ive been a couple times now. Very good sanwiches for sure. a little on the expensive side($ 10 for a sandwich) but thats when you make your own. They have a TON of stuff to pick from and they are big sammy’s! I’ll definitely go back. Good variety of breads to pick from and veggies and such(I’m a vegetarian and got great food).

I’ve been out here a couple of times and both times I’ve had a great sandwich. One of the times I came out was around 4am and the service was excellent. The guy behind the counter acted like it was 7pm and was happy to see us. This last time was during Super Bowl weekend and the service was very friendly. I ordered the Pastrami with jalapeño mustard and took a seat to wait for my sandwich. A few partyers were sitting in the restaurant with us and they busted out a bottle of grey goose from their backpack. They started to mix cocktails right there and the staff did not mind at all. It’s the beach right? I thought it was cool that they let them party it up a bit while they waited. Besides, it’s Super Bowl weekend on the beach — the party vibe was everywhere, I have noticed that the wait time for the sandwich is a little long. But man is it worth the wait. If I can wait for a sub at Publix while standing next to crying babies that are sitting in metal shopping carts, I can sit and people watch here with a smile on my face. The sandwich arrived and was it great. The bread is soft, the combination of seasonings they put in the sandwich are great and it’s simply a phenomenal sandwich. The sandwiches aren’t the cheapest(about 7 – 9 bucks) but you’re sitting a few blocks from the ocean. Who cares? You pay just about the same for a sub at a Quizno’s in some strip mall. But this place needs to take down that bulletin board with all the genitalia and breast exposure pics. I’m about to eat a sandwich here, I’m not in line at the 25 cent peep show palace. Is it really necessary?

I absolutely love a good sandwich, and a good sandwich I got. Thank you Maria A. for such a great recommendation. We asked the guy to whip up a sandwich for us. He was super helpful and went ahead and made us the best sandwich EVA. It had turkey, avocado, brie, sprouts, and some awesome cilantro spread. It was a late night and I was so tired, but let me tell you, I could have died happy after eating that sandwich. Need I say more???

I have been to SandOlab a couple of times now(once in the afternoon while at the beach and another around midnight after seeing Rent). BOTH times of day we were the ONLY ones in there(even though they had a live dj spinning records). It made me panic and think they might go out of business soon. We didn’t wait long at all for samiches like others have said(but we WERE the only ones there) and while you wait u can oogle their«wall of freedom» which consists of girls and boys posing provocatively and topless/bottomless. This was new. wasn’t there last time I came. The samiches we’ve tried all taste really fresh and well made– they don’t skimp on ingredients at all and they are big. We’ve tried the prosciutto and brie, turkey and bacon, and the mozzarella, red pepper, and basil samiches– all on the baguette bread which is so soft and mouth-watering(like Jimmy Johns or Publix subs bread) and the side dishes they serve alongside the samiches with the pickle are great too. I like the cucumber– tomato– feta concoction best. The location is really convenient also. being next to lost weekend and in walking distance from major dance clubs. I knocked off a star due to the hassling the foreign guy behind the counter gave me to show him my boobs. he was SOO persistent it made me über uncomfortable– even while we were eating(I guess it works on alot of drunk girls that stumble in after the clubs at 4am).iunno.

I’ve stopped in here a few times(since I love me some sandwiches) and I have decided I think it’s just A-ok, I prefer some of the other sandwich joints a little more because they are more cost-effective and faster. Positives: –the ingredients are always fresh & tasty –you can eat one of their yummy creations or build your own ‘wich –the people are friendly –the place is clean –they serve beer for cheap –they have the most powerful hand driers on the planet Negative: –SLOOOOOWWWWW service –they have mis-created my ‘wich a couple times(left things off or put things on I didn’t want) –pricier than other ‘wich joints –limited beer selection –I don’t really want to look at random naked people while eating — avoid looking closely at cork board on back wall****

Gave SandOlab a try after hearing many positive things about it. The place was completely empty on a Friday night, but regardless I was anxious to try the Prosciutto/Brie/Green Apple/Almond sandwich. Weirdly, the door was locked when we tried to go. The gentleman in the back ran over and opened it, assuring us that they were open. As he was making our sandwich, we began to realize that this guy is really sick. Stifling back coughs, looking sickly pale, the works. I had been wondering why he seemed unfriendly(compared to the past reviews where the staff is supposedly very friendly) Begrudgingly eating our sandwiches(which weren’t particularly spectacular) we realized that we weren’t asked if we wanted them toasted, which is something that is offered according to previous reviews. Eventually some other guy came in and kind of took over. I cursed at myself for not having the luck of having come in half an hour later to avoid eating the Swine Flu Sandwich special. Overall, unpleasant experience and the food itself didn’t quite help redeem it either. Only plus was the Gogol Bordello album playing in the background.

