishes which allows you to try a few different things. The problem comes with the service and the attitude. The service is typically hit or miss. If there is a table or group who are regulars or friends, you will be in for a long meal. One day we walked up to the door for lunch and they waitress said that they had just closed for lunch. By my watch we still has a few minutes before their supposed closing time but even if it was a minute or two past their closing time, they don’t want some more customers? It is not like it has ever been any near full the times I have been there? Maybe they were just practicing their Frenchness.

This place was a TOTALDISASTER! LONGSTORYSHORT — The waiter drops entrée on the ground when I ask him to pack it for to-go. He scurries inside for 10 mins, comes running back outside, picks up the duck off the ground, runs inside, and brings me a take out container of what was supposedly a «new entrée.» ITWASTHESAMEFREAKINGTHINGTHATFELLONTHEGROUND! I AMNOTKIDDING! DONOTGOHERE! ITISUNBELIEVABLE! Read on for details: 3 of us went and the night was just a nightmare from the beginning. The manager/owner don’t know who the guy in charge was. but he is a total JERK. Seriously. an ass with no class. My friend orders a bottle of wine and without showing it to us, the waiter proceeds to pour the wine. We then notice it’s not a cork bottle but a twisty cap one. and we tell him we don’t want it. The manager comes out and starts bitching at us. and he tries his very best to convince us that all wine bottles are going away from using corks and we have no right to question the quality of his wine. WESIMPLYDIDN’T WANTIT. Is that NOT an option!?! He should have shown us the bottle before serving it. That’s that. The poor waiter, not to fault him because he was probably new. but he had no idea what was going on. He gave us the wrong prices for the specials on the board but in his defense, he came back out after we had ordered to correct his mistake… He served us bread without any plates on the table. had to ask for those. Here is the absolute BESTPART of the night. THEYPURPOSELYPACKEDMYDROPPEDENTREEANDTRIEDTOFOOOOOOLME! OMFG I still can NOT believe this place!!! I was so full from the bread and apps that I barely touched my duck. I cut off one tiny piece from 2 corners. I then called the waiter and asked him to pack it to go. Since we were sitting outside, when the waiter went to grab my plate, the duck slipped off and fell onto the grass. The waiter kindly said«oh, I guess that will be a free meal for you.» 10 minutes later he comes outside and says to me «Oh, the manager would like to offer a free espresso» AREYOUKIDDINGME??? The entrée was practically untouched!!! It was on the ground because of the waiter! I was INFURIATED! Somehow, I convinced them to pack a new entrée for me and the night had gone so poorly that my sister joked«I’ll bet they’ll pack the same duck for you haha» WELLHARDYHARHAR when it came out, I checked it. SAME2 cuts I had made on mine earlier!!! However, it was nicely garnished. ASSHOLES! I argued with the manager for a while until I finally pulled out the duck and showed him where I had made my cuts earlier. He immediately apologized and gave me some bull shit story about how he had asked the chef to pack it for his dog and the boxes must have gotten mixed up. Garnish? for dogs? REALLY? Here is the cherry on top. «I’m sorry we packed your fallen entrée and lied to you. how’s a glass of champagne?» YES! That is ALLWEGOT! a STUPIDASSGLASSOFCHAMPAGNE. I HATETHISPLACE! I can NOTBELIEVETHEYDIDTHISTOUS! DONOTGO! seriously. it’s a big piece of crap.

The restaurant is located in a strip mall just south of the Dadeland Mall on US1. The interior was surprisingly nice and very clean. Make sure to take note of the«specials,» which are scrawled on chalk boards and actually constitute about half of the menu in total. The service is rough. The waitstaff are young and obviously inexperienced but friendly and earnest, which I actually thought was a nice change from the Miami status quo. In short, don’t expect five star service but do enjoy the lack of attitude. The menu options looked very promising and reached beyond typical steak frites fare, although that’s also available for the unadventurous. However, the food was severely disappointing. Nearly everything was garnished with chopped parsley. That should have been a warning sign. In summary, the results are a product of over-confidence bordering on laziness. While some diners won’t detect the difference between braised meat and meat that has been dry-cooked and then sauced, others will. The lamb shank and coq au vin shared the same generic, unstrained, and unremarkable demi-glaceish base. The coq au vin had other problems as well: a notable absence of lardons, paucity of mushrooms, and minimal wine flavor owing to its probable addition as a last-minute splash. The final result just comes across as half-hearted. The appetizers were also problematic, but I’ve said enough. I would have loved to try a soufflé, but they«weren’t available» when the time rolled around to order… must have just missed whatever that window was since other diners were enjoying them. The souffles that I saw leave the kitchen all had domed tops. A soufflé dish that is properly prepared with butter, dusted with sugar, and filled with leveled-off base should yield a flat top. Again, as with the entrees, it seems like a little more effort would produce better results. Giving this establishment the benefit of the doubt, perhaps the seafood dishes are better. I would really like to rate it higher, but since two Unilocal stars equates to «Meh. I’ve experienced better,» it really is the best option. I would suggest that you try this place for yourself since other Unilocalers have obviously enjoyed it, but I won’t be returning.

