dropped by at the end of a friends birthday get together. service was immediate and they didn’t mind opening up a separate tab for just me — kudos. they’ll get you a draft from the irish pub next door, which is very nice of them. not nearly as crowded and hyped as the other segafredo’s, which is why it gets a good review.

It’s not the best of anything. It’s not the worst, either. However, there’s got to be a better place for Italian coffee. The menu is so unItalian. It’s trying to please everybody, and somehow it works. Maybe it’s the location. Even though it’s not Lincoln Road, this location is also ideal for people watching. I’ll go back partly because of the special and the ambiance. There’s a good vibe especially happy hour and evening. TIP: If you want more activity and people-watching, go to Lincoln Road’s Segafredo.

Best vibe on Espanola tucked away towards they end if you want to people watch and not pay south beach prices for drinks. Plus the drink menu has around 100 different kinds of drinks mainly under $ 10. I love the lychee martini. Also this place doesn’t rush you at all. They come around every so often to just check if you want another drink. I love how they are not pushy. If you are a local, or even from out of town this is the place you want to hit to people watch on Espanola and just relax.

We were hungry and looking for a decent place to eat late on a Saturday night. We wandered down Espanola Way, but most of the restaurants seemed to be closed. We ended up stopping at Segafredo, at the end of the block. There were no available tables outside(but people were smoking a lot, so we really didn’t want to sit near them anyway). So, the host showed us to a table inside. There was a DJ spinning music, which was turned up SOLOUD that you couldn’t even have a conversation without screaming. We asked to be moved to another table, but every table inside was subjected to this ridiculously high volume. Eventually, a table outside opened up, so we moved there. The food was just so-so. Service was poor. I highly recommend going someplace else, unless you really like REALLYLOUD music and you just want drinks.

I love the location, outdoor seating & the mojitos, but this place is a magnet for douchy snobs & the staff is EXTREMELY rude and pretentious. They treat you like trash. I’ve gone there multiple times & the hostess & servers are just plain snooty. If you’re going to go, just skip the food & order drinks. That way you won’t have to speak to the server as much.

We went here with a group of friends for after-dinner drinks. It was dumping rain and we didn’t feel like going far and we had dinner nearby. There was a guy DJing from his laptop and his selections were actually great for the atmosphere. The drinks were not particularly strong but they were tasty.

Good drinks, good music. Decent spot to hang out at. We mostly spent time there since it was raining, but we did have a good time.

I almost want to give this place one star for the miscommunication(or misorder or misbill… however you want to phrase it) but the food was good, and so was the atmosphere. I like that they have really classy outdoor seating and you really feel like you could be sitting at a café in the middle of Europe somewhere. So I’ll throw in an extra for that. Hannah S. had the great plan of coming down here to walk around for a bit before a night out in Miami. I loved Espanola Way in general, it’s super cute and lots of great places all in a condensed area(good for shopping and dining). We stopped here to grab a drink, which turned(inadvertently) into two. Plus food. I had the Parma pizza — the pizza is very good. The martinis were also. Dirty(no Stoli though?!) and delicious. As Hannah S. put it nicely, there was a «flub» in our drink service. After our first drink order, I suggested we consider grabbing a bite. When I asked for a menu, we got the drink menu again. Ok, fine, another drink could work, too. BUT then, like magic, another round of drinks arrived at our table. My initial thought was, «Sweet, someone in this joint bought us a round!!» Umm… not so much. Somehow, the server totally invented us ordering another round. There was no way we alluded to it. When we pointed out the error, he looked around like we were speaking Cantonese, then brought over the manager. The manager proceeded to make the greatest error one can make — he told us it’d be pulled from our bill(albeit, by the server paying for it) and then when we politely pretended we didn’t want anyone to have to «pay» for the mistake that wasn’t really anyone’s «fault,» it never was pulled from our bill. Ah well, guess it needed to be pulled from the tip, then…(and YES I have worked in the restaurant industry, and YES I believe that was an appropriate response to the situation). Also, one of the bathroom stalls looked like a tornado had just passed through — toilet seat hanging from the handicap rail and all. It’s an enjoyable atmosphere but I’d be very careful about how I order anything next time.