I really wanted to love this place after seeing all the 4 and 5 star reviews and after tasting their yummy sandwiches at a recent event. I will happily return and give this place another chance at a later time, maybe for lunch one day, because I feel like I must’ve come here on an off night since there are so many great reviews and my experience wasn’t outstanding. 3 of us arrived for dinner on a Saturday night, were joined shortly therafter by 2 more people and there was no one else in the place, but the service was agonizingly slow. It took the guy behind the counter probably 5 minutes to make each sandwich(none were complicated and all were standard sandwiches off their menu), to get each person’s drink and carry them over to the table where we’d be sitting. The sandwiches were very tasty and you could tell that all the ingredients were fresh, but the wait for our food was very long and the cost of a sandwich and a few drinks was a bit on the steep side. Pros: Fresh, quality ingredients; Sandwiches are made to order, not pre-made and sitting in a cooler or display case; Good selection of non-alcoholic beverages; A few interesting side dishes and snacks; Several types of breads to choose from and some very tasty spreads and«elements» to try; The wall of photos they have posted at the back of the dining area has some very funny shots, some with nudity(men and women) and that helps pass the time while they’re building your sandwich; Hand driers in the restrooms are a thing of wonder. Seriously, these things are the most powerful I’ve ever seen and they’re an experience unto themselves! Cons: It took a very long time to make each sandwich on the night we were here(probably 30 minutes between the time we arrived and began ordering until the time the 5 people who were eating here had their food); Limited selection of beers(bottled Bud/Bud light, Mich Ultra and Brooklyn Brewery Ale); Cost. I had the #8 on a baguette and 2 beers and it was $ 21. Maybe a touch on the expensive side for a sandwich place.

If it’s sandwiches you want, it’s sandwiches you’ll get! Came here Saturday night for dinner with fellow Unilocalers before entering the zones of sleepless night. Zac and I were STARVING so having quick food was a dream at the time. WRONG! Not quick… at all. AND there was no one else there! Honestly, it was just 6 of us, 3 of which actually had food! Why did it take so long? I had the roast beef with crispy onions, jalapenos, crumbled blue cheese, arugula and tomato. Don’t get me wrong, the sandwich was yummy but there wasn’t anything else with it. If you wanted chips you had to buy them separately, which was an additional $ 2 on top of the $ 8.50 the sandwich already cost. Yeah, it was a bit expensive for a sandwich. The service was slow, the sandwich, although tasty, was overpriced, and it was completely empty. Don’t know if we’ll make it back anytime soon.

Always suspicious of positive Unilocal reviews now, have been burned too many times by overrated places. They get it right here at SandOlab. We ordered the prosciutto with granny smith apples, toasted almonds and Brie and a basil-mayo. Incredible sandwich. Delectable baguette an important aspect of sandwiches that places always miss. Huge amounts of prosciutto and a drink! This is a great sandwich and good service. Try the slaw it has a nice kick. Followed up this sandwich with the roast beef special. Fantastic as well. The people who own/work at the place are great and they make you feel very welcome. —-UPDATE — - SandOlab docked a star for some some serious inconsistency. Went back on our last day in Miami thinking we’d go with a tried and true experience vs. a risk. We weren’t thrilled. Our sandwiches took over 20 minutes to make. When they were brought to us, the bread was cold, and key ingredients were mixing. Girlfriend got the fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers, and basil sandwich. They forgot both the basil and the vinaigrette. I got the prosciutto/brie again, but I had to get the bread re-toasted because it was cold. I think they ran out of ingredients and they had to go get stuff which meant the sandwiches sat around… Unfortunately, whoever makes your sandwich has a huge affect on the quality… just a word of caution. That said, the ultimate product is still quite tasty.

