Don’t expect a huge party. This is a quiet place to have a drink before going out. Kinda spendy at $ 14 a drink. View was really cool. It was kinda difficult to find. Take elevator to the 4th floor and find the stairs to the rooftop.

Nice small rooftop. Stopped through her on a Saturday night and it was low-key but a little too low-key something is missing. But overall it’s a cute small little spot to stop through if you have time to kill.

I’ve been here twice and both times I had a good time chilling with my friends. It’s $ 6 for a beer and cocktails are about $ 10. You come here for the nice view and the nice couches and lounge atmosphere. By the way, the last time I went, Saturday, appears to be gay night

Very low key and relaxed, this place had cheap drinks(for Miami) and a nice set-up on the roof. Also, there was no cover charge which makes it a definite«why not?» place if you have never been. It is ideal for a large group because there is a lot of seating and the music is not too loud.

Decent place to grab some drinks and relax. On the plus side, coming here allows you to avoid the swarms of retards that generally roam south beach at night. On the minus side, if you’re one of those retards, you might think it is too dead for your liking and opt to hump legs elsewhere. I was kind of disappointed with the view. As there are bigger hotels surrounding this place, you don’t really get the magnificent panoramic view that I’ve come to associate with rooftop bars. Also, the elevator and staircase you must take to reach the rooftop is a tad bit ghetto and could use some remodeling. Drink prices are more reasonable than your standard Sobe prices. I really enjoyed the lychee martini. It was strong with just the right amount of lychee.

Discovered this place after my Frat-astic friends at Urban Daddy recommended it when I was searching for an outside drinking venue. I’m such a sucker for rooftops and views. South Beach falls short in this category– so had to hit it up. My friend from L. A was in town for Basel and we loved it so much, we came back a second night before hitting an event at the Shore Club next door. Vibe is cool, calm, outdoor lounge-ish. Views are great! Outdoor furniture is comfy and welcoming. I loved all the green potted plants and bougainvillea, it’s like a little garden haven amongst the urban jungle of Collins Ave. Drinks were reasonable at $ 11/martini and they make sushi rolls fresh behind the bar. Bartender made great Lychee Martinis. This is for sure a place to come for a quiet intro to your night on the beach, with a date, or just to enjoy the city night views. The only major bummer was that they don’t open until 8pm which meant we missed sunset. Hopefully they’ll extend hours come spring/summer when daylight is more plentiful. SOSO coming back here to enjoy more rooftop booze ‘n views.

Still a perfect place for a visitor from NY — perfectly charming and quiet — I think that it’s not enough if you are from Miami or the surrounding area, because you have this everywhere. I thought is was a great place to grab a beer from the front desk and just enjoy the sunset. On Saturday it was a welcome relief from the scene at delano or clubs. I’m from NY — I don’t leave town for a disco vacation. If you are looking for some crazy scene, it’s not great for that, but it’s a real find, even years after being brand new. Even though it was quiet, the hotel’s food and beverage manager was on site, making sure everyone was taken care of.

This is a great spot to start you evening. Its relaxed and not to crazy. Love that its on the roof top because you get to enjoy the ocean breeze coming off the beach. I think last time I was there they closed around 12:30ish. A good time to arrive is around 1030

Great for hanging out… bummer for the person who is in the penthouse suite who wants to… I don’t know… sleep? So… go to hang out but don’t expect to stop the party if you sprung for the suite on the roof.

Went in Summer of 2007, and it was definitely a great little spot. We even made friends and had a grand old time! The drinks were really cheap compared to drinks at The Delano, the Setai and other surrounding hotels. The music was great. Great energy. Great view at night. Rooftop Lounge is definitely a place where you start your evening. After a great expensive dinner, give your wallet a break and have a couple of Vodka Sodas for less than $ 20, and once you’re lit, keep the party rolling at the Setai(less than a block away), or the Delano’s poolside bar(about 2 blocks away).

Totally have to agree with Maria & Carla: This place has a great location with views of the ocean and busy nightlife below. But something does always seem to be missing. The bartenders are good, if over worked, and the music is kept at levels where you can hear yourself speak. I’ve been her a few times for events and a couple martini parties in the past. I have a good time with friends but I couldn’t imagine hanging out here for more than an hour and a half tops. It’s definitely a place to start the evening. Mynt is a popular dance club for the ultra-hip located next to the hotel at street level. Skybar, also, is short walk that offers a better late night scene.

I do agree with all the reviews… There are good and bad points to TownHouse. There’s always decent Lounge music playing in the background. The drinks are not your typical SoBe prices; they’re reasonable… And there’s usually a small crowd… But as Maria states, SOMETHING is missing. It has all the potential to be sooo cool. And the sad part was, it USED to be. TownHouse has been around for years. I’ve been doing the rooftop scene since 2003. Back then it was THE happening spot to preparty at, before heading to Mynt… But over the years, the crowds come and go, and the scene has change quite a bit. The crowds are differnet now… Not the trendy hipsters that once mingled here, but more of a younger crowd just now discovering TownHouse as if it were brand new. I still like to come here for preparty, because its reasonable and it has a great atmosphere(the views are phenomenal). The comfy cabana beds are spread out and its definitely a place to meet with friends. :)

Definitely need to check those fake ids. The place is full of obviously underage kids… It is always nice to enjoy these great South Florida Nights while hanging out at the rooftop — after all this why we live here. Good place to warm up before you go out to a «real night club» with«really» cool people. Just ignore the posers and you’ll be just fine.

I didn’t love the place, the setting itself was nice, for a private party it would have been awesome. It just seemed like a crowd with a lot of «dead behind the eyes» people walking around trying to play«cool SoBe» people.(Leave the attitude for the SoBe nightclub you probably can’t get into anyway.) Here it definitely was NOT a laid back atmosphere. And what is it with the bathrooms with NO mirrors? Girls like to primp. Again, what made the experience forgettable was the crowd that particular night, maybe it was an off night. Try it out, see for yourselves. Plus: outdoors, low music so talking is possible. Cons: If you get an off crowd, you can’t save the vibe.

I’ve been to this place for events and it’s cool. The music is generally low and the atmosphere laid back but something is always missing. This rooftop is relaxing and good for big groups or smaller private events. The service and food are always good. Ideal if you’re looking for something quieter especially if you’re in the mood for chatting.

Great little gem in the Northern part of S. Beach. It’s what it says, a rooftop bar atop the Townhouse Hotel, open to guests and walk-ins. Almost every night in Miami is a perfect night for utilizing this rooftop. They sometimes have dj’s, but mostly they play a cd/mp3. Right across the street from the Setai.

Ohhhhhhhhh I love it here. Quiet, relaxing rooftop bar with a faint of music in the background. The wind blowing through your hair while you sit on a red waterbed sipping on a fruity drink in the heart of South Beach. Now that’s my type of place. I recommend going here for an after dinner drink, right before you decide to hit up one of the clubs in Miami.

Nice and quiet hideout next to the Shore Club and Setai. You really can’t easily find the place if you don’t know your way — Entrance to the hotel is on 20th St, take the elevator up to 4th floor and then take the stairs one floor more up. This relatively small place(capacity 250) has nice views on some directions, lot’s of relaxing«waterbeds», full bar and quality, not-too-loud audio system. Drinks are about $ 8 — nice place to start off the evening or just sit back and relax.