Restaurant did not honor Unilocal-advertised happy hour specials during a visit on February 22, 2011. Would be 3 or 4 otherwise. Go for the affordable bottles of prosecco.

Oh Miami Beach, the other city that never sleeps. Strolling around the Miami Beach area, we went down Espanola Way. Could this street get any cuter? We pick a table on the street and ask for drink menus. So I order for us, because I like cocktails. A round of shots for all, we were going for some Appletini shots when the waiter suggested that we try this Caramel tasting Washington Apple Shots made with a Moonshine Corn Whiskey. He gives me a sample, it’s AHmazing. Okay shots aside, we order a second. I ordered Miami Vice’s for my cousin and her friend. They remind me of Mexico, a blend of blended Pina Colada and Strawberry Daqueri. It’s a can’t fail for the easy sippers. I order myself a Manhattan made from that Moonshine Corn Whiskey, because I love them. It makes a nice clear Manhattan, so sexy and of course — delish. I forget what my sister had, but we all won pretty big at Segafredo. I’ll be back to check out the rest of Espanola Way.

While everything else about this visit was worthy of four stars, a customer service flub at the end really soured out overall experience. We were sat easily on a Saturday night, no crowds, nice table outside. First we intended to do cocktails-only and move on for dinner, but we decided we’d make things easy and do food as well. We had a round of dirty martinis, then ordered a salad and a little pizza to share. The goat cheese and avocado salad was DELICIOUS, loved the dressing in particular. The BFF loved her pizza(it had prosciutto, so I just had a small sliver with the meat removed, but I thought it was tasty too). Our server was very friendly and accommodating. But when the BFF asked him to see a menu after our first round, he proceeded to hand us a drink menu(we meant food, but we didn’t specify), and then returned a few minutes later with two dirty martinis. However, we most certainly didn’t order those … if we had, why would we have asked for a drink menu? Which he brought us right before, lol. So we told him, sorry, but we didn’t order those, and he said he’d see what he could do. He returned with the manager, and the manager said no problem, our server would pay for the drinks, and they put the drinks down on the table for us. Of course, we said we didn’t want our server to pay out of his pocket for the drinks… but we didn’t expect that they’d turn around and charge us for the drinks anyway, which they did. Not cool — either give us the drinks as you said you would, or take them back! We didn’t order them, and would have certainly gone with something different the second round. They were $ 10 each and we really didn’t want them … so yeah. Irritating. So, like I said, that put a lousy note on the experience, but otherwise I really enjoyed the atmosphere & food here!

Came here for dinner with some friends while visiting South Beach. Every aspect of the experience was great! Food is delicious! Service is amazing! The overall atmosphere is great… I ordered the lobster bisque and it was delicious! I also had the Spiedini di Pollo(which are Skewers of Spicy Chicken Dipped in Peanut Cream). It was okay, not a huge fan of peanut dishes but wanted to give it a try. Will definitely be returning to this lovely restaurant soon!

My friend and I wanted to have a couple cocktails to celebrate her move to MIA& she doesn’t drink beer… so where to go? Decided to pop in here because of the cute location and lounge atmosphere. I was delighted to have attentive and prompt service. When our drinks were near empty our waiter always popped by to get us another. We had a number of martinis @ $ 10 a piece, out bill was a little pricey. So, I think if I head back here I’m going to try to make the half price happy hour. We did not eat any food, they make an excellent dirty martini by the way…

I love the Segafredo chain and each location has something special. This one is about the discreet nature of meeting with friends. It’s not about putting on a show like the Lincoln Road spot. It’s about sitting outside, meeting up with friends, and really feeling like you’ve left South Beach. Espanola Way can transport you out of the mayhem and make you feel at home.