Bookmarked to try, so we came by for lunch. So very glad we did. It was around noon, so it was very quiet. I am always on a quest for a great sandwich. My favorite sandwich shop has always been«The Cheese Course». This place gives them a good run in my book. Small, very clean with outstanding service. It was our first time there and a very nice lady Victoria waited on us. She was such a cool woman. Very friendly and helpful. I ordered the proscuitto and brie sandwich, asked if she would hold the almonds. yep, not a problem. Hubby ordered a roast beef. Be patient, it takes a few for them to make these great sandwiches. Our sandwiches come out. Wow, toasted bread, perfectly put together. Proscuitto was of very good quality, the brie was awesome, apples, lettuce and mayo. What a great sandwich!!! Hunny enjoyed his roast beef. I did not try his because I was to consumed with my excellent choice. It did come with a fountain drink and a side of cole slaw. I did not care for the cole slaw, lots of red cabbage and spicy. Victoria takes great pride in her creations and walked over to make sure we were enjoying our great lunch. She was terrific! Saw a sign that they serve beer until 5a.m. whew, late… yum yum The only thing I did not care for was the volume of the music. Great music playing but very, very loud. At night, o.k. but it was way to early for such loud vibrating music for me. This will be a favorite place for me to visit. Beach, then yes grab a sandwich… Highly reccomend… thank you Unilocal… again! Prices– very reasonable $ 7-$ 10

I went to check it out over the weekend, and i loved it. My turkey bacon and Gouda cheese sandwich was so fresh and the touch of spicy mayo made it all the more tasty. It was on special for the day so it came with a home made side which was a black bean salad. YUMMM! with 3 Ms! The pothead staff is freaking hilarious and engaging in great conversation, and not to mention super attentive. They refilled my iced-tea 3 times and even gave me some for the road. Don’t forget to check out the wall of shame they have in the back, you’ll find pic of follow Unilocaler Jorge R. and if you glance to the left you’ll find a photo of some guy ROCKINGOUT with his COCKOUT!!!

So, I don’t want to oversell this, but I had what could only be described as THEBESTSANDWICHEVERMADE just last week. Roast beef, crispy onions, gorgonzola, and arugula. Amazing. I brought the masterpiece home to eat and almost picked up the phone to call Sandolab and tell them just how awesome it was. While the guy behind the counter was making it, i saw him look down, shake his head and go «Damn, that looks good.» The woman next to him looked over, agreed, and at that moment the meal began. Hit up Sandolab anytime you want good food.

Visited Sandolab this weekend for the first time and was impressed. The girl making my sandwich may have been new since she was a tad bit slow in the process. I’m happy to report that my sandwich(the Prosciutto, Apple and Brie) was delicious! The bread needs improvement, as it was tough to chew, but the flavors were very nice. Every sandwich comes with a small side and a drink, so it’s a good value. Good place to go especially after leaving the club… they’re open till 6 a.m.

I had a ridiculously tasty sandwich here last week with the magnificient Maria A and company, and were I a doctor, I would have ordered the same thing, because lurking between slices of bread was just what the doctor ordered. I know — corny — but hey, it was a hell of a sandwich. We were at the front end of a night of club and bar bouncing, and Maria had the good sense to make sure we were fed: what I found here was a verifiable Narnia of ingredients, from the myriad bread selections to the ocean of fresh fixings at the ready, from the typical to the semi-exotic. I opted out of the ‘Science’ section and instead decided to ‘Conduct(my) Own Experiment,’ the net of which was a giant and fresh turkey sandwich on wheat. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to begin our impending descent into the night, fortified with a healthy chomp. Word is that the Brooklyn Lager should be in any day now if it’s not already, and regardless, I do know this. My next trip to South Beach brings me back here.

So, after describing, in full detail, the wonders of Sandolab to an enraptured lunch crowd at my office this afternoon, I realized, to my shock and awe, I hadn’t written up my review yet! Quelle horreur! After reclaiming our trivia title, us members of Team Unilocal headed over to Sandolab for some celebratory eats, as we had fondly recalled Maria’s and JL’s glowing reviews. And after being hit over the head with the enormous menu, getting input from the sandwichmaker, and finally narrowing it down, it was settled. I ordered the #8 with prosciutto, brie, granny smith apples, and almonds, on a toasted baguette. Pure perfection. Although with the addition of some mango chutney(as we mentioned to Beau, the owner), it’d be stellar. I also got to indulge in half of the pastrami, swiss, and jalapeño mustard creation(#6, I believe), and a few bites of the veggie and feta wrap(#11), and a sliver of the mortadella/capicola sandO(don’t know the number). Everything was great, but the brie, prosciutto and apple combo really stands out. For the price of the sandwich(about $ 10), a small side and a drink were included. I opted for the Sand-O-Slaw, which is coated in a peanuty dressing. Yum! I also got to try the corn-and-bean and cucumber-feta sides. Both were good, but it’s the slaw to which I will no doubt return. Although they only offered 3 Anheuser-Busch suds at the time of my visit, Beau assured us that soon they would be offering 2 creations from NYC’s own Brooklyn Brewery! Not that there’s anything wrong with Bud Light(I’m an STLian, after all), but variety is the spice of life! And how could I forget the Ho’Made Sweets? I got to try a bit of the brownie, and it was amazing. Plus, any establishment that markets their products as being«ho-made» has won a spot in my heart. I know I’ll be returning to Sandolab many, many times in the future. And not just for late night eats while stumbling home from the club(but it’s good to know there’s other options for late-night munching besides greasy pizza).

