Honestly, I myself have never had a bad experience here. Can I believe the bad experiences? Yes. Up until recently customer service wasn’t that great. I would say give it another try as the staff has changed, besides the food speaks for itself. A bit pricy at times but worth it. Cookies are bomb!

This place is TERRIBLE! I placed an order for 3 sandwiches and a salad and was given terrible customer service over the phone. Employee did not know how to take an order. Waited around for the food to arrive for over an hour and nothing came. Called them to find out what the deal with my order was and they told me that they don’t deliver to my area and they aren’t sure who I had spoken to because my order wasn’t in the system. Long story short I gave my credit card information to an apparently non-existent employee that picked up their phone and waited over an hour for nothing. Do not order from here or go here. Spare yourself.

I wanted so badly to love this place! There were just too many things that weren’t right… I ordered the cilantro chicken salad that did not have any cilantro, the lettuce was also a little bit warmer than room temperature. The chicken was something I didn’t even eat. It had been sitting out I guess being precooked and was hard and chewy. The forks and knives they give you are very cheap and flimsy and small… There’s no way you can pick up lettuce and chicken and maybe a tomato in a bite. The dressing was their house dressing but it was basically not very good olive oil with dried herbs sprinkled in it. The cashier was sweet but there was what looked like 3 other staff just standing there leaning on the wall. Maybe it was shift change or something but the tables were not wiped and there was a total of 5 customers sitting and eating. Oh and it was noon! Lunchtime mid week. What could have been a winner because of the healthy menu options was totally a waste of time & money.

This place is alright… I order the California Tuna wrap which has mozzarella, tuna salad, tomato, alfalfa, avocado & vinaigrette… Ask for aioli mayo on it, it gives it flavor. You can choose a side but it’s a very small side… I order the pasta salad. To be honest, I find it a little pricey for what it is. The tables and benches aren’t always wiped down so I’ve had to clean my seat and table the last 2 times I’ve been there. I’ve gone a couple of times because my fiancé really enjoys the turkey sandwich there.

Just wanted to let the owner know that I found the food good however the place was pretty dirty. If the distressed and dirty look is what you are going for… it has been achieved. I have ordered out from there many times and so has my son. I did not know the place was so dirty. it is a shame because the food tastes good. There were no napkins, little water in the pitcher and several staff members just chilling. They were friendly but not into taking care of what is needed to make customers feel they are welcomed. Perhaps your goal is more take out than eat in. It’s a shame that the place and your workers are NOT up to par with the food.

I have been coming to 1909 for years, and I have to agree with a lot of the comments, the employees need a course on customer service. I called in a delivery(which they got wrong) and mid-sentence she just starts talking to someone else. No «please hold» or anything. The food is great but front of the house matters a lot when it comes to having return customers.

I loved the old location, but what is going on with the service at the new one? I have been eating here for years, but the last two times, I’m sorry to say I’m really disappointed. I read the other reviews, OWNERS Pay attention!!! Your service staff is horrible. Today, the person taking my order answered a call in the middle of my order, yelled a cross the place about a complaining customer on the phone, and was really apathetic almost bothered by us. Honestly, I won’t come back until I read some changes where made. You built a great reputation, don’t let a careless crew ruin it! I rather you close on Sunday’s than to come in with this level of service again. Good luck!

I was surprised to find this place lacking on stars, especially considering their awesome new location. I love this place for many reasons, including friendly service, some of the best homemade chocolate chip cookies ever, and my favorite and following DELICIOUS and fresh menu items… Cilantro chicken salad — a huge portion of chicken, cilantro, feta, tomatoes, and avocado on a bed of fresh greens with tortilla strips. Or the midnight express — basically their play on the media noche, with deliciously cooked pork. It’s so good that they sometimes sell out of pork early on the weekends. Everything is also VERY reasonably priced. I wish we had one in downtown coral gables, although they do deliver, so that’s a plus. Delivery usually takes 45 minutes, so just plan ahead for it. If you think about it, it’s pretty reasonable considering cook/prep time and traffic in Miami.

Same delicious sandwiches different location. I love their French Kiss, Bayou Chicken & Miami Twice. Soups such as squash, Italian Wedding & malanga are delicious. If you are in the mood for a salad instead– the same ingredients go into their salads!

I ordered 2 breakfast wraps and 2 coffees to go: I went here the other day and waited 20 minutes after I placed my order to receive my iced coffee. I finally got it and the cream I used was spoiled. It was a solid piece. When I brought it back it took 10 more minutes to get a new coffee(Mind you it’s regular brewed coffee and ice. Also keep in mind it’s now been 30 minutes and my food isn’t ready) when I went up to see why my coffee was taking so long I saw her look at something in the coffee and pour it out and put more ice and more coffee in the same cup. When my coffee was finally done I asked for new cream. The cashier said she thinks the cream she gave me isn’t bad she thinks. I told her I didn’t want cream from the same batch and she was completely rude. I waited 30+ min for eggs and coffee just to demand a refund.

I have been coming here for over 10 years and absolutely love this place. The sandwiches are unique from the godfather to the California tuna. I also would recommend thier soups. Emilio and his staff are very attentive and friendly. Busy at work… call them, they deliver.

First time for me in their new location. Apparently they have almost a month or so here. The place needs to be cleaned better, specially the counter and the sitting area by the windows. You can feel the dust in the nose. The food is as wonderful as ever.

Our office gave 1909 a second chance today, after our last poor experience with lengthy delivery. Despite hiring more drivers and admitting on IG that more than 45 minutes delivery is excessive, they took 1 hour 35 minutes today. Sorry guys but your second chance was a bust.