Although I have heard some pretty negative things about Segafredo, I must say I really enjoy this spot. The location on Espanola Way is quite nice. The outdoor seating is a great spot to meet folk for drinks, conversation, or just to people watch. Espanola Way has a romantic, seclusive feel so this little spot fits in perfectly. Haven’t eaten too much on the menu, BUT I must say the salami pizza is awesome! The crust is flaky and thin, with just enough tomato sauce, and topped with cheese, spicy salami, and a hint of basil. Yumm!y Gotta try it.

I don’t like the Segafredo brand in Miami —(although I have not yet tried out the only original Segafredo in town which is by far very different and much more authentic — it’s on Lincoln Road). That being said, I think Segafredo, an Italian brand, does fit well in the Euro-styled Espanola Way. Because of my poor experience in Brickell, I was hesitant to go to this one. However, four things lured me in: 1) It was a weekday — and a happy hour. Half-priced drinks which makes them pretty affordable. A plus in Miami Beach. 2) No crowd — therefore there was no pretentiousness. I could act laid back and feel right at home. 3) The waitress was nice and friendly. 4) The ambience had its charms — inside and outside. So this was probably the first time I’ve had a good experience at Segafredo. Drinks were a hit and miss. The frozen mojito was weird. The white sangria was okay. The winner was the margarita drink that had basil & passion fruit purée.(Be sure that they’re at happy hour prices before you order though)

I’m generally not a fan of the Segafredo brand, especially their location in Brickell. Don’t EVEN get me started! ;) But you have to admit, they’re obviously doing something right; here in this town. They always seem to do great business everywhere they go. This location is no different. It’s pretty attractive with all the outdoor seating along the mostly pedestrian street of Espanola Way. I think this location compliments their surroundings with the Miami Beach Cinematheque next door and the french café two doors down. Try their happy hour.

If you don’t mind the lingering aftertaste of canned tuna that’s been festering for 100 years in the searing sun, then please order a salad at this Segafredo. I had high expectations for this Segafredo location. My dining companion and I are frequenters of the lincoln road Segafredo and always enjoy a nice light snack while we openly indulge in the people watching. Our waiter was friendly and was kind to suggest popular items. Too bad he steered me toward McNastyville and HIGHLYRECOMMENDED the worst salad known to man. It tasted like a sloth and a chimp combined powers in the kitchen and threw in flavors from all over the jungle. Spinach: check. Gnarly canned tuna: check. little bits of other veggies and anchovies, with a side of McNasty: Double check! let’s give it up to Team Chimp Sloth! When he came to pick up my plate, which looked exactly the same, save for the 3 bites I took, he asked«did you enjoy your salad?» I replied, «no, not really.» to which he shrugged his shoulders, «sometimes this salad is too powerful for people. Too many flavors.» Oh, so enlighten me, waiter– what part of this«powerful» salad was worth the recommendation? I felt even worse for my dining companion. He ordered a chicken panini. I kid you not– this is what came out– Ciabatta bread topped with grilled chicken, a piece of lettuce and a slice of tomato. with 3 packets of mayonnaise. Granted, we are American. And yes, we may lack european taste. But this«panini» lacked any type of pressing, grill marks and most importantly FLAVOR. My companion asked for a side of dressing– like a garlic aoili or ANYTHING, and was handed a thimble of mango dressing. the poor thing resorted to drizzling balsamic vinegar on his sandwich. Let us have a moment of silence for this gastronomical tragedy. After all was said and done, I paid upwards of $ 40 for a salad and panini that belonged at the bottom of a trashcan on Washington Ave. Maybe it was an off day. maybe it wasn’t. I was sorely disappointed by my meal and will never, ever order food from here ever again. Like every other restaurant on Espanola, this place reeks of tourist trap, blaring lounge music courtesy of 2005.