After an amazing night at trivia the Unilocal team decided it was time for grub, so off to Sandolab we went. After like a good 10 minutes of trying to pick from their amazing sandwich creations i was able to decide on what i have dubbed the italian meaty sandwich(#3) it had cappicola, mortadella, salami, ham, provolone, peperoncini, red onions. with a italian vinaigrette. The sandwich overall very good, the only thing is that i wish it were hotter. I ordered it toasted and for me a toasted sandwich should have a crunch too it, and leave bready flakes on my plate. none of which my sandwich had. It made me very sad because it would have made it great. My sandwich came with a side peanut slaw which was very good, kinda wish i had more of it. More crunch then i was expecting from a slaw but it was still very delish. Perfect amount of spice and creaminess. For sweets I tried a piece of Ana’s brownie which was good but for me a bit on the dry side. i would have enjoyed it more if it was more moist, kinda slightly undercooked maybe. I also tried a piece of greg’s oatmeal raisin cocoa cookie which was good and deserving of another try next time, although drop the raisins and add more chocolate and i might just be in sandolab cookie heaven. The place was clean and the service was spot on. Overall really nice place. Definitely want to go back again and try some more sandolab creations.

Stopped by last night for celebratory sandwiches with the winning Unilocal Trivia Team. They now have beer. So Unilocalers had a few brews, shocking, I know. I had some of their lemon pound cake. Not bad, but I heard they have some crazy good cookies Side-note: The dryer in the bathroom has parts from a jet-engine. That’s the only way I can explain it’s power. Careful: or your skin will melt off. Ok, that’s a joke.

There should be a Sandolab on every street corner in this city. It is so delicious and reasonably priced. The Unilocal Trivia Team and I wandered over after our victory, and in true Unilocal form, we ordered a bunch of different sandwiches and tried them all… My personal fave– the prosciutto n brie creation. So amazing. The pastrami is the freshest I’ve ever seen, brie in anything is a plus, and the bread is baked to crispy perfection… My second fav was the feta/hummus/kalamata olives/cucumber wrap. I’ll eat anything with feta in it. Anything. Again, ultra-fresh ingredients, bursting with flavor… The only thing I wasn’t crazy about was the peanut slaw… It was good, but compared to everything else on the menu, it was just«meh». To make up for it, however, they did have some awesome brownies… They tasted homemade and organic and yummy! Why can’t there be a Sandolab by my house!

The Unilocal team ending up here after we took back our title as champions of useless information. There are too many tasty looking things to pick from, so we each got something and shared. The sandwiches were all tasty, the best was this pastrami and brie and I believe apple. The mix of salty and sweet just worked beautifully. Coming in second was the one I got, a feta hummus wrap. The key to this one is the feta they have very good feta I would say in the top 10 fetas I ever tasted. They have an awesome spicy mustard that I was ready to steal; I forget what was on that sandwich, but I remember the mustard. Since they are open until 6 am 3 nights a week, I think this is going to become my normal last stop when leaving the beach. And if you aren’t sure about an ingredient, ask for a sample, they don’t mind.

awesome sandwiches! im so glad i got to try sandolab,(thanks maria!) in south beach. we got there maybe at 11pm everything on the menu on the wall sounded just too good to order without reading the whole thing. i finally got the #10 because i saw it had avocado in it. the guy behind the counter was pretty cool to us and the other customers at the shop. i dont remember which sandwich maria went for but i know that she wanted to have it on sandwich bread instead of baguette and this was no problem. also, her sandwich came with a little side of salad which had an interesting dressing. spicy peanut. i was jealous. my sandwich was pretty darn good. it could have used a little bit more oil and vinegar but all the ingredients were so fresh that i just did not care. besides, my sandwich came with a nice and juicy salad based on feta cheese. im suprised i liked it cause i am not a feta cheese person. just ask around. i am definitely going to come back to this place. its great that theyre on espanola way cause thats usually by where i hang out when im at the beach. la sandwicherie has competition and they better keep it up… sandlab is true game. playaaaassss