This is a very typical french bistro, but its in a strip mall. If this café was in New York, or London there would be a line around the block. The food is that good. The menu reads like a french cook book. After I read the special board and the appetizer board plus the menu, there were so many options. I had the frog legs and snail appetizer, served in a garlic, leek, and cream sauce. My Husband had the mixed greens with warm duck confit, both were out of this world. The main course my husband chose was the rabbit stew, served with a mushroom and red wine sauce. He thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the ½ duck roasted with cherries(monmentrency) and roasted vegetables. So good, and the waiter even separated the meat from the bone for me since I was having a hard time trying not to make a mess on myself. If you go don’t be afraid to try something different, this is not your basic french café, the chef has a great sense of what classic french fare is all about.

I was here for the first time on Friday night. I was apprehensive about going to a French restaurant because let’s face it… how authentic can it really be in a strip mall! Never judge a book by it’s cover is the moral of the lesson here! I started with pâté which was amazing! My main dish was the duck with a cranberry sauce that was beyond words that could do it justice. The dessert… chocolate souflee! The server was very attentive. She suggested a bottle of wine that did not disappoint HOBNOB, a pinot noir that was AMAZING! My friend had the coq au vin… scrumptous!!! The service was amazing! The owner/chef came to our table several times to ask how everything was! I felt sooooooo VIP!!!

I LOVE this place. It’s truly a hidden gem. Tucked away in a little strip mall, you’d never think this place was so good. The place offers authentic French food in a casual-elegant atmosphere. They have a ton of daily specials and offer a nice variety of dishes. All are great. Definitely leave room for dessert.

We love this little treasure here in Pinecrest, the food is excellent the service is very friendly, attentive and down to earth and the owner, Victor is a pleasure to see whether we go for lunch, dinner or just dessert. everything is fresh and authentic and it is a relaxing fun place to dine. people from other tables actually talk to each other and no one rushes anyone or anything… how many owners will drive to the keys to insure the freshest seafood. go enjoy, bon appetite.

Was really excited to try this place and was in a very positive mood. That changes after 10 minutes waiting for someone to notice us and then ANOTHER10 minutes to bring my girlfriend her wine, which was brought with the appetizers. We had a shrimp/avocado appetizer which was a special. Came with some funky sauce, very tasty. Enjoyable For entrees we had the beef stew and a pork/apple special. Beef stew was way too salty for both of us, not sure if our palettes are not refined. The pork special was good, very tender which is hard with pork. Dessert was the crème brûlée which got better with every spoon. I wanted the apple pie, but they were out of ice cream There were two large groups, which the chef seemed to pay alot of attention to. One of the large groups got their wine before we did, even though we arrived before them by a good amount of time. That irks me. Overall I found it overpriced and underwhelming. Way too much to choose from as well, when I asked about the specials the waiter just started rattling through all of them quickly in a heavy accent… I really wanted to like this place, it is so close to my house and parking is easy. Can’t say I will go back because it was just too expensive to try again.

Bistro Bisou is fantastic! The décor is really cute and romantic. Like Eddy D. said, you won’t even know you’re in a strip mall on US1. They have fantastic salads and seafood dishes. I haven’t tried any of the poultry or meat dishes yet, but I’m sure they’re good, too. Make sure you save room for dessert. I tried the apple pie, which was nothing like an American apple pie, but it was amazing! They also have crème brule, which you can never go wrong with. If you don’t speak French or have never had French food, don’t be scared to ask questions. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Stumbled upon this French hole in the wall after leaving an, under new management Hooligann’s. The décor of the place was very authentic and soothing with a replica Eiffel Tower and all. Inside it felt like you were miles away from a strip mall on US1, it was a pleasure just to sit there. The service was very friendly and helpful with entrée and wine selections. The specials were all very inticing, to start we had frog legs and escargot in a garlic butter sauce. I’ve never had either and I don’t think the frog legs were my favorite, and they don’t taste like chicken, but the escargots were like quagulated savory butter bites. For entrée I had the house Steak with oddly enough french fries, the meal was terrific and I would definatly go out of my way to go again. To top it off we shared a chocolate souflee that was so good it made my knees rattle a bit. Great call for a random romantic dinner.

My review is based on only one visit, but this place was fantastic! The service was nice, the décor lovely, the bread savory, and my meal delightful. Also their quiche is just… OMG. Considering the locale one wouldn’t expect to find such a gem, but their salad menu alone could leave one on the floor in orgasmic spasms. My salad was endive, gorgonzola, and candied pecans in a mustard vinaigrette dressing. Every salad involved something along those lines: candied walnuts, toasted brie or goatcheese, roasted almonds. Apparently their mussles are to-die? And they really have escargot. I smell a second visit approaching.

French mall restaurant?! Sure thing — and this place has pretty good food and nice interior — even genuine French staff. Actually neighboring places didn’t look too bad either. Onion soup was super, chicken baguette was maybe a bit too chewy.
