Signature Market

Use to be my favorite place to go before work until I went in there today with out my work uniform and they immediately wanted me out of the store. Fay decided to start yelling at me for opening the cooler door. If you have shopped for beverages you know you need to open the cooler door to get your beverage. Duh. Anyway I always get the same thing from there Gatorade protein shake banana water and smokes. For that reason my routine is the same every time. The only difference today is no work uniform. I’ve heard from family and friends that visit that they were quite stand offish to black people but couldn’t believe it until today. WOW. Even the guy who did recognize who I was tucked his tail between his legs and went with everyone else on the matter.

I’m only rating the empanadas. As far as visually, this place has that new look. Neat and clean. It’s a Mart. Soda and beer prices are (Miami beach) normal. But as far as the ham n cheese empanadas that I had… hmmmm… They were dry, and heated up in the microwave (which I understand. Specially at 1:30am). Dry empanadas are never good. The ones around my neighborhood (here in Miami beach also) are waayyy better. So crispy, toasty, and the cheese so juicy and melted.

This place is right around the corner from my apt. It’s relatively new .I think they opened in 2014. Always clean, staff at caffe side always incredibly friendly, and they have clean food options. The market seems to be above average price but it’s a convenient.
